During. Each time I put the drops in, i give it a quick clean. Just get cotton ball and gently and quickly clean around the area, don't go in too deep and then put ear drops in. If I don't clean it, Charlie's ear will get really gunky and oily.. then he will get frustrated, scratching his ear all the time.

;) congrates on your 700 post!! the boyfriend knew from the beginning that Charlie is a mama's boy.

Does Anyones Elses Puppy Rise When The Sun Does?
W Sibs replied to aussielover's topic in Puppy Chat
oh dear Emmy is up with the sun... but she knows not to wake me or Charlie up. She will do her own thing till we wake up (but i'm usually up not long after her). If the boyfriend is there.. she goes wakes him up. On weekends, she sleeps in with everyone. Not sure how we trained her to do that it just happened. -
had an awesome morning with him. nothing out of the ordinary... just walked, he had his usual goofy grin that can always makes me laugh. all i needed to say was 'come on dude' and he simply turns around and continue walking... doesn't matter if he is getting pats, or saying hello to another dog... i can just say 'come on' and he will just follow me. i love that.

I love that Charlie is a sooky boy and is a total mama's boy. I love that he prefers me over anyone else. That is all.

For Those That Don't Look In Off Topic

no words. -
I've been there and was far from impressed with the evening crowd who don't mind dogs rolling other dogs and being growled at by the regular grumpy dog. Took my old Dane there and was set upon 3 times within 15 minutes...never went back again. Not a fan of this park either. Owners were idiots.
-
I tried the free range thing with my 2... they always end up back in the bedroom
-
list of dog parks I go to the one at Huntley Cove (Tarban Creek or Riverglades Reserve... doesn't matter, it all links up  ). Should be about 10-15 minutes drive from Rhodes
-
My two started on the bed but now Charlie sleeps on his bed beside my bed. More room for him to stretch out (for a little guy, he does take up a lot of room!). Emmy still sleeps on the bed with me.. she sometimes starts off sleeping on the floor by the door, but by the time the light is switched off, she is cuddling up to me. I wouldn't want it any other way

Woohoo.. congrates Mr R & Mrs E Chapman

Yep, no tail chasing in my house either and Emmy isn't allowed to spin more then twice if she gets excited. I just say 'Oi' and then give Emmy something more fun to do and distract her from it. Charlie doesn't chase his tails but Emmy use to chase his tail for him! She doesn't do it anymore, once her puppy license has expired, Charlie will let her know that he doesn't it and she learnt the lesson fast!

He is very handsome
-
Charlie is one smart puppy... Step 1: Get Emmy to take towel Step 2: Eat food They work well together
-
I only tried the towel thing with Emmy.... she is more interested in the towel then food. Charlie just waits till Emmy runs off with the towel and he goes eats the food.

Why Do People Want To Breed Their Pet Dog?
W Sibs replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
There is this excuse: Because [insert pet name here] is awesome and I would like to have a son/daughter from [insert pet name here] -
Tell your husband to ignore Jester and not try so hard... that would intimidate Jester more, I reckon. Get him to walk around the house normally, not acknowledging the dog. Once in a while, get him to drop food for Jester.. so Jester realise this guy has food, and i might get some. Not sure if this is the right way of doing it, but I've tried this with a few strays/rescues my dad use to bring home growing up... I would ignore them but, once in a while I will 'accidently' drop food, and these dogs will want it (we are talking about dropping half cheeseburgar or hot dog.. ). They will start following me around just in case I drop food (or treats)... eventually they felt comfortable around me and let me pat them. ETA: Or see a trainer/behaviourist
-
I would have suggested that the litter is aborted immediately and the bitch desexed. + 1
-
Is it a standard? Or is that a state/territory thing? Neither Charlie or Emmy got tattooed on their ear when they got desexed (I think the boyfriend will be annoyed if they got tattoo without his permission).
-
Have taken Charlie to obedience in the rain. The trainer was kinda disappointed that I turned up because she thought she got to go home (I was the only person in the class that turned up.. wearing rain coat, a matching hat and gum boots.. Charlie was wearing his raincoat)... but she had still teach the "class" but I turned up

Yep, we have few of Nina Ottoson puzzle range toys. They are very very fun!!! Charlie loves it. It doesn't take him long to work out the puzzles. Takes Emmy a lot longer but that's because she gets too excited to realise to use her nose, once she figured out how to play, she gets into it (she usually starts off with standing on the toy and start digging for the treat ;) ) Depending on the toy Bub... I think it's big enough for GR to use their nose to push and slide things away.
-
Same. I have done the cup thing with Charlie and Emmy. Charlie just taps the cup with his nose when he finds the treat, sits down and looks up at me and barks at me to let me know he founds the treat. When I say ok, he knocks over the cup and gets his food. If I don't say Ok.. he will lay there watching the cup intensely. Emmy had more style... she knocks/bulldoze every single cup over till she finds her treat and then eats it.
