wow this is not a good thread to be reading while at work!!
-
oh oh you can use colours? our vet said to stick with the white, but colours!! go pink!!
-
I use regular zinc, our vet said it would be ok I also use that filtabac stuff which i also use on cuts etc. but he licks it off so fast i wonder if its working on his nose, he does like the zinc off quick to but it does seem to stay on a little bit longer...

How Does Your Dog Get Your Attention?
dandybrush replied to haylz27's topic in General Dog Discussion
if raz wants a pat he will come over and nudge me, in my side (that tickles) or my arm or he will just rest his head on me till i pat him. If he wants to play he wont let me touch him when i go to pat, he will jump away and wag his tail and stare at me, then if i dont respond he starts play bowing and maybe a couple of barks lol -
omg the lengths pple go to, when raz was a baby and it was raining, I used to have to go stand in the rain with him, then it progressed to i could stand in the patio and he would run out, now if its light rain he will go out on his own, if its bucketing, he waits for the light rain, when its a constant heavy i still have to go stand in the patio and wait with him till he gets the courage to run out in it to pee lol. but he jumps from undercover to next undercover lol, he copies us when we have to run outside

I would love to work with animals also, have considered vet nursing, but cant afford the course atm Maybe i should go to some shelters and see about volunteering...*shrug* i think it would be nice to do it with someone though
-
my boy is in a heavy wire crate with no handle...sux carrying it to agility, he also has a soft light crate, but im not going to move him into that one till he is better behaved at agility...i dont want him destryoing it
-
I would definatley suggest you get him into a crate more than a few days before, possibley make it the comfiest place in the room he sleeps in, get him liking it first then try locking him in it for short periods

the only place i would recommend is Urban Dog Training, they train at um, carina/carindale (not sure of area) on creek road

Best Clip Made About Fighting Bsl! Caution, Graphic.
dandybrush replied to Beaglelover:)'s topic in General Dog Discussion
thank you for posting that, it has made me realise i do not "hate the pit bulls" i "hate the crappy pit bull owners", they look like they can be such loving family dogs with the right training edited to say: how sad i feel at the inhumane treatment shown on that video and how no matter what breed, they do not deserve to be treated like that -
my heart goes out to you to help ease your pain and save your happy memories so she shall live with you forever. I am terribly sorry for your loss
-
i dont like face lickers, so raz got taught not to do that early on...and licking in general...i think he would lick if he was allowed, sometimes he gets a few licks in ;)

What Do You Use To Walk Your Dog And Why?
dandybrush replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
most of our walking is on a flat collar and leash, I do always carry a halti for when we go somewhere new/exciting and he starts to pull the halti goes on, he is just too strong -
...i've never given raz an egg shell, i mix the raw egg in his dinner sometimes for flavour...is there goodness or something in the shell?
-
I do agility with him, and i believe there are ticks around, not a major tick prob area though, i think i might look into changing to pia or pet plan...
-
yep i remember reading that on petplan too about insurance for the life of the dog thanx terra
-
Ok i was just wondering who has pet insurance for their dog, and who are they with I am with medibank but have been doing research on PIA and Pet Plan the differences i have found: medibank -pays more on tick treatment -pay $12 000 annual limit petplan -pays $14000 annual limit is the only one that covers - natural medicines - theft/straying and reward for lost/stolen dog PIA -pays $15 000 annual limit both pia and petplan have routine care cover (I think) no one covers for existing conditions or conditions that can be vaccinated against I was just wondering who has used their dog cover and if the company was easy/hard to deal with... I pay $12.88 a fortnight and on the other plans i would be looking at about $20 a fortnight and am just wondering if its worth it to pay more, of if what i have raz on now is sufficient... just curious of others experiences

Dogs That Sleep In The House - Question On Times
dandybrush replied to JulesP's topic in General Dog Discussion
my boy sleeps in our room from about 9pm through to 7am, I actually dont know when he last goes to toilet, prob around 7pm after dinner...but he doesnt disturb us or get up to pee until about 8am (if im having a sleep in) if he does have to go he just makes a bit of noise i let him out and he does his business and is straight back in, we do now have a doggy door, but he never used it overnight, unless we are not home and he is sleepign in the laundry -
oh wow poor charlie!! i didnt know he was sick poor pup, hes only a baby too
-
the only vet i would recommend southside is Animal Options at Ormeau definatley worth a look up, they have helped numerous friends dogs, they do natural medicine (dunno what to call it) and regular medicine too
-
the only thing i would have done differently is crate trained him as soon as i got him home, im taking him to agility he is not really crate trained but has his time outs and dinners etc in one but at agility he just whinges when he is in his crate...if he was trained i think he would be alot calmer/quiter in it
