Hi! Where did you get this pup from? Most dogs don't like sitting, sleeping or eating near where they've done their no 1 and no 2s. Especially if they are outside and have lots of other places to go. All I can suggest is back to basics with toilet training with him again. Even though it's outside. Are you crate training him?

If you half fill a water bowl, freeze it overnight and then top it up, it will stay cooler longer. I do that for dog shows. This is what I do too

It wasn´t their rat!!! Their rat was white!! We had a good night celebrating
-
that's terrible

Nah... I'm going to get them drunk instead ;) *hic* rat...wha' rat? *hic*
-
:D Nah... I'm going to get them drunk instead :D
-
Oh no! Were your neighbours mad?
-
Charlie was very quick about. 2 shakes and it was dead... that's it. He wouldn't of ate it, if the creature stops moving, he will lose interest in it. Hoping it's not their rat either :D
-
That's horrible!!! Their cat went into your house!! :D

After thinking about this, I think I will go over tonight and just tell them what happened. I have a good relationship with my neighbours especially the ones on either side of me (and they are one living next door to me). I might give them a bottle of wine too... just in case it is and they want to drown their sorrows. If it's not their rat, then we can celebrate that Charlie didn't kill their pet.
-
No. I don't think these are the people who will do anything to hurt my 2. They will be understanding (if it's their pet) but it will be sad.
-
Yeah. Charlie has a high prey drive, so I'm not shocked that he will try to kill it (not the first animal he has killed)... but i'm hoping it's not their pet rat
-
Yeah, we have wrapped it in a plastic bad and put it in a box, it's currently locked up in the garage where it's cool. If it's their pet, they can bury it and if it's a wild one, we will throw it away. I'm sure they won't be mad at us but it's still going to be sad if it is their pet rat though.

First of all, what did it look like? Most pet rats I have met are not the common wild type brown (but some are). If it was a fancy colour, it was probably an escaped pet. It's a dark greyish colour. this is what the boyfriend said... i don't lie very well. i might get the boyfriend to go over and talk to them.

Early in the morning, Charlie and I were outside in the backyard searching for lizards when Charlie all of a sudden took off to the corner of the yard (I haven't seen him move this fast since he was a puppy doing zoomies!!) and before I could see what he was looking at, he had a rat in his mouth and with 2 shake of his head, the rat was dead. Before he could do anything else to it, I got him to drop it and I sent him inside the house. I have a feeling it's the neighbour's pet. They mention that their pet rat escaped a day ago and ask if we could keep a look out for it and since the neighbourhood doesn't have a rat problem... so how do I tell them that my dog kill their pet?

I love them 90%

Ohh... I've heard of this place and want to take my 2 there.

Sounds like you need to invest in a decent dryer CW! Yeah. I've been looking for one. Not sure which one to get though. Unless you need to be hands free for brushing coat, a small force dryer would probably be the go. I'm googling now... :D thanks!!!

OMG... I love Emmy's fur. Seriously, no maintence on it at all. She rolls in the mud, I make her shake, dry her off and she is white again... fricken awesome. Charlie's coat on the other hand... everything sticks to him and once it sticks on, it's hard to get off. I have to shave his chest, legs and butt once every fortnight or else he looks like a stray scruffy dog. I trim his tail once a week (who says the tail is the longest to grow back.. I laugh at you!!)... I try to avoid giving him a bath the most because it takes him FOREVER to dry. He is a Cav x Shih Tzu.

this made me laugh Me too - LOL. I go to a veterinary hospital where the vets really make you feel that the most important thing they have done that day is to see you and whichever pet you happen to have at that particular visit. OMG!! Well said and very insightful Saxonpup. I've met CW_EW and you have absolutely hit the nail on the head. Aww.... guys. Really don't know what to say with those very lovely comments but thank you

They playing around is exercise for him She makes him move so it builds up his back muscles to be stronger. Also, I believe that her happy energy rubs off on him too. Just like his calm energy rubs off on her
