Boarding Kennels / Petsitting Near Brisbane
dandybrush replied to loeka's topic in General Dog Discussion
ok my boy loves to go to Animal world pet motel at cornubia, however the dogs sleep in kennels outside, so he barks (because he is an inside dog) but there they have approx 6 runs to a grassy patch and during the day the dogs are free to play with each other on the grass. because of the inside thing he has since been to Bark Royal at nerang, where they sleep inside, they have "luxury suites" and regular runs all inside, they go outside in the morning and afternoon, however i didnt think that was long enough for my working dog, so i booked him in for "group play" sessions at an extra i think $9 for a 20 min session. if you have the money to spend they might be a good option, you can book in beach trips, they now have a pool for the dogs and other activities, ie bush walks so maybe will give your pup and adventure when you are away depending what you want. I am looking for a closer kennel and prob a cheaper one atm, am thinking Beenleigh Pet Motel as they also have luxury runs where the dogs have access to their own grass run all day but thats all i know about them.. good luck in finding a place, honestly it is the owner who suffers the most when putting a dog in a kennel, i feel bad every time, but i come home to a happy healthy dog, so you should really have nothing to worry about, but go with your gut, if you dont like the place/pple then do not leave your dog with them -

Walking My Dog But Surrounding Dog Not On Leash
dandybrush replied to giraffez's topic in General Dog Discussion
I had a dog charge us the other day, a husky type thing, had its hackles raised i yelled at it, but couldnt get it to stop its attempts, raz and it sniffed then the lady i was with said to keep walking so it followed for prob 2 meters sniffing raz's bum (raz was scared, tail tucked in) then it went away, i would hate to see what would have happened if it had been vicious so i feel for you, must have been scary cant help in the what to do department, i am just as clueless -

OMG they are so cute how can you not love that!!! -
the trouble is pple like it easy, they like to be able to window shop for puppies all in one place so they can see what they like or dont like. maybe we need to get some poundies into pet shop windows instead of puppy mill pups

i use time outs for my boy, if he jumped on the bench i would use his cue "too bad" and put him in his crate for a time out, soon as he does it again i would put him straight back in for a longer period thats just what i would do

i would suggest the long rope and go to the beach purely as a "training" exercise and practise you recalls, if at the end you are feeling confident let her go, do like the others have said and make yourself soo much fun she cant resist you. if you are still not confident do not let her off and go back another day for more "training" until you feel you can trust her, good luck hope something works for you

yes i love watching raz have zoomies...he doesnt do it much on his own these days unless we are chasing him to start him off. I did however catch him the other day doing zoomies with a stolen car cleaning mit and even managed to see him jumping up on our outdoor table and running around on it, he was having a blast
