  1. This just turns my stomach, rest in peace Bronson
  2. I fully understand, while I am writing this I have a dog panting profusely because he can hear thunder. Your poor mum it must have given her a fright
  3. At a VERY BIG PINCH they will allow you to have a puppy if you already have two dogs but one is desirable.I have four so I am totally out and the reason they do that is they don't want the puppies to form a pack mentality. My neibour has one 15 year old dog and a two year old golden retriever that didn't make it as a guide dog and a 12 moth old puppy that is due to go back.
  4. The people next door to me are onto there third puppy, the first one a female golden lab went on to full training. The second one a female Golden Retriever didn't pass so they decided to keep her. The last one they have now is a male golden lab and he is due to go back any day. I would love to do it but with four dogs of my own that isn't going to happen.
  5. I have had a DSLR for about two years now and have done a few short courses, but I seem to take one step forward then three back. In January I am going to join the local camera club and hope to learn lots from other members. I do love it and drive everyone mad because I am always snapping photos of them. I seem to lack that artistic flair and I am not sure that is something that you learn or you just have it I love all your photos and they have inspired me to get off my butt and keep trying This is just a couple of random shots, happy for advice
  6. So jealous, that trip would be my dream come true. Sorry cant give advice on what lenses.
  7. Thank you so much for this thread, my standard poodle was just diagnosed with SA so he is on a number of tablets including three fish oil tablets a day. I was not aware I had to give him vitamin E as well.
  8. I will second and third that "what an awesome shot" and impressed more that it was taken with an iphone.
  9. Ah you see :D It wasn't an eBay shop called chinaarts by any chance? I've bought from them in the past, a Sigma lens & an Olympus extension tube, & they did the same thing with the invoice (although both were well under the $1 000 mark so it didn't matter). It was from Digital World International, and the item was over $1500. I would highly recommend them and don't have a problem with items coming from Hong Kong. The service is so quick and the tracking system second to none, I could check constantly and know where my parcel was. Unlike Australia post who I have just sent a parcel to Canada with and the tracking still says parcel was sent from post office. As if I didnt know that I want to know where it is now two weeks later.
  10. It's $1 000au before AU customs will charge you duty. I too get a lot from the USA, especially with our dollar being so strong against the Greenback. Try Cameta Camera at eBay. They are actually a real camera shop in New York. They've never let me down. Here's their link: http://stores.ebay.com.au/Cameta-Camera?_rdc=1 Alternatively I just got my E-5 from an Australian online store based in South Australia called Camerastore.com.au. Great price for a great camera. So they maybe worth checking out if you haven't already. Here's their link: http://camerastore.com.au/ Good luck I just brought a lens for around $1500 out of Hong Kong (would have to check web site name) and didn't pay any duty? They had the best tracking site, I could check up all the way along and it would show me up to date details where my lens was. sheesh keep it quiet. You're lucky. The shop probably didn't place the full amount on the customs declaration Either that or someone at AU customs didn't check it, which wouldn't surprise me, as they only check about 10% of items (well they used to several years ago). Here's the link to the AU Customs website dealing with importing items via the post, ie from places like eBay: http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page5653.asp Thanks for the tip, but you just reminded me I had to email them to send me the correct invoice because the one that came with the camera was a lesser amount. Now I know why

  12. We have four dogs, two standard poodles a toy poodle and a Jack Russell. They are all aged between 6 and 8 and have been together since they were each 8 weeks old. Gold Coast council: I applied for a permit after living at my current address for six years, thankfully we passed on all levels to get a permit for these four dogs. Walking: I walk all four on my own every morning, the two large and the two small are on joiners so I only have two leads.I don't have any problems as long as we don't come across a dog on its own. Vet bills: I have just taken the four dogs and our cat in for their yearly vaccinations, it was expensive but way cheaper to do all at once. So far vet bills have not been to bad except my male standard was just diagnosed with an auto immune disease so the dollars are just starting to add up. Food: the Jack is always on a diet, so he is cheap to feed, the others all get a premium dry food. A 15 kilo bag would last me nearly a month plus they get bones and chicken. I never really add it up, but way cheaper then you would think. Grooming: I used to send them to a grooming saloon but after being made redundant four years ago I have totally taken over that role. I like to do them every fortnight so that would have been $220 every second week. I have a hydro bath and all the gear so it has saved us a small fortune. Bedding: During the day three of them sleep on the leather lounge in my family room, Oscar likes to sleep on his trampoline bed. they also have big dog cushions on the back veranda if they want to be outside. At night the toy poodle is on our bed and the Jack and male standard are on soft beds on the floor in our room. The female standard has taken up resistance on my thirteen year old grandsons bed, while he is staying with us. I did also have my sons 17 year old staffy for eight months until we had to have him put down. Plus I minded a friends Labrador three days a week for nine months. The Labrador nearly killed me she was non stop all day. I cant imagine my house without dogs.
  13. Beautiful photos and sounds like one very lucky puppy, thanks for sharing
  14. Just to let you know I sent you that link but have never used one, I walk four dogs at once so no biking for me.
  15. Have you seen this before? http://www.thedogoutdoors.com/walkydog-dog-bike-leash.html
  16. Beautiful photo and Codi is very cute :)
  17. Too cute, how do you give them up?
  18. Thanks, my husband thinks he is the cutest and he is easy to photograph
  19. My heart goes out to you, I have been freighted a few times when I have been out walking but nothing like you described. I hope he moves on so you can go back to your morning walks.
  20. I love baby photos, here are a few of mine. This was Coco my toy poodle when she was still chocolate Oscar my standard Skipper our Jack Russell, the day I gave him to my husband for Xmas. (that was 7 years ago) Skipper and Oscar Skipper giving our cat a hard time
  21. I see your in QLD have you ever asked Ann from Cornerbrook Newfoundlands, she sometimes re homes dogs a few years old.
  22. Looks like you got your photo bucket problem sorted
  23. I just had the same thing, I tried deleting heaps of photos but it didn't fix it. So I relented and paid I think it was just over $20 to go to there higher level. I also learnt if you put a photo onto a web sight or in a signature it will disappear if you remove the photo from photo bucket.I know that makes sense but I couldn't work it out at first.
