i have been to the spit, i have heard mixed reports about aggressive dogs being there, though the one time we went we had a ball, i went out in the water and my baby came out too also nudgee more so for the dog, not really a swimming place for me, but we love it there :D on weekdays you can walk out to wellington point with your dog also, they are not allowed out there on weekends

ok here are some of my fav pics of my baby

that one looks good, my koolie (same size as a BC) is in a crate that is 81 cm long and only 57cm high, and he at the shoulders is about 54/55 cm tall, he cannot put his head up when in the crate, but he basically hopes in and sits down in it, plus if i open the top he has heaps of head room i do feel a bit bad, all the other BC's at my agility are in crates that look huge compared to his, maybe one day he will get a bigger one :D but he seems quite content in this one, he isnt really "crate trained" anyway so the only time we use it is for time outs, if we are visiting someone and want him out of the way, or at agility.

Rant: Tiny Little Puppy - Off Lead
dandybrush replied to MalteseLuna's topic in General Dog Discussion
i hear ya i was in nsw at the beach (where they film that surf lifesaving show) and there were heaps of pple and dogs, lots of dogs off leash, which as an adult dog if trained and thats what the owner wants to do, doesnt bother me, the off leash dogs were very well behaved. but i saw a couple with a staffy puppy off leash!! going to walk across the intersection and the pup thinks hey i know how to get over there and starts off across at a trot and the man grabs it pushes it back only comunicating with grunts and growls to this puppy how on earth is that pup supposed to know how to behave!! he should put it on a leash :D: another instance i have experienced was at 7pm at night at my local dog park, a friend and i were the only ones in the park, a man and a daughter show up with a white maltese, off leash, put it in the park then say to me that if they are not back when we go dont worry about the dog how can they leave their family member in the park at the mercy of strangers like that???? their excuse was that the dog would get run over if they put a stupid leash on the dog it wouldnt would it?? and the morals that man is teaching his daughter :D just not good -

I looked over at one point and saw you guys running - amazing improvement!! you are going to to have to get your skates on to keep up with him! haha i know!! you shoulda seen our last run, he did everything without being directly beside me and when i said too!! cept the weaves...we are both spastic when we get there I saw you working a little bit last night and you guys look like a great team thanx ;) -
honestly raz was an impulse buy, but in the first few days all i worried about was the sudden change in our lives, we had only been married 1 week and suddenly we have this huge responsibility. I thought i was never going to get alone time with my OH or any time with him but gosh raz is my first born and he will always be my baby I was worried and still am worried that he will get stolen, or run away (though i think stolen is more likely, he would have run away by now) i worry about him being home alone and lonely, i worry that he is going to get arhtritis...and i know there is nothing i can do right now about it, I worry about which dogs he should play with at the park, i dont want him ever hurt or picked on or abused :D i just love him to bits

:D hey AD and Huski i just wanted to say Raz was AWESOME!! at training last night, we really need to work on our weaves and contacts but i had a blast with him last night, and it was his first night in his soft crate (he isnt crate trained propperly) and he didnt destroy it -

-
i think its prob normal, my boy hardly plays with other dogs now so i do love to watch him when he does have a game mostly now he prefers to play with his toys and me i dont think there is anything wrong with that

also i can get there early and sus out any free fields we could maybe set up in instead of braving the actual dog park, that is if everyone is confident their dogs wont run away maybe we could wander through some forest too (although im happy to hang around the park if thats what everyone wants to do, im just throwing out ideas)
