Congrates!! That's not being soft. Both my dogs sleep on the bed with me... one sleeps under the covers so he can have some of the electric blanket.

so cute! I love the cream colour one...

perfect if you haave a dog recovering from surgery/illness and they want to get out and about and not be confined 24/7. I'm sure Cahrlie would love it. well, this morning, we went for a walk and half way through the walk.. Charlie asked to be picked up and i was thinking, as i was carrying a 5.7kg dog up a hill, i wish the stroller will come soon!!

Hi, welcome! So sorry to hear you are feeling like that. Raising a puppy is A LOT of work, and with a toddler on top, no wonder you're feeling a little stressed out. What have you been feeding your puppy? What was the breeder feeding the puppy when you got him? If he is having an upset stomach.. maybe you can cook him some rice and boil chicken, that usually settles an upset stomach. I have a 4 month old puppy who took longer to toilet train then my first one. It's hard work watching the pup all the time (but, i don't mind... my little girl is sooo damn cute!) and working out when it needs to go to the toilet. She also woke up 2 times a night to go to the toilet, and only just recently where I can get a whole night sleep!! Are you crate training your puppy? Because, that helps with toilet training the puppy too. Do you have a partner? Does he help out with the pup like taking it for a walk?

I like it!! I bought one from COTD and used it on my two. It works! It makes Charlie's fur (well, his ears anyways.. his body doesn't need it) feel softer.
-
LOL what the hell is with that?! When would you use it? *looks at CW EW* I bought the nail trimmery thingo, hoping it does a better job than clippers on Luuka's nails. Charlie will have the last laugh.. when he is sitting in there like a Prince, that he is, getting pushed around and whereas the humans and his little sister will be walking everywhere!!

So they're aware that a puppy is not just a one off cost, either? All those vet bills, and all those bills coming their way to repair all the damage a puppy Lab can do, especially being an outdoor only dog That is great they are holding off for a while, though! Will give them a chance to think about things and hopefully when the baby(ies) arrive their hands will be too full to think of getting a dog! Nope.. they don't think about stuff like that UNTIL it happens. That's my thinking too!
-
Well... she is still unhappy. She really does wants a puppy. But, after talking to her husband... he is now iffy about getting a puppy especially after I inform him how much a puppy would cost them (after a very lovely breeder told me how much a choc lab will cost). They can't justify spending that much money on a puppy. So, right now, they are holding off in getting a puppy for at least a year or two (but, i'm hoping they have another kid, so they hold it off for another year or two...!) But they are eventually going to get a puppy.. hopefully when that times comes, they are ready for it.

I don't think anyone is attacking any parents who's doing the right thing... My parents taught me from a young age not to touch strange dogs, and even till today, as much as I think a puppy or dog is cute, I rarely touch strangers dog. Even if they give me permission too. But if the dog comes right up to me and shove their nose in my hand or stomach, it's hard not to pat them though This morning, i took Emmy for a walk and there were kids and parents walking to school... the kids asked their parents if they can pat Emmy, and their mums were like saying 'only if the puppy's mummy let you' and they politely asked me if they can pat her. I said fine, but gave them instructions on how to approach Emmy because she is a little shy, within 5 seconds, she was on her back for belly rubs You have those kinds of parents. Then you parents who just let their kids do whatever... then get pissy at me if I take Emmy away or simply say they aren't allow to touch Emmy.

Now that is a straight out LIE!!! Puppies have that gorgeous, GORGEOUS puppy breath Nothing beats a Lab puppy breath :D Go into my laundry which currently has mum and 6 babies, even with the change of bedding every day etc. it has that lived in smell. Of course its very cold here so you cant air the room properly. As for the idea of being a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs, that wont work because they wont allow the dog to live outside all the time. they want well socialised, walked, trained and exercised pups - and they are quite explicit about the regime. I likethe idea of the stuffed toy - until the children are a little older and then find a different breed. Can I suggest that if they visit Labsrule then take the time to ring me or MM or aussielover or even Blackdog we can then give them the prospective puppy buyer quiz - which of course will make them realise what breeders expect. Certainly worth a try. But if they do go ahead then make sure they tell the breeder to expect to be asked to rescue the pup at around 9 months. That is my next line of attack... i was going to ask some breeders if I could get her to contact some of you. Chat to her, because right now, she thinks all breeders are all unfair and she's not happy. Me telling her is one thing, but talking to a breeder herself could really make a difference.

It's freezing in Sydney.. but my girl loves it. She is going to die of happiness when I take her to the snows!! aww... you must post pic of your puppy!! good luck with your pup.. enjoy their puppyhood!! It goes by so fast
-
She was talking about this before she had a baby but when she realise that puppy must be inside the house.. she changed her mind. To her and her husband... dogs are strictly outside. No arguments. She is stubborn too so she won't bend on that. But, it's something I want to do... this can be my loophole of having 3 dogs (even for a little while), without the boyfriend getting all funny about it
-
Well, had a chat with her about it... she's not happy with what I had to tell her. Not sure what she is going to do, but I know for sure, that she won't go out to by a pup from BYB or pet shop. Her parents have always got their dog from registered breeders and also they are kind of the people who likes to brag about their things.. so no way they can say their dog is from a pet shop or byb. they will want papers.

If your dog is very furry then they get hot quicker.. so they will prefer cold surfaces. If they are cold, they will move to somewhere warmer. My Jap Spitz likes stretching out on the floorboards because she gets hot easily notice the crate, the shaggy rug, the pink rug.. also not in the pic she was a mink blanket by the window, a dog bed for her and the couch. She prefers the floorboards.

Can emmy and charlie reach the clothes on the line ? Don't leave your puppy unsupervised when clothes are out on the line. It is a bit unrealistic to expect her not to pull them off, I'm sure they look very fun and inviting... Em can. That girl can really jump... we think she is part cat!

We have one of those - Elbie wriggled right out of it even though it was put on very snugly... The smallest size is too small so we went for medium and made the straps snug - he still got out. Sigh ... wow.. you have a very talented little one there! :D
-
wow that's awesome... !!!

There are car harness that makes the dog have to lay down... you slide the seatbeat through the hoop and you click into the seatbelt. We use this for my brother's beagle.. who doesn't know the concept of being still. It doesn't allow him to move at all. it only let him sit right against the seat or he lay down. Maybe that would help? I have to ask the boyfriend where he got it from though.. because I send him out to buy a car harness and he came home with that one..
-
Emmy's cuddles can sometimes knocks the wind out of me... she full launches in my arms and her face knocks right in my face. the second week i got her, my friends were convince i got a cat instead of a puppy... i had scratches and marks all over my hands and wrist. Emmy knows 2 modes.. fast and faster.. so watching our steps around the house is a much.
-
Collar size: Tiny!! We used the smallest collar we could find! Emmy was just over 1kg when we first got her.
-
Yeah, that is why I need to get all the info and think of a way to start this conversation with her... they aren't cat people at all.
