  1. Its so nice to hear of wonderful caring stories like this, after I was just reading about animal abuse here. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. The Sibe is gorgeous ;) BF
  2. Danielle ~ Your a true friend to come in here and ask for help for her. I'm sorry you got some flak over it, which was never warranted as you did everything right. There should be more people like you How is this lady going to explain the lump on the pups head? No one is going to believe she didn't do anything to cause this herself. Plus people are going to ask why she hasn't taken it to the vet to have it checked......so this lady is giving away a free puppy, that may or may not have issues, but does have a medical issue that needs to be looked at asap!!! I'm sorry, but this lady needs a bloody good shaking BF
  3. When I went through the shop it came to $20 total for the book and postage....this is very confusing BF
  4. Un-bel-eivable.......OMG I'm speechless...... BF
  5. Sorry I haven't been here in ages, but life passes by so quickly when you aren't paying it too much attention Wow all the gorgeous new puppies to come and those that are here. Zoe is now an amazing 6 1/2 months old. She has already been desexed and though she is just getting over a really bad stomach bug, she is back to her normal self Here are some pictures: She loved helping OH rip out the old kitchen. Zoe with her best friend Shadow With her "I didn't do anything" face. Those wanting to puppy proof their homes....remember to get down on the floor and look around at what you can see, is amazing what more you can see a pup get to from the floor view that you miss while looking around standing up. Zoe no longer sleeps in her crate, she prefers to sleep on the lounge, and she sleeps all night from our bed time about 10-11pm til we get up at 7am (school days) 8-9am (weekends and holidays). And no more accidents to clean up.... I now throw all Zoe's toys in the crate and she spends days going in and selecting a toy to bring out and play with....now just to teach her to put them back when she is finished playing with them I hope everyone is doing fine and the countdown is a short one. BF
  6. I too paid via DD. It asks you on the MDBA for a username and password, then it asks you for your address details. I used the same username as here, and I used "Bluefairy" as my reference on the DD. So thanks Julie, I was beginning to think I'd done it wrong. All paid for mine now. BF
  7. I have, and would never do it again. I'd always go for the more knowledgeable and experienced breeder. BF
  8. I have had 2 beautiful Aussie Bulldogs, they have a fantastic gentle temperament. My first one Jessie I got from the original founder of the breed in QLD and she was fantastic with flying the dog out and sending out to me all the vet certificates, and ancestry papers. Jessie was everything to us and she lived a very happy and healthy life for 8 years until she passed away with bowel cancer. I paid $1200 for her back then. My second Aussie I got from SA, from a breeder listed on the Club web site. Annie was a bigger dog than Jessie, we never saw her father only pictures. The mum was the imagine of Jessie. So we got a receipt for our $1200, the paperwork and vet certificates etc. We found out later this was the breeders first ever litter, and she never bred again....not to my knowledge anyway. Annie turned out to be a largish dog, who looked more pit bull than Aussie Bulldog. She was vomiting on and off a week or so after we got her, but put it always down to what she was eating (anything she got her mouth around), change of diets (trying to find the one to stop the vomiting and diarrhea) under vet care the whole time. She had $1,000's worth of tests and we were still no better off knowing what was wrong. The last load of BT said she had cancer. So instead of putting her through more of these invasive tests and the ill health she had suffered since we got her, we put her to sleep. She was only 11 months old. I told her breeder, and she said if she had another mating she would offer us another pup, but I said no....2 dogs of the same breed, both having cancer.....I couldn't do it again. I chose another breed. I wanted the stubby nose, so opted for a Pug I just wanted to say how sorry I am about your pup. There is an Aussie Bulldog group on FB and quite a few of them have health problems, I was not aware of this when I bought mine. I also wanted to say I think $2,000 for an Aussie is outrageous. The most I have seen them sold within the club is $1200, most are $1000. Good Luck getting your money back. BF
  9. Zoe, my pug, also likes to 'inhale' food. She was being fed a small size dry food, but I found she never chewed it. I have now got her on the slightly larger size biscuits and she has to chew these to eat, and she doesn't seem to suck them in like she did the other food. I haven't given her any bones yet, but she does love to chew her kong, and nyla bone. BF
  10. Annie, my last dog used to watch enthralled when dogs barked or made a noise on the TV. But Zoe just looks then goes back to sleep....it doesn't bother her at all. BF
  11. I have tried and tried to follow instructions on how to do a signature but I just can't seem to get it.....and I am always had to ask someone to help me :p Can someone do me a signature of my 4 legged friends? Zoe was born on 13th January 2010, if you want just their names are fine. Shadow was born on 27th April 2006 BF
  12. Nic ~ Zoe is going well. She has learnt to sit on the top of her steps (the one I got her so she can get on the lounge) and just moan and cry when she see's us eating snacks in the lounge.....its kinda of heartbreaking, but she isn't getting any She knows she will get a snack like a schmacko's when we are not eating. Plus now as soon as you put her food on the stand she sits automatically and waits to be told to "go". Its so cute. I keep forgetting to bring the camera inside to take more pictures of my little heifer....she has gained weight and size... Oh and Zoe averages going to the toilet every 3-4hrs and she is 19 weeks. At night she can wait it out about 6hrs, but she doesn't have a water bowl to make her go. Borderfan ~ I hope this 'friend' is willing to take responsibility if this pup attacks someone else....ghee what a nightmare. I'm glad they aren't your real friends, so you can distance yourself. If it was my dog I'd be too worried about the dog attacking the new owners or their children....I have an idea they didn't reveal all to them either Its scary to even think about it. BF
  13. Can I have one? Where do I pay for it and give my details? BF
  14. Borderfan ~ I think your friend would find it hard to rehome a dog that has attacked and killed another animal, especially while it was being held by a child and then turning on and biting its owners. I think the only thing they can do is get a trainer in or have the dog put to sleep. You cannot expect anyone else to take in this dog that has already shown aggression towards other animals and its owners. That would be a disaster waiting to happen. A bullmastiff is a huge powerful dog and at 10 months its almost fully grown, to show aggression would be sounding off alarm bells for me. Bailey is so cute and the name fits. Tokki ~ Nandi is gorgeous I love the pic of her sitting on her hunches. BF
  15. What made you choose your favourite breed? My favourite breeds will always be the Rotti. I have owned several, and they are just the most gentle giants I have ever come across. I would have one now, but I just don't have the room or the energy anymore to own them. I so wish I could. I have a Pug at the moment who is just perfect for us, size wise and energy wise. Her name is Zoe, she's in my signature. What do you love about them? Rotti ~ They are such a placid gentle dog. I have never had one growl or bite. They are very obedient to command and are great at training. They can protect you one minute and they are like a teddy bear the next. I have never loved a breed more than Rotti's. Pugs ~ They are a bundle of energy one minute and snoring the next. If they can they will lord over you, so you have to show them who's boss....well try to. Its very hard when they are looking at you with those huge puddling eyes and that sad face, and you can just hear the slight crying coming from them..... Do you currently own this breed or want to? Rotti ~ Unfortunately I don't have the room or yard to house a Rotti anymore, plus they need more exercise than I am able to give. Pug ~ Yes I do. Zoe is now 19wks old and is the love of my life. She fits into our family perfectly, when I want to play she is ready, when I want to just laze around or snooze she's there as well. She's a great companion. BF
  16. Wow you people can talk Congrats to the new puppy owners to be.... Congrats to the new puppy owners here and now And hello to those zombie walkers who puppies wake them up too early... don't worry your not alone, Zoe has started waking at 5am..... I thought I was going to end up with another trip to the vet, Zoe was squinting on her left eye, I had a quick look I couldn't see any damage or bleeding. So I thought if its still like that after lunch I'll take her in....so lunch time came and she is still squinting and trying hard not to open her eye, so while she was laying down I put her on her side and opened her eye to have a look around....nothing....then I noticed something black in the corner of her eye....I got a tissue and wiped her eye and it came out. It looked and felt like a tiny sliver of wood, about 2mm long. Since then she has stopped squinting....thank heavens. Zoe's problem is she goes around sniffing everything, then she blows it out again through her nose, so she has more than likely blown it into her eye. She has a bad habit of shoving her nose into the ash on the hearth (when we have forgotten to clean it straight away) and she comes away with this grey nose and muzzle....she looks so funny, as you know darn well where she has been....naughty girl. So this little bit that went in her eye could have come from there.....ghee what a worry she is becoming...but I suppose it will get worse as she gets older I'm not sure my nerves can stand it BF
  17. I have a pet rug on the back seat and Zoe sits on that with a harness connected to the seatbelt. We do have a cargo barrier, but she likes sleeping in the back seat :D BF
  18. Love it. Its so nice to see them on the thicker size of life :D BF
  19. Oakeydoak ~ I have had my rings cleaned, and one has had to go and get made thicker on the band (why it was made paper thin is beyond me). So I am waiting for all of them to come back. I cannot seem to get rid of a red ring around my finger though, its not itchy anymore, and it looks ok but the ring around the finger has turned a pinky colour. I might have to go back to the Drs to see if it has cleared up first before putting the rings on again. I'll get there in the end. I love Lucy and Banjo, they are gorgeous dogs, including the cute little kid Nic ~ With OH I gave up putting my Birthday on the calendar, every year he'd forget and every year I got nothing, but a rushed out to get card how hard after 15 years is it to remember its 4 days after yours He did make an effort to remember this year though, so thats something And yes Zoe's eyes are perfect again, thanks. Thank you for the well wishes BF
  20. Yvette ~ All pups are gorgeous, and seeing as you can't take them all home, its a hard decision to pick only one. I was lucky as the breeder only had one pup left so the decision was made for us, though she is the perfect pup for us. Lily ~ Yah at Jasper being home. Now the fun begins... Nic ~ I'm glad Zoe loves to sleep and lots of naps during the day. When she is awake she's full on, but I take a nice sigh of relief knowing when she settles down and snuggle in to someone or something We are not an active family, all us girls are computer nerds and OH is into hands on work. Michelle ~ Georgia is gorgeous and certainly growing up. I have never been a fan of giving dogs bones, I would never give a Pug chicken necks as they tend to swallow everything whole, and I know of a few that have choked on them and 1 that actually died from eating them. I just won't take the chance. When Zoe finally gets the yard to herself (a secure yard I mean) then I will buy her some larger bones to chew on and she can leave them outside. Its OH and my 11th Anniversary tomorrow, we've been together for 16 years Even though its marked on the calendar OH has forgotten, the look of utter shock on his face when my parents sent a card today said it all....typical. Oh well, I have got him a set of Wood Lathe Tools.....they are gigantic, and loads of books on how to use a Wood Lathe and patterns to make things. So that should keep him busy BF
  21. Michelle ~ Unfortunately there isn't much you can do when a puppy is teething, other than give them something hard and soft to chew on. Zoe has claimed all the cat toys too, even the cat tunnel is her haven....poor Shadow. Zoe is teething but its not bothering her any, but she has tons of chew toys and biscuits now and again. I haven't given her any bones yet, mine see if I can get some cut up. Damo ~ Totally agree about the vacuum cleaners at meal times....well anytime, Zoe wonders the house sniffing and eating anything that looks interesting. I am forever removing what she eats from her mouth ARGH!!! Zoe woke up this morning, I was unbelievably tired, but got dressed, went into the lounge to get her out and checked the clock 5 friggin am....I could have killed her. So I made a hot cuppa sat myself on the lounge and watched TV, much to Zoe's disgust I wouldn't get up and get her breakfast so she chased the cat and then sat on the other lounge chair watching me in case I decided to get her breakfast when she wasn't looking.....Grrrrrr BF
  22. Lily ~ Yes Zoe's eye has healed beautifully thank you. I like it here so I might stay a while I agree the last few days are the worst, you want time to fly, but your scared to death of the what if's too....makes for a very nervous time. Good Luck. Nushie ~ Jager, is just adorable. As for the weeing, Zoe still sniffs everything and just wee's, though sometimes, and I mean only sometimes she will get your attention. So its a watch him like a hawk to see what he does just before he wee's or poo's, if he does this same thing most of the time, this is your clue as to knowing he is about to go. We get one maybe two accidents a week from Zoe, but only wee's. She only ever poo's outside. I have made it a rule after she has done her business outside to ask her if she has "finished" (I only say the word finished?).....if she has she runs towards the steps to get inside I know she has....if she continues to walk around I'll wait a while longer, and 9 out of 10 times it is worth it. Shadow decided to lay down on OH's chair last night. I think she forgot that the steps were against the chair too. After about 10 minutes of playing, sniffing, chewing....Zoe decided it was time for her nap, she climbed the steps and laid down next to Shadow. The cat was tapping Zoe in the head, Zoe turned her head upside down and tapped Shadow on the head and they just did this for about 10 minutes. Then mean Zoe decided to move over to Shadow and Shadow didn't like it so jumped off. I could of kicked myself for not having my camera handy. I must get a pic of them together. Its so cute. At least now they are on the same chair..... BF
  23. Hi I answered in the Puppy Waiting thread. Zoe cried for hours for 2-3 weeks until she finally got it. What finally got her quiet (I forgot this) I used one of my old jumpers and put it in the crate with her at night, for you do it during the day while you are at work. If you have to wash it you will have to re-wear it (sorry). So your scent gets on it again for the next time. Zoe only used it for like 3 days and thats it she stopped. I too tried a wheat bag but it never worked. Zoe wouldn't play with her toys either, and she wouldn't even eat her treats in the crate, she would wait until she came out and bring the treat with her and eat it on her bed. good luck. BF
  24. I couldn't get the dry food my breeder was giving Zoe, so I got her the best I could get, Supercoat. But it gave her the runs, after taking her to the vets to be checked out before trying something new, the vet suggested Royal Canin, she has been on this now for the 8 weeks we have had her, she loves it, and no runs. As she likes it so much and her coat is so soft and she's very healthy I'll stick with this. I think you have to work out what is best for your dog within your budget. Just make sure its the best you can afford to buy. BF
  25. I'm like the other posters here....I have no idea how you can prove the photo copies of the registration papers of the pups parents are indeed your pups parents. Without a registration paper either limited or main, stamped and dated on official paper, that states your pups kennel name and the name of both the parents and grandparents etc. There is NOTHING to prove your dog has those parents, which is one reason for not getting papers with your pup. My pup was bought as a pet, but she is on Main register. The Limited and Main Registered pups were the same. I wanted Limited but she was the last of the litter so got the bonus of Main. I can show or breed her if I want, but she will be desexed asap and I don't have the time to show her. So no they don't always mean differing prices. BF
