  1. I somehow threw out the box for my revolution and have no idea what size dog this is for. Its white with light green and 2.0mL. Has anyone got a box there they can check for me or point me in the direction I can find the size per mLs please.
  2. He is a handsome boy isn't he Tiggy... and well done
  3. 4 Paws, there are 3 short snippets of the DVD on his site, take a look for yourself and decide.
  4. Yep, the dog should be examined by the judge prior to the event starting, like in vetting
  5. Why can't they put the scoring out of 110. 10 points for handler work. So like how you praise your dog, speak and give your dog commands to your dog, hand signals with the words of commands etc.
  6. Oh My lord, that is one huge dog. But its good to see someone looking out for it. Is her front feet facing weird directions cause of her weight?
  7. None of my guys like Eukanuba, it just seems too dry for them and they get dandruff.
  8. What is your daughter feeding the pups, what brand of food?
  9. Well Done, My OH will be there for a month training with you all in September, I hope he doesn't decide to bring home any pups... I kow they have their eyes on some Dutch pups but I am saying no no no. Even though I love puppies.
  10. It will take you alot longer than a couple of weeks to get to trialling standard. Closer to a couple of years for your first dog. (to get a high scoring one) My advice is to forget club and find a trialling mentor to speed your learning process up. There is much to stuff up on your first trialling dog. Hell knows.....I think we all did! But when it comes to offlead work, who is there with other dogs to practice with? You need distractions around for the dog when training, plus with them around he is very focused on me and nothing else.
  11. Yes that is what happened to us when we first got the stand...it happened with both of ours. Just keep going So its normal...
  12. Another question, you know how you can trial from 6 months and you need 3 passes under 2 different judges, Is there an age limit for when the dog is awarded the title? Like does the dog have to be 12 months old like in the show ring? Or can they be any age? Also, If I enter 3 events on 3 consecutive weekends, and we receive a pass for each, can he then be awarded a title or is there a time frame?
  13. I don't like pro plan, supercoat, or science diet its horrible to clean up after they have been to the toilet. Why don't you cut back on the mince and feed bones, chicken necks and dry only. Chicken necks are pretty cheap, but you want to buy them fresh and then bag them up for the week because Feeding a pup mince can get very expensive. My mum uses Optimum puppy, it looks very similar to Royal Canin (what I use) in texture, its very moist and her dogs love it. Some of my rescue dogs refused to eat Bonnie, it was horrible to them. Remember the cheapest option isn't always right for your dog, your dog may not like it at all.
  14. Erny, I will try and do some random stuff to see if it comes back to him. I really want the OH coming home in a couple of weeks and we are at a standard ready for his CCD. If not, I will just have to explain that i didn't understand :D But I think he would want to kill me! He is going extremely well considering he has never done obedience with a club before, and its only been 5 days.
  15. At the beginning of each trial after being summoned by name, each handler and dog shall report to the judge repeating the handlers as well as the dog's name. The dog must be leashed (unleashed in SchH 111) and is to sit in the basic heel position. The pedigree and registration certificate as well as the scorebook is to be presented to the trial secretary prior to the trial (scorebook only in USA). Should the hosting organization demand a membership or affiliation requirement, then a valid member-ship card must be presented.
  16. MonElite, I will PM you. Dogs need to be papered (not sure if its main or limited) as there is a limit on the breed that can compete: BREEDS ELIGIBLE FOR SCHUTZHUND TRAINING German Shepherd Dog, Boxer, Dobermann, Rottweiler, Giant Schnauzer, Airedale Terrier, Bouvier Des Flandres, Hovawart, Belgian Shepherd (Groendael, Malinois, Tervueren, Laekenois), Berger de Beauce, Berger de Brie, Berger Des Pyrenees A Face Rase, Berger Des Pyrenees A Museau Normal, Berger Picard, Lapinkoira, Suomenpystykorva. Not all these breeds are in Oz. Some clubs allow other breeds to train, some are more strict. Ruth, we will have to meet up and I can show you Kyrans Silent Protection work, when we had our bitch last year training her and our rotti this year, Kyran used to watch, he is now so equipment orientated, as soon as the sleeve comes out his eyes nearly pop out of his head. He loves the bite work. At one stage we had to lock him up, and the noise he made was so loud cause he wanted to train. Nathan even had Ace on the puppy sleeve when we were out one day. I recon if someone jumped my fence with a bite suit on the staffords would attack hahaha I have a rule book here, I will pull it out on Saturday and check on the papers and if any breed can compete in BH but not get titled for it.
  17. If by fouling you mean #1's or #2's, yup, cost us first place that one :D "poo bag in ring 1, please!" Thats 10 points, I can understand how you could go from 1st to last! So it if goes twice? 20 points cause it says on each occasion. So if it doesn't number 1s and then 2s is that 20 points? For those that are reading and not understanding the fouling rule, here it is: Fouling: A dog which fouls at any time while it is under the control of the Judge must be penalised 10 points on each occasion. The deductions must be recorded as 'penalties for misbehaviour' and deducted from the total score.
  18. I've done something wrong now. Tonight he wont do his automatic sits, instead he stands like a dog that has no idea what a automatic sit is. Stands were really good, only had to correct him once. And he stayed in the stand position offlead... Training is going fantastic with him seeing we only joined the club on Sunday. YIPPEE :D
  19. Yep, i think its called Gold Coast sports dog club or something similar, some members were at the trials on the weekend with the uniforms on. Excellent, thanks for that....Will contact them tomorrow. Here is a link to some clubs Clubs
  20. Thanks, I didn't know that a dog fouling on the ground would be such a large deduction.
  21. It was the food ;) nah kidding. The character work with IPO1 and IPO2. I thought they would have been at a higher standard. I am very picky when it comes to protection work. It had nothing to do with Nathan with Bobby, I have seen her train and she is a fantastic little girl and know she can do it well, its just she didn't have a good day all round. Maybe Nathan needed a few scotches to calm his nerves down. Just a quesiton, was the judge certified? And if so, who certified him? The scoring of the points were not consistant. If a dog does the same mistake throughout each phase, they should have marks deducted and that didn't occur. If a dog is shaking the sleeve on each phase, 2 marks (i think its 2) should be deducted for each phase, not 2 marks once off. Do you understand where I am going with this. Its the same in any event. And well done to Harley and Ilana for taking out the best overall. ;)
  22. Yep, i think its called Gold Coast sports dog club or something similar, some members were at the trials on the weekend with the uniforms on.
  23. I probaby didn't search hard enough, but I found some stuff on the net about CCD and was wondering if this was correct. The following is what I found and the numbers represent the max points that can be gained. Heel on Lead 30 Stand For Examination on lead 10 Recall 20 1 minute Sit Stay 20 2 minute Down Stay 20 MAXIMUM SCORE 100 Less deduction for misbehaviour QUALIFYING SCORE 75 Once your dog has gained 3 qualifying scores of 75 points or more you are now eligible to apply for the Title - Community Companion Dog (C.C.D.). I have some questions, how old does a dog have to be to compete? Is the only stand the stand for examination or is there stands throughout the heeling and if so how many and are they seperate to the sits in phases or are they mixed up within the heel on lead. How far is the recall? 1 min sit and stay - where is the handler standing? is it on or offlead? 2 min drop and stay - where is the handler standing? is it on or offlead?
  24. I have found that this afternoon doing stand training with Kyran that he stands better off lead than on lead. So I am heading down to Sutherland tonight, not for club training, but some practice with him with distractions around.
