There is cake. Ice cream. Outings (we usually go to their favourite place). Not so much toys because my 2 have a lot of toys. I make a big deal out of Charlie's birthdays (he is only 2 ). They said he wouldn't make it to his second birthday, but now it looks like he will be around for a long while

My neighbour has a female Shih Tzu that's entire and currently in heat. I'm looking after my aunt's dog, who's also entire. He really really wants to get over to her and it's driving me insane!! The barking, whinging, drooling (??) and howling. Lucky we have a 7 foot colorbond fence, the neighbour and I made sure that the dog can't dig his way under the fence, I removed anything near the fence in case the dog has a desire to jump over the fence. I have him penned inside the house when I can't supervise him. Neighbour keeps his little girl in the house when he knows I'm at work. Is it Saturday yet? *sigh* ETA: this post is done due lack of sleep

Bummer. Yeah, I agree with Perse. Oh, Em has patella issues too... you wouldn't guess if you saw her. ETA: I got quoted $1500 for surgery (that's not including meds and stuff) if Em was ever to get surgery. But, thankfully, she doesn't need it. But, she's also a Japanese Spitz, so I'm not sure if that's the same price for a Lab.

that's terrible to your niece RIP little pup

What the others have said. 2 hard crates. If they aren't crate train, I wouldn't get a soft crate.
-
Thing is that they need to find time or make time to sort this problem out. Are they willing to do that though?

how funny.. i recently bought a red leather collar for Charlie at www.vebopet.com.au it was cheap and couldn't help myself. he will probably never ever wear it either

Yay for responsible owners

We travel to Melbourne every year for Christmas. Both dogs are in their own crates by the window. Mostly they just sleep and when they are awake, we put the window down for them a bit so they can get wind in their face. We stop every 2-3 hours so the dogs can have a break and we can stretch our legs. I can't help with the pet friendly accommodation either (cause I have no idea where you are heading!) I've never board/kenneled my dogs either. They usually go on trips with us or I have someone over to dog sit them

What dyzney said. You don't need to reason. It's what you want, the vets has to respect that decision. It's ok if they voice their opinion and reasons, but it's should be ok for you to disagree with it too. There are things I disagree with my vets on, they aren't happy about it, but they always respect it.

Oh my gosh.. Angie!! she sure looks comfortable on the table though!!

OMG This is so like Mr Bubbitty who had the gall to say to me one day "You know, if I change all the words "baby" into "Bitty" and "dancing" into "bouncing", all songs can be made to be relevant to the Bitty"

Don't have pet insurance but the dogs have their own bank account Pet insurance won't cover Charlie anyway.

kekekek don't get me started on the Vietnamese tragic love songs I sing to Bubby as a demonstration of my love! Last time I did it, Bitty ran into the study and hid with her Da Da. Bubby, bless him, my faithful devoted boy, sat by my feet with the most tortured expression that said "I am your loyal Bubby Dawg so I will sit through this until the very bitter end!" RubyStar: Just becareful that any new man you meet won't steal your girls from you! Bitty was supposed to be MINE as well!!! I take her in, feed her, clothe her! All that devotion and she runs off with my husband! Wench! Nawww.. Bubby Richie makes up songs for Emmy. She hangs on to every (bad) notes he sings looking at him with love and happiness... while Charlie and I run and hide Sometimes Em joins in with the singing too.

I think most of those you still have to put your dog in a harness and has a place for you to clip your in... i'm not entirely sure. Charlie's booster chair has a clip where I attach his harness too.

It's not too cold for them to swim. My girl swims whenever she gets the chance too, and also runs around in the rain too.

Ohh... look what the evil website is selling link

Nawwwww that is toooo cute! Bitty is hubby's "Baby Girl". He will say "Baby Girl" and she will launch herself at him. He also refers to himself as her "Da Da". It is so cute to listen to him wash her paws when she gets muddy. I hear snippets like "Now give Da Da your right paw. Don't sulk Baby Girl. All this mud on your face! Da Da dun love muddy pups." Usually followed by "All done now. Give Da Da a kiss." Awww.. that's so sweet too Mr CW used the vietnamese endearment 'Em Oi' only on Em.

Happy birthday!

naww.. that's adorable

No, it's not important. Just because I'll be taking my dogs mostly everywhere with me if they do go on holidays with me. Those times that I leave them at the hotel/house.. it would be at night when I got out to dinner, and there they just stay in their crates and be so tired, all they will be doing is sleeping. Saying that, I do have 2 small dogs and they are easy to travel with.

That's really cute Emmy is definitely Daddy's Lil Girl. In Mr CW EW's eyes.. she can do no wrong. Chew his new sneakers he ordered from US.. it's alright. His excuses, "It's alright. It's my Em'. He is real funny with people touching his pillow, but his Em is allow to share his pillow with him (he gets a little sad if she doesn't share his pillow him). ETA: Em really really love her daddy. He can't sit down without her on his lap or her giving him kisses... he loves it. He loves it when he walks in the room and Em is playing with me, but stops and runs to him
