  6. well you say underwood, but if its the underwood road dog park that is meant, its not at underwood, lol, if its the underwood road dog park its Underwood Park, on Underwood road at Priestdale. If you mean the actual suburb of underwood there is a dog park in underwood called Camelot park on camelot road
  7. lol ok November 7 - 3pm Underwood road dog park who is coming?? lets get some idea of how many are coming i'll be there with 1 dog
  8. ok so November 7th, 3 pm, now for where??
  9. wow, im amazed you get that bed in elbies crate poor elbie, he really wants his bed back they are very cute together
  10. i dont do obedience classes with my boy, however we do do agility. we did do puppy preschool, advanced preschool, off leash course and clicks and tricks. I think it is important for every new dog/puppy in the family to do some obedience or preschool for the socialisation and like wuffles said, boundaries/bonding time if you choose not to continue the training either agility or obedience or flyball or herding (whatever you are training in) then that is your choice but i think initially it should almost be a requirement of obtaining your new dog just my opinion
  11. buster - quin is gorgeous is she full border? love that face for sure, will post my baby when i get home, this thread is a great idea, though my baby is 2 now :D
  12. well i am free november 7, in the arvo, i havent been to any meets so not sure where the last one was, but im up for anything
  13. i like the sound of proban and advantix, will talk to the vet tomorrow, what is this permoxin? i think the prevention is cheaper than the cure, so would rather have the prevention right
  14. looks like elbie and hoover are having a ball together, have you had to enforce any rules like wuffles was talking about, ie. pushing in for pats etc. pity i live so far away
  15. i agree with you kuma, honestly, the more work you put into a working type breed the "easier" they are to live with :p however the smaller breeds and calmer breeds bread as companion types do not need as much work though are still the better for it if you put in the time IFKWIM
  16. patch doesnt sound like the right dog for them then :p raz can still be destructive, but he is a working dog, so i expect that, i also give him things that he is allowed to destroy like boxes and drink bottles. If they put in a bit of effort they would have a well behaved dog, but working dogs arent for everyone IMO as you have to be willing and able to give them what they need oh well to each their own
  17. Yes it did thank you. He's beautiful and so clever! I'd never heard of Coolies until recently and I think their colouring and intelligence is very appealing. I think Coolies and Kelpies are supposed to be quite similar. Definitely ... it makes life sooooo much easier. I am so relieved OH and I crate-trained Elbie. lol regarding the um business :p raz just ignores us, he sleeps in our room on the floor, so he just stays there and doesnt move, lol he did used to get a little um keen to er, play but he would get locked out so has given up that ghost i had grown up with dogs, and none of them had been crate trained, i thought it was a stupid idea, when i first got raz boy was i wrong yes coolies and kelpies are from the same beginnings, i believe. though i have been told that coolies are like kelpies only they have an off switch so all i have to say is nah nah gosh i love their colours and the variety they come in, they are such sweet dogs too, very soppy. I know a few breeders now so will definatly be looking for my next coolie from a breeder :D
  18. rofl max thats a good place to put his crate, good luck with your interview i have 2 crates now, for my untrained dog, and they are both in the same room one is out of sight beside the kitchen, that is where he has his dinner, thats a wire one, also the one i take to agility till i know he wont damage the soft one, right next to our speakers where we sit watching tv is his soft crate, which he will sometimes go lie in by choice when particularly cold or tired , he also gets his time outs in there, he has a regular bed like elbies in the bedroom and thats where he spends the night
  19. thanx frufru all good points, im going to also discuss with the vet, but am leaning towards maybe proban (or that spray instead) just during summer and advantix also
