  1. that'st much more awesome then the box I put at the end of my bed for Emmy!
  2. Just want to pop in to say HI!!! Still thinking about you and sending you healing vibes
  3. Oh dear! how awful for her ;) :p
  4. ;) I guess, just take Kaisie on a lot of walks and find ways to tire Kaisie out, so she doesn't have the energy to whinge.
  5. Buy earplugs and good luck ;) Emmy is suppose to be crated because she got desexed and BOTH Charlie and Emmy let me know that they weren't happy with the arrangement... Charlie is one of the best whingers in the world. he put his whole body and soul into whinging and crying.
  6. Trust me, sometimes that deposit turns out to be a very cheap lesson learned. There is no way in hell I'd take on a pup rather than forfeit a deposit and frankly I"m not sure the breeder has the legal right to keep it. I was going to say that. You lose a few hundred on deposit... it will save you thousands on medical bills in the future. You and your husband aren't going to enjoy owning that puppy if it, at the end, have health issues.
  7. Hello, welcome! If you are in doubt about this breeder, walk away. Go to another breeder. Too much health issue with this litter and it sounds like it's going to have future health problems too. Looking after a sick puppy is not only financially draining but also emotionally draining also, I agree with Schmoo's boss... with all these problems, I wouldn't get one of the pups.
  8. It's the first I've heard of this.. I have a Cav x ... never used a anything but flat collar on him and he is fine.
  9. Flat collar and leash for both of mine I'm totally against retractable leash they are an accident waiting to happen... or maybe because I've only seen stupid people using them on their dogs.
  10. Nah.. the owner doesn't understand dogs playing behaviour. You did the right thing of leaving them... it's the lady's fault for not taking her pup away! In puppy school, a lady was scared of letting her puppy play with Emmy because Emmy is very passionate (growling, barking and launching herself on other puppies) about playing with other dogs sometimes. So, we don't let the pups play together.
  11. I have no idea why but my 2 loves licking faces. They like licking each others faces too.
  12. Unfortunately my 2 has no interest in Kong. Every time I give them a nice kong with all yummy treats in them, they give it back to me and wait till i get the food out for them...
  13. That's awesome Marley's made a friend. You should organise a playdate with the 2 pups in a yard where they can be off leash and play together Emmy growls, barks, bounces, prance and run around like a fool when she is really happy playing with other dog. I don't stop her from making the noise (I find it cute when she is playing with other dogs) so I don't know how to stop that. Dogs like playing bitey faces.. my 2 can play that for hours. If one of them is biting hard, the other one will let everyone know he/she doesn't like it.
  14. I sleep with my bedroom door close and both dogs sleeps in the room with me. Bedtime is about 10.30pm and lights out about 11.30pm. Emmy wakes up at 5am (I just get out of bed to open the bedroom door and go back to sleep.. she takes herself outside now), I wake up about 5.30am and Charlie doesn't wake up till about 8am (but doesn't get out of bed till about 8.20am). On weekends, I don't hear a peep out from the dogs till I wake up.
  15. Never was going to give up on researching this, but needed a break from it. Hope so too!! I will! Hopefully i get a reply!
  16. Ok... email sent. Hope to hear something back from them soon.
  17. Did they snuggle from the time that you got Emmy, or did it take a while? Yeah, Charlie never stood a chance First day home, Emmy climbed into his bed with him and fell asleep after about an hour of play together. At first, Charlie wasn't sure about it, but then gave up and let it be and joined in the sleep
  18. yeah, i'm very excited about this... although, not sure how much help it would be, it would be nice to talk to a vet or someone who has little information about it.
  19. Not as bad. Although his involve his lower spine, pelvis and right femur. He is kinda an unique case because everyone is shock that he is walking and running around and not constantly in pain. There was a period where his bones was vanishing real quickly, but now, it's been stable.
  20. After taking a few months of taking a break from researching about Bone Vanishing Disease and trying ways to help Charlie, I've decided to go back into researching it, and I came across this article!! I am in full research mode on Bone Vanishing Disease at the moment. Charlie has this, and I was told the first dog to every diagnose with this condition, but I came across this article! another case I'm going to email the vet who wrote the article and talk to him about it!! Charlie may not be the first dog to ever have Bone Vanishing Disease...!
  21. Mine has egg milkshake once a week... we crush the shell and put it in their milkshake.
  22. My 2 are so different from each other but always keeps me on my toes!! I keep learning new things about raising a puppy or dog every single day. It's really important to me that my dogs learn the house rules, and both did pretty much straight away. Teaching them that, it let me know how different they are and what I need to do to get them to learn. I find different methods to help them become happy, secure and confident puppies. And, become great dogs. I can't use the same method that works on Charlie with Emmy. Charlie has amazing focus and Emmy doesn't have much of an attention span and everything about her is fun and games, or else she gets bored. What I did learn from Charlie and made sure I didn't pass to Emmy was his picky eating. He is better now since we got Emmy, because Emmy is a pig.. so he knows if he doesn't finish his food, Emmy will eat it... and I won't refill his bowl if it's empty.
  23. I love the little booster seat you have for Emmy!!! It is soooooo cute! I should get one for G. Where did you buy it? I find the radio helps to keep G quiet. She unzipped herself out of her crate when I had that in the car. So I tied her lead to the head rests and she laid down on the passenger seat... Usually though I put her in the rear end of the car. I find her too distracting otherwise. I have a 4WD and the rear section is just a bit bigger than her crate. I put her in there with a blanket and a toy, she is fine. car booster (click on dog travel section area) I got the booster chair from these guys although right now, I think they are out of stock because it's not on the website. They do have real fancy booster chairs though (if you are willing to fork out extra $$) I saw some booster seats for dogs in Big W the other week though, it's not the same as the one I have for my 2.. but it's very similar Awesome!!! Thanks so much for that! I really think they are a good idea... Do you know (or anyone else who uses them) how well they would fit with a baby capsule/car seat in the car too? It's depends on what car you have and how big your booster seat is going to be
