Try and place water away from there. lt might be thirsty?/ l wouldnt be happy with him taken shelter there. There is water everywhere here, I am in a high rain fall area. He has water points all around him, dog water, duck pond, chook water, the dam etc. The dam he can get to easily, he is living right near my water tank though (which he cannot access water from). Im not happy with him being there, but I dont really have many options. I see him every day sunning himself but am just thankful that he is non confrontational and slips off to his hidey hole. He isn't alarmed by me and will happily sun himself with me pottering around but the second someone else tiptoes in he is off like a shot. I think he has been there for some time and is used to me. If I could get him on flat ground I would throw a bucket or something over him but he likes to hang out in bush (lavender and agapanthas) so it's impossible to trap him in that way. I am just thankful that the Copperhead shot off in the other direction. The on Saturday, I had a hawk come and eat two of my beautiful chooks. So yeah, it's been country living at it's finest lately. Ok thats makes it very diffcult. We must be having the same at the moment. lve also had chooks go missing. And l know its a hawk. Bit tricky stopping the hawks also. Hope you get him outta your garden soon as he might be happy but l doubt you are. Dont try to catch or kill him unless you can kill him properly. Some snakes dont like that and thats how people get bitten. Best leave him up to someone that is experinced at that.

l thought the same.Have never had a RBB stick around. The last snake l was reffering to in the post above l thought it was a black snake untill my son seen it dead.He states it was a tiger snake. l had a black one years ago come out from under my house.lt was very dark in colour, but it also was a tiger snake. Tigers seem to sick around if theres food or water around. l would be getting a second option on the type of snake before you just think its a RBB. They say snake camo themselves into the backgound. So if his in a hole he might even be a tiger snake?. And if thats the case he just might hang around.

Been told they like milk too. Just a thought

There not much you can do. lm the same as you with keeping grass down and clean paddocks. They just come in the yards anyway. l had a tiger snake come into a area were there were 3 people having coffie and 4 dogs. One of the people even tryed to kill it but without sucess. Just for the damm thing to come back 1 hr later. l had to get rid of it as it thought it was staying around l hope your dogs are ok.lt sounds like a younger snake to me? Mine would have been 12 mths old l think but there still deadly

Firslty ld like to thank who ever nomanited me for the Breeders award. This has been the best news ive had for 14 mths. Mortonplace has had a very bad run with a car accidnet in Feb 12. Since the accident l havent breed any pups,as l didnt feel l could give them what they desevered. lm still unable to carry a frenchy with my right arm and lm awaiting brain surgey also. lm hoping all goes well and l can get back to some light breeding at the end of 13? For Juile thank you for the MDBA and there awards. They can have great healing powers to know that even though lm not breeding my dogs still are vauled and luved. Thanks to the person that nomonated me.You made my year.xxx MY DOGS KEEP ME ALIVE AND WE WILL BE TOGETHER NO MATTER WHAT

The bigest problem lm haveing is trying to explain to breeders whats going to happen A few of them DONT belive or just plainly DONT want to listen lm trying to get as many breeders together [mainly victorian ones] for now to get ideas and try to educate the public as to what a ANKC breeder is.lm not a good speller or writer and find it very difficult to do. l feel frustrated as l want to keep my dogs in the future and enjoy them as l do today. lm sure there's many breeders that want to do the same. Together it WILL help...Relying on VICDOGS wont work..We need a VOICE and we need it now. EDITED to say thank God there's people like Steve and Toydog that can see the dimm light at the end of this horrid tunnel

All the above is why ive started a facebook page called''Purebred Dogbreeders' So together we can have a voice.its pointless one person telling dogvic of our concerns, But they might listen to a group of members. After all the new law hasn't passed yet. We still have time to write and tell Ted our concern about micro chipping includeing our privacy will be invaded via requred microchip num displayed with our adds. Also the idea hasn't done anything ot stop reg puppyfarms. All Ted had to say was petshop pups maybe dearer?? thought the push was to BAN the sales of petshop pups? Yet im abit All l can see it will push ileagal puppyfarms underground and us reg breeders [VICDOG MEMBERS] are paying the price

Yes this true and a huge concern. Also very cruel on smallier breeds to get such a huge neddle so young. Unfair and a very un thought laws.its not going to help at all. lt hasnt been passed yet. So maybe letters to Ted telling him OF the concerns EXAMPLE {age being quite young as most pups leave at 8 weeks old} Also dog and owners ID been exposed and the risks it could have. Maybe he may reconsider some facts? Anythings worth a try or we may not even own dogs in the very near future That argument will take you no where they put microchips in tiny little lizards etc It hurts a bit but if they let puppies and kitten have their organs yanked out to stop them being able to be used for breeding we are hardly going to have a case against a chip needle. however, it appears there is loads of science to prove microchips cause cancer and because dogs are our property and we are being told at law that we have no choice some who have animals which have developed cancer which science says is caused by the chips are mounting a class action against councils. I love the way "should animals have rights " is chopped and changed to suit the moment. One minute we compare them to children and we want them to be treated accordingly until it doesnt suit some management plan. Then regardless of whether its best for the dog to be vaccinated, or desexed or microchipped those rights go right out the window. So do human property rights for that matter. Sometmes someone needs to consider how these things affect living animals and their longevity and quality of life rather than focusing on what they can do to prevent them being dumped. Seriously do they really think anyone other than legal breeders are going to chip their puppies anyway.Do they honestly think that when a breeder drives a couple of hundred kilometres to sell their litters to a dealer in another state that they wont do it now ? Do they think people wont buy their puppies from breeders all over the country? Mandatory chipping came in for NSW in 1997 and still majority of dogs coming into pounds are not chipped and its impossible to police. Do they have any idea how difficult it is in that state to do the right thing and apply for a DA and become legal ? Where is the reward for people who are wanting to do the right thing ? Time will tell but if youthink you can be exempted in some way because you are registered with a state CC better rethink that. Tred to send you a PM but l think your inbox is full Steve

l thought ld share a new facebook site being setup just for breeders. Hopeing to gain more people over time. There some issues that need to be looked at within the purebred world as most will know. So l think the sites a start. Please have a look and see what you think? lts called Purebred Dogbreeders.
-
I agree. It also is only going to quash illegal puppy mills. I don't know what separates a legal puppy mill from an illegal mill, so the beauty will be in the legislation at hand. Agreed this is why a new facebook page is being created for purebred dog breeders. The aim is to show were not puppymillers.farmers and what the diffrence is between the type of breeders, lts called purebred dogbreeders go check it out and join if your a breerer and concerned p.s its under construction so just tick the ''like'' button if your intersted

These stupid clips need to be shown when people do get bitten. To show the public why these accidents happen
-
l think you will find that above should read[if you have 10 or more fertile bitchs a breeding and rearing permit is required. That doesnt mean we can all own 10 dogs before we have to apply. A permit to keep more than 2 dogs is the normal ruleing within many concils and 4/5 dogs on land.

Buying A Main Registered Dog
mortonplace replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
Actually that is not correct. A lot of breeders put pups who are show quality on the limited register as they are going to a pet home. What might be a great pet home is not necessarily one that would be a great show home. If the owner decides prior to sterilizing that they would like to show and the breeder is happy that the pup is still show quality then it can be changed over. You bet me When breeding the aim is to improve what you breed from So limited reg pups should be of good quailty if buying from the right breeder -
