Raw carrot? That's Emmy's latest craze at the moment. I get a carrot out of the fridge and she gets all so happy about it.

Emmy does the same... she has a favorite rug in the house that she does her business in. Drives me insane, I've washed the rug and vinegar sprayed the crap out of the rug. Now, when I'm not home, she doesn't have access to this rug and when I'm at home, I keep my eye on her like a hawk and whenever she heads towards that rug, I send her outside.

;) ;) ;) CW EW, Does Emmy still love Charlie now that he is naked ;) Yes, I think so. Although, I think she miss his tail being so fluffy though. nothing to chase and try to bite now Charlie loves being naked... he moves around a lot more and feels like he can fight fair with Emmy now!

Well, with Charlie's furcut... he doesn't shed as much. But, he was a big shedder. Emmy still has her puppy fur and I haven't noticed her shedding. I still can pick her up wearing black and my shirt still remain black.

What Dried Biscuit Are You Feeding Your Pooch?
W Sibs replied to Sunnyflower's topic in General Dog Discussion
Emmy is eating Advance Puppy Plus bikkies. Although, she is mostly on a raw diet. Charlie eats Emmy's biscuits, but he is mostly just eating raw food. -
I would say that I understand Charlie's facial expressions and his body language really well. He has different barks and whines that I can tell the difference on what he wants or needs. Emmy is the same. She is starting to get more confidence in herself and starting to tell/show us more about what she wants.

Just let your neighbours know that you got a new puppy and it's going to be a bit noisy at your place for a few weeks.. :p

Toys are so worth it. My dogs are crazy with soft plush toys that is squeaky... this can keep them entertained for hours. I have A LOT of toys for them, and they have fun going through their crates of toys and pull out toys out and play with them. But card box, toilet rolls, hankies and ribbons are some of their favorite things too. I keep things random with them...

Try and teach a dog maths and we'll see ;) Actually, Charlie knows how to count to 3. I'm slowly trying to teach him how to add.. --------------- Dogs are simple creatures. Humans are complex creatures. Human are mostly rules by emotions. Dogs aren't.

When Charlie got sick, he was put on a high Calcium diet.. and we were told NOT to use Calcium Powder Supplement. Especially for puppies... they don't help. We changed Charlie's diet to BARF (we sprinkle crush egg shells on top), he gets a chicken wing every day... With dry food... make games out of it. With Charlie, we played "Search"... hid food around the place, and make him search for it. We put dry food in socks and tie it and play fetch with it.. they get to chew on the sock, and then I open the sock and he would eat it when it's wet and mushy. With Hill Diets.. sometimes the dogs don't like the smell of it. Charlie would only eat that if we aired the dog food out for a day and we fed him and he will eat it all up.

It all depends how you look at it. I know a lot of humans are really really dumb. And, I have to say that my dogs are a lot smarter/intelligent then they are. I mean, I can tell my dog something once and they get it... whereas I try to teach people something else and it would take them about 100 times to get it. Then I have to ask myself.. who is smarter?

Evolving: OMG... I have the same pics as you... only a pup that's half that size and is all white!! Emmy discovered that the rain is fun and ran outside and won't come in!! She was jumping in leaves and trying to catch the rain in the air. It was hilarious!! Luckily she is tiny, and drying her isn't an issue (telling her to come inside when the rain gets harder is the issue!) Whereas my boy... well, when he is outside in the rain, he doesn't mind it. It's just when he comes inside and realise that he is wet.. that's when trouble starts. He throws a tantrum till we throw a towel on him and then he sits on the towel looking at me in with his big sad puppy dogs eyes that nearly breaks my heart. I have to dry him completely before he is all happy again.

Emmy does. Her howls are so cute, because it's not quite a howl just yet.. just a cute 'woo woo woo' kind of sound. She needs to work on it. Charlie is oblivious to it.

OMG!!! that's horrible.. I hope you dog gets better real soon!!! this is one of my worst nightmares! -
Yeah... I have to remind the boyfriend every day that Charlie's fur will grow! he is still kinda mad about it... Why do people clip their dogs fur in winter?! Craziness... it's freezing!! For poodlemum... Charlie's dirty looks when his photos are taken: (mobile pic... this photo actually makes him look evil!) he is a very sweet natured little fella... just i don't have many pictures of him proving that. All the "happy" shots of him is usually with him sleeping.. ;)

K9: If you mean the destroying your house, some thought provoking training can have some great effects, as can interactive toys etc. If you mean the fear period, it will pass pretty soon. K9: I would not be exposing your pup to anything new in this period. Too much to go wrong. Thanks K9Pro!! How long does it last for? Anything else should i look out for?
-
K9: Maybe that is another thing you need to look at... lol K9: No not really, but I wouldnt use it as a safe guard and feel safe that nothing can go wrong. Many dogs that come to see me for behaviour problems that have been life long problems were created in a fear period. So, any suggestion on how I can deal with this problem before it becomes a bigger issue? LOL My next idea is organise with my neighbour so Kodi can come over to the front yard, and she can see Charlie and Kodi playing with each other and she will realise that Kodi is friendly and it's ok not to be scared of her?

This was just a walk down the street (actually 2 houses down from my house). Should I walk her in a different direction? She has to be walked or else she will destroy my house! Yeah, I didn't coddle her or anything... just pulled her away and made her focus on me, while she calmed down. Then continued walking home (on the other side of the road)... or was that bad thing to do?

Anyone Up For Training Tonight?
W Sibs replied to Kavik's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I would jump a chance... but i have a non trained 13 weeks old puppy and a crippled 1 year old dog. I'm worried that they will slow you down. Also, my sister is visiting me this weekend -
Oh no. Charlie is very cool and easy... he lets me do anything to him and just takes it. He doesn't mind wearing his coats or jumpers, as long as he can go to the toilet and move around, then he doesn't care. Miss Emmy... she throws a tantrum when I put a coat on her. She literally throws herself on the floor and wriggling around like a fish out of water, and try to get the coat off her... at the same time, all vocal about it saying how much she hates it. It takes her 5 seconds to get out of any coat or jumper I put on her.

I have to admit that he seems happier clipped and he moves around a lot more... it's as though a lot of weight is off him. I'm getting use of his look... he looks so much like a puppy now. But, Emmy looks bigger than him right now too! I'm waiting for people to say that I'm starving him because he is soooo slim!! (but, I assure you that he is very healthy and is at ideal weight for him!)
