  1. I think that would be Carl Pew. We imported semen a couple of years ago from Texas and we went through him and his semen collection agency. Excellent service and knowledge
  2. How would you feel for life if you sold this puppy on with your doubts. I'm pretty sure you would be worrying every single day that this baby would not be getting the love, caring, patience and the million and one other things we would want them to have....and it's always wise to follow your gut instincts. Lie if you have to, to get out of it, it doesn't matter, but what matters is the well being of your baby!
  3. and while you're at it....ask them how much THEY"D like to pay
  4. There is no compulsary testing for Bullmastiff dogs of any description, however most do test for hips and elbows...and we have HUGE problems with these issues!!!!
  5. Are these new owners experienced? I know you said they have a dog of you already, but would they be able to read body language and in fact see what could possibly be happening? Also what sort of temperament has the prospective owners dog have...friendly, aloof, excitable? This can be helped along by owners who are aware of these issues and able to intervene and be the leader of the pack so to speak! Desexing can make a big difference to dominance and if she has no other real issues with the other dogs that you own then I would think as the newcomer it would have an impact in that she is not the top dog and so hopefully will settle into the routine of her new home.
  6. I am gobsmacked that Danes do not have a HD ED xray requirement....... Tell me about it !!! Wow, great scores on what has been recorded for such a large breed. Scoring is not a requirement in Bullmastiff's either - most breeders do now but some breeders in U.K still never score
  7. Totally agree with you. We have had 2 goes at using imported semen on one of our girls which amounted to zilcho. We agreed to pay up front for a certain amount of breeding units and that is basically it...our loss, but we were prepared to take that risk. We have one breeding unit left and just hope like crazy that it works on somebody one day
  8. We had a similar issue with elbow surgery which was done on our girl when she was 7 months old. We had her xrayed and scored for hips only as we didn't see the point in doing elbows knowing one would probably come back lousy anyhow in terms of score. Should be ever breed with her then it would take a lot of explaining to people who possibly are not aware of how the scoring system works and we would be continually having to explain ourselves and her injury. We thought it better to leave it and just be upfront about her injury and why her elbows weren't scored.
  9. Frozen half filled hot water bottles are also good with too!
  10. Contact NFS Pet Supplies, they advertise on DOL. I have one that I use for pups and is 24" high, sturdy yet lightweight and I believe they also do a lower height as well.
  11. Hate to say it but you are being ripped off, or the Vet is not confident in doing the job. Best look elsewhere to someone more reasonable and hopefully done plenty before.....better safe then sorry. Good luck.
  12. What about Hot Tamali, Red Hot Chilli, Hot To Trot, Hot Rod, Hot And Spicy, Hot Shot....just a few ideas
  13. I agree with SwaY, don't take it as gospel what they see...sometimes they can count the same one twice also. Just take it as confirmation that there is "something" there!
  14. Bummer with the no pregnancy. Have just been through the same thing myself with no pregnancy from frozen semen. As far as the blood tests go the positive are very accurate, but it ranges from bitch to bitch as to what day it will pick up on the placental hormone, usually from about day 22-23 is a safe bet but some bitches can go to day 30 to pick up any results. There is about a 15% chance on picking up a false negative but should be 100% positive if it is positive....only pregnancy will produce the hormone required for the test to pick it up. However if the test is done too early it may come back negative , but if you are thinking your bitch may be still pregnant then the test can be done again a few days later. You must give the test at the very least 15 minutes to complete and even the faintest of lines is a positive!
  15. BIG congrats to you and mum and what a nice surprise to wake up to an extra little bub
