I love your photos. I'm another one who loves the one of your cat and Badger. It reminds me of when my cat and dogs play. They love hugging each other. With a bit of a nip here and there

Very sad R.I.P Hugo

Unfortunately there has been a hiccup with the website and it is NOT up and running yet. The Caboolture Kennel Club do apologise to anyone for this inconvenience and we hope to have it rectified soon. Thanks for that. Does anyone know where we can camp for the caboolture show? PM me if you like ;) I really wanted to do the Sunshine coast one on the friday and the two at Caboolture on sat and sun, but it's two hours from my place. Bit far to be driving back and forwards.

Hogwartz, what is the website for Caboolture Kennel Club? I tried the one in the August dog world www.caboolturekennelclub.com and it didn't work. I was going to camp too and it is too far to drive from where I am in Brisbane both days.

I'm glad everything is still on track with a new family for Banshee. They seem like very lovely people. It will be sad but you are doing the right thing.

;) Beat me to it! :D The number of times Ruby has been a "red schnauzer"... Yes, Izzy too - especially as she's schnauzer size.... Do they come in teacup size? this one looks a bit tall and lanky. Maybe something with a flat face, these beards just get to messy Maybe Deshonko can make you one without the beard? :p -

German Shepherd Died In Tragic Accident
Crazy Daisy replied to Riley'n'Mia's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm so sorry for your loss With regards to your daughter, I would definitely tell her the truth. When we lost our Goldie two years ago my kids were 2 and 4. My two year old didn't understand why he wasn't at home but could see that I was upset and that it was OK to be sad that he wasn't there anymore. Again I'm sorry for your loss. -

I noticed you said that oodles were so last year. I stuck the one I bought last year in the backyard and it turned into this... I've now changed my decor. Can you create me something in a darker colour? -
Do Not Walk Your Dog Off Lead!
Crazy Daisy replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
We are in a new estate and there are constantly builders dogs roaming around free. They cause such disturbance to the street as they run up and down in front of our fences and heaven forbid I don't shut the gate the moment I get home, they are running around my front yard and up to the dog run to annoy my dogs. The neighbour has shut their gate and called the council a couple of times to come and pick them up. I would much prefer the owners learn their lesson by getting a fine and have them on a lead when they are on a building site than getting run over by a passing car or truck. -
Interesting, I didn't know we could insure dogs against death. Maybe I need to add that to the contract. thanks I'll see what I can dig up for you. I'm pretty sure if your dog is lost, stolen, or is hit by a car and dies either immediatley or after some treatment; you pay your excess (eg: $250) and the insurance company pays out the price of treatment and purchase price. I saw one offer purchase price up to $20,000. If a bitch dies giving birth though; the companies i was looking at will not cover death or anything related to pregnancy. If the dog is lost; there needs to be proof you tried to get it back eg: flyers, notifyig vets, and if the dog was stolen; you need a police report number. Again; I'll see what I can dig up. Pet insurance is a better alternative to expecting a co-owner to pay the breeder an amount after dealing with the death of a pet. Eg: imagine if someone let your dog out, it was hit by a car, you paid to have it live and it died, you fork out all expenses, suffer heartache and then have to pay the breeder X amount on top of all of that. if it's only for accidents and death; I can't imagine that actual insurance to be too much, althoug the excess might be higher. Pet Plan has death cover in some of their options. Death from illness is in their Supreme dog package and death from accident is covered in their standard and supreme packages. Supreme gets $2000 to cover the purchase price and $1000 for standard. I think that pet insurance is the way to go in this contract.

If she likes gundogs I would say Golden Retriever or Pointer. I have Goldens so can tell you about them They are fine with an hour of exercise a day. They have a lovely calm disposition once they are through the puppy stage. They generally live between 12-15 years (I've lost one at 8 and have a friend who currently has one at 16) You mentioned they don't mind shedding? That's good as they do shed....a lot Just make sure they buy from a reputible breeder that does all the genetic tests (hips, elbows, eyes and heart) and also visit the parents as some Golden lines are more laid back then others. Depending on what she is looking for, if she wants to do dog sports she may be better with one from an agility line. Mine come from lazy stock and are just happy with their once around the show ring

Totally agree

I use a plastic tool box with a removable tray and then I have a Hello Kitty duffle bag I stole from my daughter to have all my show stuff in like number badges, bait bags etc.
-
What it means though is that the majority of people who are breeding are at the low end of the experience end. That's a bit scary. It would be interesting to know which breeds people stay with the longest. Like when there is a fad and everyone is breeding a popular breed vs people who have a not so over bred breed.

I'm glad to hear the surgery went well.

Those graphs are interesting. Do you think that the reason people only breed for 3-5 years is they have one bitch, breed from her twice and then desex and not have another breeding bitch?
