How lucky are you Stan's mum, it must make life so much easier. I am also blessed with good neighbors, on one side I have a couple in their 60's with no pets. They have never complained in seven years and they were happy for me to get my four dog license from the council. On the other side I have a family that raise guide dog puppies and also have two dogs of there own.

I happened across a bbq'd dog in Nth Vietnam at a market. Anne's right - friends went to Vietnam last year, they stuck to the tourist trail and saw dog on the menu. It was a brave friend that told me about what they saw quietly knowing my love of dogs. In our local paper today I found this article Hot Dogs off the menu Beijing: A truck crammed with about 200 stolen dogs bound for Chinese restaurants was intercepted by an animal lover who swerved his car across its path on a Beijing highway. The man used his microblog to alert about 200 animal rights activists who gathered round the truck during a 15 hour standoff. The dogs were freed when an animal protection group brought them for 115,000 yuan ($16,699).

I am with TLC if your older dog is up to date with all its shots and you haven't had any visiting dogs, there is no reason why your puppy cant go in your own back yard. I would defiantly not leave it alone with an older dog and only let them together while supervised. By teaching it to toilet inside you are setting yourself up for big trouble

What is IBD?

Get some empty plastic milk bottles or soft drink bottles and fill them with water ( not to the top allow room to expand) and freeze. Put them in the crate with him and he will lay up against them and they will help to keep him cool. Also a fan might help, I am in Qld and mine all stay cool by being in my family room on the tiles. By the way your puppy is very cute, I had two shepherds about 25 years ago.

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for postage? I did a small order on Amazon yesterday and the products were $45 but the postage was $55 so I cancelled it. It was only a boxed Cd program so not big or heavy. Thanks everyone for your input its fun to see what people buy

You can buy a spray that kills them at Bunnings, its not cheap around $18 a can. We go out every night and do a cane toad patrol and we now struggle to find any. I think OH has killed them all and disposed of the bodies. My dogs sleep inside but they can get outside to the toilet so it is a worry here in Qld.

Roomba's do it for you!! I love the you tube video's of the cats sitting on top of the Roomba as it does its rounds. Can't help but laugh. ( ) That is hilarious :p
