  1. Congratulations, she looks proud and gorgeous
  2. we will see It's hardly a laughing matter and the breeder could easily take you to the small claims court. well I outright own the dog, so I don't see how she would have a say in anything, I will speak to my lawyer and see what they say Lawyer would most likely end up being more expensive, especially if taken to Court.....Contracts are contract. But.........Have you tried discussing this with the breeder. She might have other options or ideas. Also even though she might have planned to possibly breed your dog, it might not be what happens anyway. If you are on a Contract you do not own the Dog out right. Is your name on the Certificate of Registration?
  3. From the day they get home............And when I went to teach my dog to do the ladder, she just upped and went. All my dogs also climb logs and such on our walks. It makes a huge difference
  4. I would go to vinnies and several other op shops and find a baby mattress. Or even from new. And just make some washable covers. that is what I do for my newfies. I have also used folded doona's and just made covers. Works fine and is cheap. I buy new ones, but if you are on a budget.........
  5. I have done the same with my newfie and it is amazing how small the amount of wheat has to be, for there to be a problem again
  6. Thanks so much for that! Konrad is an italain greyhound not a regular grey so i imagine that mixture would go further than a few days lol. I forgot to add that if it is related to the type of pancreatitis to add enzymes tothe diet. Now I have finally found some info that i had "hidden" in all my Bookmarks for you to look at and read.....Hope it is relevant and useful http://www.globalspan.net/epi.htm
  7. Microwaved rice/oats/lupins with a very small quantity of meat was what we used for our dog. 1 1/2 cups of rice, 1/2 cup of lupins (peas, beans of any kind) and small amount of meat. Cook on 6 out 0f 10 for 24 min. In a uncovered bowl....when it is cooked add 1/2 cup of oats and stir (whilst hot). Leave to cool , refrigerate and for a Grey you should have several small meals per day for 2 days. Very cheap and it puts on the weight. Low in protein and fat. Mostly carbs. Run it past your vet to check. It was/is successfully used on a GSD with the same, they increased the meat slightly. Also added Vit C, kelp......Good luck
  8. I pray they are found and returned....Have cross-posted on another Forum. And even though we are nowhere nearby, will keep an ear/eye out on any sudden Rottweiler Ownerships
  9. I have seen plenty of very young puppies that are aggressive in puppy classes. And it is sad to say most owners do not realise what is happening and do not work too hard at maybe helping the pup to socialise/train/desensitise.
  10. I have Annabella.......We tend to call her Annabelle, she refuses to come to Bella or Anna, go figure My other dogs have easier names, Katy, Lukey and Tessa
  11. We have a bath which is at waist height for me. we also have some wooden steps that the dogs walk up to into the bath. I find this a great way to wash my newfies. I easily do three in a row. I also have a large grooming table, again with steps up to it. My dogs love being washed and groomed, so just saying bath or table, gets them there
  12. newf's forever......we have had them for the last thirty years, can't see me changing by choice. But if I was unable to afford or have a large dog i would downsize to a black Cocker Spaniel
  13. Thankfully my dogs love being groomed and are very easy to groom. they will stand forever and will jump on their table and into their slightly raised bath. I often use the blower just to give them a quick blast, they will all try to get into position and push one another out of the way for the blower. they love it. I have to brush/comb my dogs weekly and I blow them a lot during the week, it keeps them clean
  14. My dogs self serve apples from trees in our orchard. They love them and play with them too. But my dogs are huge, so i suppose the level of toxicity is relative to the seeds they consume
  15. Congratulations on your puppy! I suppose it depends on the Breed and the individual dog....I have always had my adult newfies and puppies and I always leave them together. My newfies have always taken on the Aunty/Uncle position. Newfies, which I have had as multiple dogs since the eighties, are very friendly toward puppies. I have of course been around them the first few days, but never have i had any issues. But like I said, it might be different in different breeds
  16. My dogs thought the mud was there especially for them .........I wore gumboots at Albury

  18. If you are looking for more people, we went to your Albury Seminar and had a blast and we had a go at the set-up you did at Myrtleford. My dogs love it
  19. Entered, thank you for the opportunity
  20. I don't have numbers either..Only 2 newfies. I was hoping the other newfies would be there again
  21. Just feel his tummy...Is it tight? And if your breeder is close, give them a ring. it could be just warm, but it can also be something else. Stress? Tummy pain? or anything else
  22. : I am so very sorry for your loss.....Another Angel for Rainbow Bridge
  23. I am finding I am more "accepting", for a few days it was just shocked disbelief then I wanted to know why, why, why. And I can now talk about him without crying. It's not the same though, not at all. It never will be and that's what I'm accepting.....the change in the family structure. Eventually we'll get another dog, there'll be more change, a different family structure but hopefully we can restore the balance. I am so sorry for your loss and also to all those who also lost their dear ones. It has been very sad........ I do know what you mean as to how the stucture changes. When we lost our big newfie boy last September we had a bit of o wobble in our canine Family. We took on another big newfie boy and now that we are four again, things have settled down
