Hi there. I did get a puppy when i was pregnant Thinking puppy with baby no problems. I have three other children all at school so i figured it would be a great time to add the puppy with being at home and when bubs slept i had plenty of time for training. How wrong was i I know my story is completely a rare case but can happen to anyone (but i wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy). I was placed on strict bedrest from early on due to my waters braking. My son was born at 26 weeks gestation. So then with three other kids in tow and a big german shepherd pup we had to stay 3 .5 hours away from home and endure a 4 month NICU stay. We were lucky to have somewhere to stay where we could take our boy with us but NICU left not much time for anything. So if your looking at reasons not to get one and wait til bubs is here There is one for you

After i read the one i posted, The tears were falling and i went and sat with my dogs and gave them cuddles. Now after reading tdierikx link i am the same again. I do agree these kind of things need to be put up in lots of places, just so it might make a few more people realize PETS ARE FOR LIFE.

"Woof!" I said as you started the car, "Hooray!" I said, it's my first time afar. The scents we were passing were all new to me, For it was my first introduction to this mystery. As we got out of the car I embraced you with joy, After all you remembered to bring my favourite toy! You threw it once or twice, of which I retrieved, But on the third it seemed you were ready to leave. You threw it long and hard and I chased it like lightning, But when I turned to bring it back I saw a sight quite frightening. I gripped my toy hard as I tried to comprehend What it was I did wrong to make our relationship end. You walked back to your car as I sat there still loyal. Why am I subservient and you so royal? Your engine started, and you peeled out into the night, You didn't even care about my overwhelming fright. As I sat in my pose determined you would come back, The sun faded behind me while the surroundings turned black. Day after day I stayed in that park, Lying... waiting... too feeble to bark. As I lay there dying thinking of you master, I asked myself how I got into this horrifying disaster. With my last breath of life, I whispered your name Then I collapsed in a heap overrun by pain. Why didn't you love me master? Why didn't you care? Had I no significance, was I just a clump of hair? I stayed there master and I waited for you I guess taking care of me was just too much to do. I'm gone now master, no more You-and-I But what I can't figure out is why you didn't even say goodbye... -Author: Andrew Siegele- DONT ABANDON YOUR PETS. You are their lives !

Ticks are a problem where i am, So if you are going to the shoalhaven i would use either proban or advantix and also do daily checks while you are there.

Thanks guys, I think he cute too! :D . So far Kaos has been a dream in the week that he has been here. first two nights he only woke me up once to go to the toilet, Now i take him out at midnight and we dont here im til 7 am. He has already got sit, drop and shake figured out and it really getting the hang of leave it. Kaos is hopefully going to be my obedience/agility dog, So far he loves his training and loves either food, tug or just pat rewards. I have never used clicker training but it does seem like a great way of training and i have even started using it with my two girls.

Thanks guys, Im pritty sure my vet has the third one aswel so must be 14 weeks. I was just worried about the time differance the vet he was vaccinated through said which if he was done at 6 weeks then again at 12 weeks it seems 6 weeks between was alot i thought it was normally 4 weeks. Both my other dogs had three puppy vaccinations but were only 4 weeks apart.

I have a German Shepherd Puppy that has had his first vaccination at 6 weeks. The vet where he was done at has him due at 12 weeks, then again at 16. My vet i have spoken to said 10 weeks. What age have people got their pups done?

Please remember if you are in a Tick area that ticks can be around all year. Friends dog was found not being able to walk properly yesterday took him to the vet. He thought it was some kind of spider or snake bite. Gave him two injections, told the owners take him home keep him inside and warm and if now improvment bring him back in the morning. When my friend ran me lat night to tell me what had happen i told her to check all over for a tick. She had checked already hadnt found anything and vet had said he didnt think it was a tick. Dog had no improvment went a bit more down hill, went back to the vet and they found a tick. Please keep him in your thoughts he is a beautiful boy an Australian champion and is not in a good way at all.

Thanks for your reply. The breed is a collie(rough) she aparently didnt notice her due to her not being a big bleeder and with all the hair and due to the bad weather . She was a registered breeder of Golden retrivers for many years and has now changed breeds. I havnt spoken to her since she told me she thought she was in welp so i have no idea what she plans to do if she is. I wanted to know mself if they had an age on when the pups could be registered.
-
Hi guys, Just wanting to know is there an age limit on when the bitch is mated to if you are allowed to regiser a litter or does it go on the age of when she whelps the pups? The reason why i am asking is i know someone that is a registered breeder and she thinks tht the male has got to the bitch and she is only 11 months old. It seem to young to me. If she is in whelp is she going to be able to register the litter? Thanks for you time
