The only one I have seen done is the wave across the front of the dogs nose. I am unsure if this is correct or not. -

Can anyone give me pointers, I am having problems with the stand position on my boy. He is perfect when it comes to automatic sits, but when I give him the command stand he is very unsure and gets a little nervous. I have never taught him to stand before, Sunday was the first time. -

Sutherland Shire Dog Training Club
nickojoy replied to nickojoy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Cool thanks Kavik, will look at the Dogs NSW web site to find out more information. -
I was going to go down to sutherland shire dog training club in the morning and check it out. My boys teeth wont be good for another couple of months for the show ring, so thought I could enjoy something else with him. He is 5 months old now. I can take both pedigree and non pedigree dogs? And if I enter a competition with a pedigree and win something, its gets logged onto his papers? Does anyone here train with Sutherland?

If you search for the correct breed name you may find something, as there is no such breed as an English Staffy. You need to search for Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Mate, 2 of mine caught it from the vet a couple of days after their last vac, they also were given a C5. This was only in the last few weeks. My oldest is 2.5years old and he had it when he was 7 weeks old, it was the Renbury KC, with the green snot and hacking up crap. He was never in Renbury, I had bought it home on my clothing....Now he has it again. So it has been proven that once they have it, they can get it again, it doesn't matter how many vac's they have had. I used to give my rescue guys Yakult and give them childrens cough mixture, but not the one with a suppressant, as if they are chesty you want them to bring it up... Something more to sooth it. Vitamin C works, and a few more vegies in their diet. The vet used to give us Doxy for them, its a great anitbiotic which is also used in humans for anti malaria.
-
Remember they are only babies, and at 9 weeks they only have little bellies. My bitch is 13 weeks and she eats 2 meals a day, 1 cup of dried food each meal, and sometimes 3 chicken necks instead of the dried food. If she is feeding them a cup of food a meal, that is alot for the little ones. As Puggy Puggy said, how much are you feeding them a meal?
-
where is this being held?
-
If I give any of my staffords fresh meat or bones they fart, If I only feed them Royal Canin they don't. This applies to the treats, if I give raw treats even a smallest bit, they fart to the point I walk around to see who pooed inside.
-
I have 2 stafford pups, both of them get 1 cup morning and 1 cup night. I feed them Royal Canin. The best thing about it is they don't fart. I also feed them bones during the week that sup a meal.
-
If there was nothing wrong with the dogs and didn't need a complete check up go to the cheaper place, but if you trust your vet and there is something bothering you with either of your dogs go to your vet.

Me too Don't worry MonElite, I'm always hungry! I'm going to be there with Ruth in the cheer squad for our buddy bob.... -
I was at the doctors today reading what effects the vacs have on us humans, and its pretty bad... Fever, headaches, vomiting and joint pain etc. So you can understand why little puppy is not feeling the best.
-
Understanding everything now. Plus I am in NSW. My dogs are staffords so they get tested for HC and L2HGA. So when you guys advertise, do you just say parents DNA tested? And if a clear x carrier is breed from, there is no chance of any of them being affected? If the parents are clear x carrier, there is no use getting a parentage check done? Instead the new owners would get both the HC and L2HGA done? I think by the end of this thread, I will be able to get a job on the GT Pets helpdesk! haha
-
Great tip and its good to know that the dog named **** is ok.
-
Puppy dreams are the best, especially when their legs move and they make funny noises.
-
Thanks, now that explains it all to me. So a breeder that is breeding with a clear x carrier would DNA test the pups prior to registering the litter? Would the price of the carrier pup be cheaper than a clear pup? I'm new to all this DNA stuff, and want to learn as much as I can. Also I have all the GT pets stuff here that arrived in the mail today, has anyone ever had a coat colour testing done (Locus CCT), if so is this to limit the undesired colours or to know what could be produced with a mating?
-
So breeders shouldn't be breeding with a carrier as they should be breeding to improve the breed and breed out the defects of the breed? You have no idea at the end of the day that selling a bitch/dog to someone on limited register and them breeding from it as a BYB.

Ace is 4 months old, if I put him on the seat he throws up everywhere, but if I crate him, he feels more confortable and isn't sick at all.
