  1. A small pup you wouldn't even notice the mark, it would be smaller than 1cm and majority of vets i used generally glued the hole up. The vets would only desex a male dog if both testies are able to be felt/seen. I personally wouldn't let a puppy be desexed if you couldn't feel both, you want the Op to be quick, if the vets dig its a longer Op and more dangerous. A smaller breed would be required to wait until they were 10-12 weeks so they were stronger.
  2. Risk is you as a buyer NOT doing your research.... like buying a puppy with the parents not health tested or you not given papers for the tests from the parents! If you haven't got the time to research and find a ethical breeder. If they promise you papers, GET IT IN WRITING in a contract. You as a buyer have the rights to see the breeders prefix papers and membership details of the CC of the state they are in. What I said isn't going to get papers for the pup, but seriously people need to research.... I Read the breeders section all the time about emails and puppy inquiries. They get emails daily asking HOW MUCH?, not are the parents tested? What are their temps like? Will the pups be on main or limited register? Are they suitable for showing? Is there limitations on the sales? How much grooming is involved? What age will they be fully grown? Would you recommend this breed with young kids? BB I think it is time for you to do your research....
  3. DOGONEMAD is down there www.doggonemad.com.au 0424 673 763
  4. Puppies 8-12 weeks bounce back quicker after being desexed than a older 18 month old. You pick the pup up from the vet early afternoon, by dinner time you wouldn't even know that they were desexed, you just need to contain them to a crate so they don't rip their stitches out... Puppies generally don't need pain killers where the older ones do. If you were going to get the dog desexed as it was a pet and wasn't going to be bred from why would you wait for them to have a season or 2 prior to this happening, can someone explain this please?

    Rex

Just got your email, Lots of Hugs for you Monika. Rex you lived a fantastic life, even if you dug holes and destroyed things hehe, you achieved so much in the ring and understood English and Polish. It is now your turn to help out over the bridge and help the dogs others have lost get by. Run free Rex, Run Free.
  6. Ummm sorry but that is against the rules of ANKC. The breeder must transfer the papers. The breeder you got your dog from just saved themselves some money by having you pay for it and if they did this with every pup (especially in large litters) they are getting away with a small fortune. There is also no way to know for sure that the new owners have done the transfer, which if not the dog is still technically in the breeders name and can be blamed if anything happens. I give a copy of the pedigree in the pups folder and the original pedigree is sent out to them in a few weeks. Have never had a problem doing it this way and have never had buyers question me. Have been doing it this way for 16 years. Leanne Hey Leanne, I never knew that, have you got a reference or link handy you can post in here. I have always received my papers with the breeders signatures on the back in the mail for me to sign and send to Dogs NSW and had to pay for my own transfers of nearly $50 I think per dog.... No names need to be mentioned - "no breeders restrictions", at least the advert has changed from only dogs with major faults should be placed on limited register....
  7. Like my boy, he has (had) Distichiasis which caused constant ulceration which lead to a cataract. The cloudiness has grown nearly accross his entire eye in the last 12 months. There is nothing to fix his blindless in that eye now, too much damage occured by constrat ops when he was 6 months old. He is now 3, doesn't worry him a bit. What sort of dog do you have? SBT same as you.
  8. My boy had 2 x C5's as a pup and got it bad under 5 months of age, the old renbury KC the people that have rescued dogs and pups will know what I am talking about. I visited a breeder 2 weeks ago and haven't been around any other dogs, now he has green snot and a hack... I must have bought it home on clothes. This is the 3rd time he has had it, and he is 3 years old. Has also had C5's yearly. So no vac this year, because he is going to get it regardless of vaccination. The C5 doesn't work and is a total waste of money.
  9. I can't believe she had that small puppy out running in a park... god only knows what it could pick up. Not the brightest of women was she. "we love our animals" well why are they left in a shop all night?? The center managment should have called the RSPCA to take the animals.
  10. There is a fireworks one also, search on google for dog Desensitisation and Counter-conditioning.
  11. They are a retired couple so home nearly every day of the year. And plus they wanted a Papillon as they are still small, but nice looking and easier to travel with in the car than a cat!

  13. There are alot of blind dogs on here, owners will be able to give you advise on how to cope with a blind companion. The DNA tests should take 14 days to come back, I wouldn't really be stressing to much about it your dog can still live a normal happy long life.
  14. I would strongly advise you to get the family to contact the breeder themselves. Most breeders don't like dealing with intermediaries and want to talk to the prospective new home themselves. Helen only has males.
  15. So she will have another 10 years of life left in her?
  16. A SBT breeder will confirm, but doesn't HC start at around the 6 months of age?, so 4 isn't really young. Stolen from a SBT site: Hereditary Cataract in Staffordshire Bull Terriers has been recognised as an inherited condition since the late 1970’s. Affected dogs develop cataracts in both eyes at an early age. The condition is not congenital, so the lenses are normal at birth but cataracts appear at a few weeks to months in age, progressing to total cataract (and resulting blindness) by 2 to 3 years of age.
  17. I would strongly advise you to get the family to contact the breeder themselves. Most breeders don't like dealing with intermediaries and want to talk to the prospective new home themselves. The family will be contacting the breeder directly, just doing the leg work and getting names. I have already got Helens details written down for them.
  18. I am looking for a retired adult papillon for my friends parents who live on a large block in the Sale Area. Desexed Female prefered for a loving companion. What sort of price do retired adults get sold for from breeders? What is the average age that breeders class as retired?
  19. We are driving 18 hour return trip to pick up our new pup in a few weeks, we have been waiting for it for 12 months now. The bitch failed to come into season last year, well missed a season.
  20. We have a double door cupboard in the hall, it is next to the linen cupboard (like a old coat cupboard in the houses built in the 50's). We have placed hooks on the inside of the doors to hang up the leads and collars. Placed all our training vests on hangers and the bite suits are also hanging up with extra strong hangers. Our bite sleeves are hanging one at a time. We have a tack box at the bottom with brushes etc in it. On the top shelf we have 2 hippo's to ensure no moisture destroys anything. Our Euro Joe training tugs are hanging on coat hangers, chairs and unbrella's are there. Our spare crates are under the spare beds. The dog medicine, like washes anticeptic creams and ear cleaner is sitting on the top shelf. We needed to do this as we have so much training equipment. But we still have so much in the spare bedroom and in the back garage. Our house hasn't got enough storage to store it all.
  21. It would probably depend on the area you are in and if there are still mozies around. I have seen the odd one still here.
  22. hmmmm Meaning? I don't think the breeder should have allowed the pup to go. I would have waited and arranged other transport if the thing was that dirty. Neither do I. I would have driven 40 mins to drop the pup off personally. The owner booked the transport and I haven't mentioned the companies name for a reason, because 80% of people on here use them
