  1. Hope the harness and collars are good for sizing and enough adjustment in them.
  2. Likewise any Grp 2?? Hey only 35 in grp, maybe all scratched
  3. My Aussies live with Kelpies, although only one at the moment, and some of their best friends are Danes. Don't forget Aussies don't think that they are small ;) !! Now that you have an Aussie you may not want any other breed. Who is your Aussie from?
  4. Does anyone know if their stall at the Melb Royal show was open today? They were evidently told they would have to shut up shop yesterday even though they weren't selling their pet dry food (conflict with a major sponsor??), they did have treats and shampoos/grooming products on the stand.
  5. Thanks for heads up, Eastlink then Eastern looking better proposition then. Link for further info- http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/TrafficAndRoadConditions/RoadworksAndPlannedEvents/
  6. Presume you will be there Sunday, so I will come and see you with Aussie results, think we may be clashing for judging time.
  7. Just curious, why are you giving Interceptor only every six weeks when the dosage is monthly? Surely the effectiveness would be decreased by lowering the dosage
  8. Where I used to work there was a bikie that came in regularly with his 2 chihuahuas, diamente collars and pink harnesses. Always brought a smile to our faces, he absolutely adored them. Aussie terriers are a lot harder to handle than the kelpies and dobes that I've had.
  9. Grp 2 BIG Aussie (John's US Import) RUBIG Lakeland (Damien)
  10. Congratulations, so glad all safe and well and that no harm came to any of them.
  11. I had a customer in today whose dog may have Lupus, cultures are being done to confirm this, does anyone have experience with this? The dog presented with a severe ear infection, so the vet cleaned out the ear passage and prescribed ear drops and antibiotics, after a week and no inprovement the dog started to get rashes around the lips and eyes, with swelling in the ears and around eyes. After three vets having a look and none being familiar with what they were seeing, they decided it wasn't an allergic reaction and hence looked towards Lupus. The dog is now on cortisone and antibiotics, awaiting outcome of tests. It is a 9 month old bitch desexed, lab x poodle. Any ideas if this may be Lupus or other suggestions of possible problem. Thanks in advance.
  12. Sorry you lost the little guy but as you said you made the right decision
  13. Sounds like a very happy energetic pup, I would be more worried about forced exercise than free running, as has been suggested if it worries you then crate him for a while to give him some down time.
  14. I had a customer that couldn't handle her dog eating the cat's poo, so I suggested she try sprinkling cat litter deodoriser powder on the litter, the dog hated the smell but it didn't bother the cat. Problem fixed.
  15. I heard that Rudducks was going to stop distributing Rotations as it hadn't taken off as they hoped for.
  16. Hi, yes the Ecopet is fine, it will have a "best before" date on it, if it is off the wrapper will be swelling and the loaf will stink to high heavens, I quite often take home the out of date ones that the customers are funny about buying and the dogs aren't adversely affected and don't worry at all about devouring it, remember dogs often like things that are foul to us There are dry foods on the market that are heaps better than Supercoat, nutrition wise, but really the best food is the one that works best for your dog. Look at the ingredients and make sure meat is first mentioned especially as you are trying to get weight off your dogs, need to keep the carbs and fats on the lower side. May be worth cutting out the dry food for a while and just feed Ecopet, see if that helps with their weight, how are they going by the way?
  17. All dogs I've had love fruit of all types, worst thing has ever happened if they eat too much is a case of the runs
  18. Well at the moment she's only just approaching 16 weeks so I haven't really started grooming her as I don't know if I should yet -- won't she still be in the process of losing her puppy coat? Also Kirah is my first real wire coat dog that is fully my responsibility so I really know nothing about grooming and stripping or how to go about learning (or if I even need to this for my dog's maintenance). I know with Poochie my parents didn't do anything other than bathe her and when I was old enough to take over her care I still didn't know anything (or even know this forum existed!). Poochie was never clipped or stripped and only washed and combed (and occasionally the really tangled bits needed to be cut off) and that's about it. I feel like we must've neglected her in the grooming department. Sorry Poochie-Pie! Will check it out. Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely look into it before her next bath -- which will be soon as she's starting to get a bit fresh! Start stripping the puppy coat out so that the new coat can come through. Maybe get your breeder to show you how to if possible. If you have a look at this site about grooming, it may help: http://australianterrierclubnsw.com/grooming.html
  19. Distributor is Prestige Pets, so ask your local pet store if they deal with them. Otherwise Petnetwork: http://www.petnetwork.com.au/cgi-bin/shopping.pl?page=biogroom.htm&cart_id=864166 As Becks has posted don't use conditioner of any type as it softens the coat.
  20. Biogroom Wiry Coat, this is what I use and know other Aussie show people that use it also, as mine are washed every couple of weeks for shows (and being indoor when we are home) I usually dilute it approx 1:4.
