Ocd In Medium Sized 5 Month Old Pup.
rebelsquest replied to Pillow's topic in General Dog Discussion
OCD is not necessarily genetic - rapid growth, nutrition and how the pup is raised can all play a part, in my understanding. -
Thank you very much Sway

We stayed at Avina last year for the Royal. Maybe give them a call.

Dogs Vic just posted on their FB page that Jill Hocking will replace Mr K Lee as judge tomorrow.

Hehe, we are taking a couple over to the Mt Gambier Easter shows, and the SA grey contingent have been swanning about in Europe after attending Crufts! :D
-
Thank you!!!!!!!
-
Would you be able to post which greyhounds are entered please if not too much trouble?
-
Tralee, I don't understand your comment about having to film your dogs to prevent corruption and incompetence?
-
Congratulations to the winners, and to everyone who was invited to attend.

How To Find A Dog-friendly Rental In Melbourne ?
rebelsquest replied to LabsRock61a's topic in General Dog Discussion
Inner west seems to have quite a few pet friendly rentals. Most of them are listed on realestate.com.au as pet friendly. Century 21 at Williamstown are one agent who seem to list quite a few pet friendly rentals. -
Oh terrific. Just what we need, a hegemonony of oppression and discrimination. As it stands at the moment, there are a number of them out there as a disaster waiting to happen. If the correct temperament for the breed, means that it will not readily accept the hands of a stranger ( which is required in the ring ) then perhaps it is best that they are not shown. If dulling and dumbing it down is the sacrafice that has to be made in order to achieve a "show dog" then that's certainly not in the best interests of the breed. There is no oppression or disrimination involved, the ring is not place for a dog that cannot be judged according to Australian ring standards. As I recall you've had problems with your dogs in the past in the ring. Have I? Which dog has been banned? I am sure dogs have been banned, and quite a large number of them, but none of my dogs. It is clear that you are aligning yourself against the dogs and therefore your judgment cannot be trusted. I would simly hope that you do not have a casting vote on any board or council in which I am directly connected. I think this is: Good Day Ma'am

Congratulations!!!!! You will have to post photos at some stage :)

No one said anything about performing endless circus tricks Tralee. But if a judge cannot lay hands on a certain breed of dog, then maybe that breed should be kept for its working purpose, and not put through the ordeal of showing.

Are you showing the greys? Have fun :)

I am hardly an expert handler, but will add my two cents :). This will sound corny, but I'm big on visualising your goal. I mentally visualise myself and my dog winning classes in group/show, and after I started that tactic the wins began to happen. I have done this with one dog and not with the other, so am now making an effort to try and do it with the second dog too. I think it helps in that you begin to have that self belief that you can win, which other people have touched on. You go in to the ring with a different mindset, because you have already played it over in your head, it is something like a self fulfilling prophecy. Watching video back is another fantastic tool to work out what you could be doing better.

Minbeemedia was there, but not the official photographer, so not sure if they got too many shots.
