  1. Depend on which room... Charlie: In the living room.. by the big window or wherever his day bed has shift too In the study... under my desk where he has a heating bed for him In the bedroom... on the bed (between 2 pillows) In my bathroom... under the sink where Emmy's bed is (they share that spot) Emmy: In the living room... the couch or by the big window (only if she gets to use Charlie has a pillow) In the study... anyway but the heating bed In the bedroom... at the end of the bed or my back (if i sleep on my stomach) In the bathroom.. under the sink where her bed id
  2. Emmy and I usually go for a relax walk after training. Then we go home and has a play session with Charlie, then jumps on the couch for a snooze.
  3. I would like to say Finnish Lapphund Samoyed Malamute BUT saying that.. a little Japanese Spitz is enough work for a long while
  4. The teacher sprayed her in puppy class? If an instructor did that to my pup.. there would be dramas
  5. I was thinking if Charlie was feeling left out too... FIL is being a real 'man' about it and doesn't want his dog to lose its balls. No taking the hint after his dog has already sired 3 litters MIL's Chi was booked into be speyed, they took one look at her age and said No freaking way. SIL wants to be a breeder SIL and FIL's dogs went on to have a litter earlier this year. One of the pups got ill and ended up here for good. Still intact. Moving out soon *fingers crossed* Wow! *fingers crossed* you move out soon too!!
  6. At my old place... Charlie was the smallest dog in the street.. and the new place, he is still the smallest in the street. my old street was a lot of crossbreed (DD dogs and proud of them ) Esky.. does your bf's family planning to desex their dogs? I've never owned a dog that hasn't been speyed.. even Emmy is getting speyed soon. gila.. weird, huh? lol
  7. I think people give their dog a little bit of Yoghurt? or is that when they have the runs? I know this sounds weird, but I give Charlie warm water and we go for a walk.. that always do the trick with him
  8. I live on a street that only has Pure bred dogs!! I'm the only person on my street that has a cross breed (Charlie). There are Kelpies, a Malamutes, 2 Huskies, a Cocker Spaniel, a Pug, a Shih Tzu, a Mini Foxy and now a Japanese Spitz. All purebred and bought from registered breeders!! I know it's silly, but I thought I should share this interesting (and weird) fact
  9. 1 crate full (Charlie has a camping crate... it's now a toy box) 2 boxes full (one in the living room and one in the study) small bin full for outdoor toys My 2 are really spoilt by my family and friends. They even get their own visitors... my friends will come over just for Charlie's or Emmy's cuddles. They see something cute online and get it for my two. My parents comes to visit them every Monday, and usually bring some toys for the 2.
  10. I don't do it... but I know a few people who does it to their pup I don't do it because Charlie was never a problem, and Emmy will think it's the best game ever. She loves it when water sprays on her face. She's weird. This is what Emmy does it when i say 'Quit it'... she will lay down, give me the most saddest look you can imagine, and then take herself to the couch for a nap... it reminds me of a toddler who's overtired and acting up, and they just need to be told go have a nap.
  11. woohoo.. you're back!! i know you have posted here and there.. but still... it's always a good thing when you post The boyfriend and I were talking about you yesterday, and we both agree that you're amazing!!
  12. Socialisation is a constant thing the dogs needs to do for the rest of their life... that's my personal opinion anyway. My puppy school teacher says it's crucial to socialise a pup between birth and 16 weeks. I think there is a link of puppy timeline on top of the Puppy Problem thread. It's a very good read As soon as I got my pups, I took them everywhere with me. They played with friends and family dogs (doesn't matter the age), cats and other pets.
  13. CWEW was gonna come with her JS You'll know all the lappie people from the spitz breeds thread. I have to drive out on my own as well, as OH is working. It's at Olympic Park, though, which is easy to get to as it's right off Metroad 3. Kivi is pretty good with puppies. If they are worried he lies down and ignores them. They come over soon enough and he lets them do anything to him. He's a big teddy bear. I don't really remember our first trip to the beach with our boys. We probably kept them on a long line. Ours had been out and about quite a bit before we made a beach trip, though. So they seemed not too insane and kept close. It was handy having a good recall on Kivi. Erik wouldn't have gone anywhere without Kivi when he was a baby. He was like Kivi's satellite. :D I'm sure they both dug in the sand and wouldn't go anywhere near the water. They love the beach. I'll be there with Emmy. Maybe Charlie but not 100% sure with him yet..
  14. 1. Socialisation Charlie was awesome at it. He generally just loves people and animals. Nothing phase him. Emmy is still wary of new people and animals.. but once she knows someone and other animals, she loves them. Noise wise.. she is still a bit skittish but she doesn't run away anymore.. she just steps back and waits to see if she would get hurt or something. 2. Recall Charlie.. he is never far from me. So recall was never an issue with him. Emmy is still a working process. There are days where she is awesome and other days where she goes deaf. I would say her recall is at 80% right now.
  15. I love how Rotti talks.. Emmy is a Japanese Spitz.. i'm expecting her woo-woo.. but she grr-grr instead ;) She does talk a lot too. She has the need to put her 2cents into everything
  16. What a handsome and stylish fella!!
  17. Emmy does this too... she only does this when she is in the backyard and can hear the neighbours in their garages. She usually gets a 'hello Emmy' back
  18. Haha.. MM you are so cute! Charlie is the whinger and Emmy is the growler!
  19. I'm discovering that Miss Emmy is a growler (nothing aggressively or anything).. She growls when she makes her dig her nest to go to sleep, she growls when she psych herself up to do something she hasn't done before, she growls when she plays, she sometimes growls in the middle of her eating (letting us know she likes her meal), then growls when she is full, she growls when she does zoomies too. First off, is this normal? Secondly, it's so damn cute when she does it!
  20. The more you learn the more you will know. Like others have said, every dog is different. There is no perfect owners out there, but if you do the best you can do with the knowledge you have... then you can't fail on being a good dog owner. It's always great to always wanting to learn more
  21. shes way too cute for her own good...!! glad to here that Jedi and Soaks are loving her and her loving them!!
  22. Dogs loves the beach. I took Charlie to the beach several times... he doesn't go in the water but has a great time barking at the water when they try to touch his paw, but he had fun digging in the sand. I can't wait to take Emmy to the beach this summer too!!
