Anyone? Pleeeease?
-
We have met many times before, Mia. You will be surprised!
-
I am planning to attend. If anyone needs accommodation, please PM me. I live 10 minutes from Monash.

All three vets agreed it was a synthetic substance. Better out than in!!!

Were representatives from the VCA, ANKC or MDBA invited to speak? That's a question for the Animal Welfare Science Centre. As mentioned above, two of the speakers are registered pure bred breeders. Registered with who to breed what?

Anyone Used Alpha Keri Oil In Dogs Bath?
Elfin replied to 4 Paws's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Would the Alpha Keri Oil be better than Seabreeze Oil for harsh coated dogs? I was going to buy some Seabreeze Oil tomorrow, but if the Alpha Keri is just as good, I might try that as it will be cheaper for 3 giant scruffers! Will it wash out quite easily for shows, or will my crispy coats turn soft'n'silky? -
I have insurance with Pet Plan. One of my crew got a bill for nearly $1000 for an emergency vet trip. Very straight-forward claim. I sent the claim form in the next day. Two months later, they had still not paid. I rang them and got a bit cranky. Cheque was in the mail the next day.

Does anyone have any Group 4 results, please? Or (and I know this is a long-shot!) Deerhound BOB?

Me and my big scruffers will be manning our breed stand. Please come and say helloooooo!!

 at the scarring!!! All down the sides of his face!!! I have never seen such extensive scarring to correct entropion. If the poor dog had been seen by a veterinary ophthalmologist, a much more minor procedure could have helped him.

Thank you, centitout. Deerhounds wouldn't wait for the hunter , but after the hunt were expected to go home and sit by the fire with the children. They have historically been kept in pairs and also work with other dogs, so are also expected to get along with everyone.

You can hunt deer in victoria with bloodhounds and beagles only-if they dont have papers they have to undergo an "assessment" and be passed as mainly bloodhound or beagle. That's really interesting, centitout. Do the beagles and bloodhounds track the deer for the hunters to shoot? That might be the difference as to why people can't hunt deer with Deerhounds (or other breeds).

Fleming Has Bitten Chunks Out Of Himself....
Elfin replied to MadWoofter's topic in General Dog Discussion
Amcal brand Loratidine is good, safe and cheap in an "urgent" situation. Hope the poor guy is feeling better soon. (And the chamomile tea for hoomans works best when followed by a red wine chaser... ) -

Perhaps try to bathe with cold camomile tea? There is another thread at the mo suggesting Mylanta; you could try that, too... Do you have any hayfever medications in the house such as Loratidine? Ask your vet for Cortavance spray - awesome for short term relief of contact allergies! -

It is not legal to hunt deer with dogs in most countries now, but in some places Deerhounds are still used to hunt game. Here in Australia we strive to keep the drive to chase by lure coursing and lure racing our dogs.

And for the third time, will individual breed characterisitcs be taken into account when measuring "amicability"? To use the example for the third time, I would guess an Afghan will respond differently to, say, a Labrador. Will this make one less "suitable for living in Australian society" than the other?

Thank you fifi. It's is hard to strike that balance between a coarse coat and one that is too dry. I will give the Seabreeze Oil a go. Did you spray it on or did you dilute and use it as a rinse?
-
I take my dogs to the beach regularly, about 3 times a week. What should I be doing to stop their coats from drying out from the salt water? At the moment, they get rinsed off when we get home, and every 2nd or 3rd time they get a wash of very dilute Groomers EPO Shampoo. Does anyone have any recommendations of a better routine or product to use?

They are beautiful drawings. I have the Deerhound one from that set. It would be lovely to get the entire set and frame them, though.
