  1. I got to play with a Frenchie for the first time the other day... OMG, he was such a clown The owner had an awesome sense of humour too!!
  2. Willow is adorable at the photo. She does not look impress..
  3. You can buy clickers in supermarkets now and pet shops too. I like clicker training. I mostly use it when I do trick training with my JS.
  4. Invest in a clipper and shaver... Charlie is a Cav x Shih Tzu and I spend every second day thoroughly combing him. Especially the ears area because they get knotted/matted easily. He gets his legs, butt and chest clipped every second week to control his fur (the rest of his body is fine). I don't give him a bath unless he starts to smell or feels too oily but I do use Aloveen conditioner on him every second week while grooming him though.
  5. Have you tried deer antler? You can try brushing Angel's teeth.
  6. weirdest hotels i think it's funny
  7. that's cool!! Charlie: 13 Feb Emmy: 24 Feb Mine: 7th March Mr CW EW: 18 March Every 1 - 2 weeks there is cake :D
  8. They do blow coat once or twice a year that in that period, it's best not to wear black! During their dropping coat stage, I do brush my JS everyday. But normally, I will brush her maybe once or twice a week (she isn't as fluffy as other JS though). I have to say that my Cavvie x sheds more than her. I use to own GSD and my old GSD shed more than my JS did. My GSD use to shed more than my 2 old huskies too!! --------- There are a few AED around Sydney. They aren't common and often get mixed up for Samoyed x JS though, but the boyfriend met one and he said that it's not as good looking as Em (the coat isn't as white as a JS) and it was a nasty thing (he also said it was a lot bigger than Em).
  9. that's beautiful love it when dogs love each other and get along with each other I love the Charlie and Emmy have an amazing bond between them. The typical big brother and little sister relationship.. Emmy adores Charlie. She knows when Charlie is having a bad day and is sooo gentle with him, and she is protective of him too. Charlie lets Emmy do anything to him (he really doesn't have a choice in that though)... he absolutely adores her.
  10. bottomline if you don't want the dog.. then don't get it. it's up to the breeder how much she/he will give the deposit back.
  11. That was the other suggestion someone told me... I was going to try that next but the bowl on a box worked well that I didn't have to try the muffin baking tin.
  12. I was once told that if you put the dog bowl higher (not on the ground but on a box) it will slow the dog down a bit. I've tried it on one of the dogs I looked after and it worked.
  13. This. I agree with the others $1500 is a lot for a deposit.
  14. RIP Oscar Thoughts are with you SF and your family
  15. I really really love smart dogs!! I have a grump and an airhead (I'm convince Em only has 2 brain cells).
  16. Thing is a pup don't fully have control of their bladder till they are 6 months old (although some do pick it up faster than others). Toilet training is about consistency. So remember to praise her like crazy in the place where you want her to go. Likes other suggested about crating her and watching her like a hawk.
  17. When I lay on the floor, Charlie thinks it's a great time to come over and lick me. Then bark at me to get up or telling me give him a cuddle. Emmy jumps on me and put her paws on my shoulder and looks down at me to check if I'm OK. Then licks me a few time, and then just lay down on my chest and wait for me to tell her to get off. I think they sense if you're playing or not. When I rolled my ankle and was sitting there in pain, Charlie would sit beside me and whinge, and Emmy will get a little frantic jumping on me for comfort because she doesn't know what's going on.
  18. Funny.. growing up one of my chore was walking the dogs. Often I always had a dog or 2 following me around while I went skateboarding or something. Never had an issue.
  19. What a sucky situation. Personally, I wouldn't rehome Missy. Not fair for another person/family to deal with her issues. Either get her help or PTS.
  20. I cant see what's wrong with what your vet said. Most vets will give that same advice. But if you are unhappy with your vet, then you should change vet. I've been taking both my pups out as soon as I got them, but I carry them everywhere. They get short walks up and down my street too just for exercise (as well as a lot of running around in the backyard) and they are socialise through other friend dogs who I know are healthy. Also puppy school etc. I do not take them to public dog parks, beaches etc though till they had their 3 vacs though. As for food, my dogs are on raw diet from the time they get home. When they do get kibbles.. there is usually mince mixed in it or else they won't eat their kibbles. My dogs frequently have bones and neither one of them ever had issues with it either
