Charlie has a really good memory. I once put his favourite toy away for some reason. I totally forgot about the toy. A few days later, he was sitting at the cupboard barking at it. When I opened it the cupboard, he was getting more excited and started to his do his excited bouncing and when I got his toy... Emmy is forgetful. She tends to forget where she hides things. If it's really important to her, she goes check the object every 30 seconds just in case she forgot where she hid it. She will hides her pig ear in clear view that everyone can see it, and still forget where she hid it... then gets upset, then I'll be like 'Get your ear' and then she will find it because I point it out to here where it is. When she was a pup, I had to constantly remind her to finish her dinner because she gets distracted to easily and forgets. She is a funny little thing.

... gotta love the Evil Beagle This is a game that my 2 often play with each other to steal each others things off each other. They've never tried in on the humans... yet.

I don't agree with that list. They don't have Jap Spitz on the list... Emmy is really smart. Only have to teach her something once and she gets it. But, she's not easy to train due to no attention span... but once I've figure out how to get her attention, she is really amazing to work with. She works her fluffy bum off for you.. even if it's for 3 minutes

Congratulations!! He is totally gorgeous!!

- Trim the hair inside the ear... the little hair is probably annoying them and making it worst. - Brush the ear with a comb everyday for 15 minutes (each ear).. just around the ear area. - I clean the area with the ear solution that the vet gave me. The flake this is probably ear wax?

Do you mean Shih Tzu? Definitely agree with any dog you get, you must socialise the dog. Any dog you get, no matter how awesome the breed is, will have issues if you don't.

Why Do Dogs Go Crazy After Having A Bath?
W Sibs replied to jacqui835's topic in General Dog Discussion
Emmy does this too!! Completely goes insane.. I think Emmy does it because she's not use of standing still for more than 2 minutes and she is enjoying and celebrating her freedom Charlie usually goes to his bed after a bath. -
How Far Do You Walk And How Long Does It Take?
W Sibs replied to OSoSwift's topic in General Dog Discussion
With Charlie... he isn't very fast at all. he maybe goes about about 1km/h and that's him fast pace. If we walk more than 10 minutes, he will stop and we have to carry him home... lucky he is a small dog. Usually with him is take a step and wait for him, take another step and wait for him. With Emmy we walk my pace. I walk in a faster pace than normal. Just because I naturally walk fast (I'm short and I have tall friends and they have long strides and I have to walk quicker to keep up with them). Never know how far we walk but we usually walk for 1/2 hour to an hour. Longer on weekends. -
How i see it, it's the same as putting a puppy in a pen or crate. You ignore them when they are playing up or whinging, and praise them when they are quiet and calm. Another person do use NILIF.

If it was me, I would let them sort it out themselves. If the 5 m.o is getting annoyed and he doesn't stop, then step in and separate them. She needs to learn to tell him to stop herself too. Maybe you can spend more time with the 12 weeks old too... like more training sessions, more play sessions with you. This way, he is distracted hanging out with you and she is having a break from the puppy.

I wouldn't worry too much till you get there because who knows? Honey might charm the pant of your BIL and will let her sleep inside

Yeah but I think cause it's too hard for them. Emmy is all about soft and furry... When I do training with Emmy and we do tug rewards, and Emmy is nuts about tugging. But won't tug on anything that's hard. I have a leather tug toy for her and she won't tug on it. She will mouth it and hold it, but as soon as we begin to tug, she will let go and find something else to tug on.

I would have to say that Charlie and Emmy are welcome at my friends places even though they aren't dog people. Some have their rules like, they aren't allow inside or so forth, but I'm cool with that. With extended family, they are part of the family too... so they are expected to be at parties and gathering (unless it's formal functions and stuff). I don't mind if my dog friend people bring over their dogs over to my place either... worries is that my current house is a lot smaller than my old house, so I can't have too many dogs over. Also I have to be mindful of my housemate now too (although she loves dog and doesn't mind).

Emmy has no interest in Kong. Doesn't like chewing on anything hard either. This is what I did: I get a used (but clean) sock, put some kibbles in there and tie the sock up and give it to her. She likes biting on the sock and eventually the sock gets soaks and I untie the sock for her so she can eat the very soggy kibbles. Or Get (or make) a small box and put some kibbles in there... punch holes into it so she can smell it and give it to her. She loves boxes and loves tearing them apart... so this way she has to destroy the box to get the kibbles. Or Frozen chicken neck or freeze some mince in an ice block and give it to her. It's messy but it keeps her busy for a few hours. Or Get a face wash, soak it in some meat juice, freeze it and then give it to her. This also helps when they are teething.

Dogs Really Do Know When Your Down..
W Sibs replied to kitkatswing's topic in General Dog Discussion
for you, your husband and maui I have to say that my little Emmy is really good at picking up moods and feeling. When Charlie is having a bad day, she is incredibly gentle with him. With me she just comes and sits on my lap and let me cuddle her. When I feel a bit better, she gets down and do something completely nutty to make me laugh... -
Same here. I just wouldnt trust a dog on one. May I ask why specifically you both don't like extenda leads? Would you have the same opinion if it was a long or tracking lead that the dog was walked on? Not in suburban areas or city. It's just too dangerous. I have long leashes for my dog for training purposes but to use that we go to a big oval or park where it's open and clear and we aren't near cars, roads or anything like that. Basically there won't be a chance where it will get tangled or get caught on anything.
-
I loathe extendable leads... I really think they are an accident waiting to happen.

Tri for me too although charlie is a x... i love his markings.

When is it on?
