Ruby's have always been my favourite.

I have put very fine chicken wire around the bottom of my dog run and make sure I check it before putting the dogs to bed. We had a few baby snakes recently and was told sulphur keeps them away. I am going to try this and see if it also keep the toads away. Hopefully they won't be around for much longer as it's getting colder.

How Did You Choose Your Breed Or Breed ?
Crazy Daisy replied to jase293's topic in General Dog Discussion
My OH's childhood neighbour is a registered breeder of Golden Retrievers and I was after a loyal, friendly, calm breed that I was also able to enjoy dog sports with. My OH and I wanted children eventually and wanted a dog that would be great around kids and they were perfect. I've lived with three goldens over the years and I currently have one show golden and hope to be getting another one soon. They have definitely become my breed of choice. I also have a Shih Tzu. I have been a dog groomer for nearly 14 years and every pure Shih Tzu I have ever met I have been totally in love with. I adore my little clown and hopefully will always have one in my life. I have a long list of breeds I would love to own one day and when my kids are all teenagers I would love a giant breed, maybe a dane or mastiff. -
Poor Abby. What a horrible thing to have happen. Good Luck at the specialities.

I'm not entered. Oh no Erin, what happened to Abby?

I don't know if it will work for your breed but I use a coat on my goldie to help keep the fuzzys down. I bath and blowdry the day before and then in the morning I spray him with water and conditioner spray and then put a satin lined coat on him for an hour or so and then the hair sits down nicely. I'll try anything to have a sleep in

Which Breed Makes The Cutest Puppies?
Crazy Daisy replied to Henrietta's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think there is nothing cuter than a Shih Tzu puppy. Here's Daisy at 9 weeks Or maybe a beautiful Golden Archer 8 weeks -

I love, love love your photos of sid, Lola and your boys. I especially love the last one of Sid asleep on the floor. Very adorable. And whoever commented earlier in the thread that he looks like Friar Tuck with the little black cap..... I couldn't agree more. Too cute. Congratulations

I think they're horrible. Those poor dogs having water blasted into their face and eyes, not to mention being locked in a box! I would hope there was a safety mechanism so you could stop it quickly and get your pet out if they started to panic. I also agree that 20 mins seems a long time, especially when the first dog still came out damp. Having said all that, that Stafford is just adorable I love his singing.

Wow there are some stunners in here. I love the newfie

at your spin Monah. At least you know he has a soft mouth. I did wipe out his mouth with a wet washer that is always on standby because of the dreaded cane toads. Normally the tree frogs stay well away from the dogs area, this one must have been looking for an adventure. I can't believe how many poor frogs get eaten alive. :D
-
A whole rabbit! That would of hurt going down.
-
I like Rebus too
-
That makes me feel better, thanks Puppy sniffer. I love the tree frogs around here, much nicer than those gross cane toads I nearly step on every time I take the garbage out!

I went out to feed the dogs and see a baby green tree frog jump out of the laundry with Archer in Hot pursuit. I race out after him to see him catch the frog and eat it. I pry open his mouth but the poor frog is gone While I'm telling him how naughty that was he runs to the grass and starts vomiting and up comes the frog. I go and get the dustpan and........it's still alive I poured cold water on it and put it in the garden well away from the dog run. Poor little froggy being eaten by a Golden. Let's hope he lives to tell the tale. Has anyone else's dog eaten something that came back up alive?

Need Help Choosing A P & S Camera
Crazy Daisy replied to Crazy Daisy's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
It took great photos outside on a bright day if the object was still. The rest of the time it seems the subject I was taking a photo of was a bit fuzzy. Maybe wishy washy, if you know what I mean? I have three young kids and I want to be able to catch them doing something without having it come out in a blur. Here is one of the photos from the Samsung.....not crisp enough for me. -
Need Help Choosing A P & S Camera

I'll have a look at those thanks. Budget wise I guess the Nikon would be near the top of my price bracket at $265 (through another camera shop, not dick smith) -
Well my camera has died thanks to OH taking it on a road trip through Alice Springs. I'm not great at taking photos, my main problem is I shake. I have nerve damage in both arms and find some cameras too heavy to hold and some of the small ones too uncomfortable. I went and had a look at a Nikon L120 at dick smith this morning when I was doing the shopping and found it quite comfortable to hold. Has anyone got one of these? Here's a link http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/nik...ix_l120_review/ Is one brand better than another? My last one was a freebie through OH's work, it was a Samsung and took crap photos. Any help is appreciated.

We went from a large 4x4 to a small hatch and our dogs won't fit in the back (not to mention I don't want Golden hair all through the new car). I looked into converting a box trailer and spoke to lots of people who have done it successfully but all said they wouldn't do it again as it worked out cheaper to buy a second hand dog trailer. This is what I have. A small four berth dog trailer that fits one Golden and a Shih Tzu down one side (it opens up to make two very large bays) with all my gear down the other and the crate (I have a large collapsible one) and table secured at the front. We are getting another Golden this year and will have less room in the trailer for camping gear so are looking at getting a roof rack basket for on top of the trailer.

Dog Breeds Associated With Brands Or Products
Crazy Daisy replied to Dxenion's topic in General Dog Discussion
They use a Golden Retriever in the Supercoat dog food ads as well as the adult dog food. The original Golden was my boys Grandpa Much cuter than the current one they use. -
He is gorgeous. Happy Birthday Mr Badger.
