Morning Everyone Our 6 month old boxer cross bull terrier is currently on pro-plan puppy, we cannot afford it anymore and are looking to put her on a more affordable food. at the moment were tossing up between optium puppy, bonnie puppy, or uncle albers/ great Barko. I wasnt sure if uncle albers and great barko are suitable for a puppy though? any advice/feedback would be much appreciated thanks!

hello everyone thanks for all your replies! puppy is well, very cute and getting bigger by the minute, she is currently still on EVO dry food and we mix in puppy milk at night and then have been starting to give her bones, which she loves, we are thinking of starting her on Purina dry food as that was recommended by someone at pet superstore, has anyone used it before?

Kelpie_Pup- haha yes i know, you are right they are irrational fears! we dont want to leave the 2 dogs together yet because of the size difference, if the pup accidently gets hurt molasseslass- yes i didnt think they had that thought process either my OH just worries to much! yes we should just give it a go and possible do it at night time and supervise!

hello everyone this might sound a bit silly, but my OH is worrying about this and i wanted to reassure him we have a 12 week old bull terrier x boxer called Harlo, who we feel is bored in the laundry whilst were at work (9-3pm) i suggested to my OH that we put her outside in the dog run we got her, but hes worried that harlo will get upset as she is outside in the dog run whilst our other dog Lily(blue heelerx ridgeback) is running around the yard freely, hes worried that Harlo will start to hate lily because she gets to run around free in the backyard and she is in her dog run, and says that if shes in the laundry at least she doesnt know that haha? has anyone else had a puppy in the dog run and the other dog in the backyard? sorry this is quite silly but this is our first puppy and we are total stress-heads! thanks in advance!

thank you for all your advice! i think i will try advance puppy also ive been reading through other forums and people are saying they feed their dogs cottage cheese, goats milk, natural yogurt and sardines i thought that dogs are lactose intolerant so no dairy and that you are not meant to feed them fish (sardines)?? am i wrong?

ohhhhh its hard isnt it, the day after i got my little puppy, i had to go back to work i was so worried the whole day and couldnt think of anything else besides her, i was worried she might die from crying haha but when my partner went home 2 hours after we left her she was asleep. you have to try not to worry, the reason they cry for you is because in the wild if a pup is left behind they will cry and cry until their mum comes back, eveentually she will relise she will be ok and then get used to it. shes still settling in as well dont worry she'll be fine

thank you for all your information, yer we did buy EVO from pp and i knew that they were only selling it to me because they profit from it. after joining DOL i have turned quite against pet shops after reading some of the posts, they are not a good idea and do promote impulse buying, which is what my partner and myself did, but oh well we love her so much now and want whats best for her!

im worried that she might choke on chicken wings and necks :S or that her teeth are not strong enough yes we want her to have a good temperment and are taking her to her first puppy class tomorrow very exciting so we should just feed dry food morning, lunch and dinner and then chicken wings etc as snacks?

hello dog lovers my puppy is an 11 week old bull terrier x boxer and we have been feeding her EVO dry food which was recommended at the pet shop. we heard that if they eat dry food you should just keep them on that forever but we wanted to do half dry and half can. or is it better to just do dry? at the moment we are mixing pedigree puppy can food with the evo and she seems to be ok with that, but im worried because ive heard pedigree puppy is not that good for them and can make them sick. what should i feed her? and should i vary with different foods? thanks for your help

thanks for all your feedback no the puppy hasnt drawn blood, they may be just playing it just gets out of hand and recently the puppy seems alot more agressive towards the older dog. i thought it was playing but then a couple people have said they've never seen a puppy be like that with a big dog!
-
yes we are taking it to puppy pre-school next saturday i'm hoping that will work my boyfriend wont let a behaviourist come in as he thinks he knows best and the puppy is just playing which is true though its a bit aggressive for my liking and because of the breed it even more worrying..

hello everyone i'm really worried, but not sure if im over-reacting i have a 10 week old bull terrierx boxer, who is very aggressive with our 8 year old red heeler although the heeler is 5 times the puppies size, she will always run to the heeler and start biting it and jumping all over it. the heeler will play back but not bite or anything recently the bull terrier has started to make really agressive noise towrds the heeler when their fighting and will not back down, all she wants to do is fight with it, she will never just sit and relax with her should i be worried i dont want her to be an aggressive dog, what should i do? thanks in advance
