THIS! x 2! X3!!!!! Absolutely what Huski said. X4 Exactly. Learning how to learn is so important and so is fostering drive. It took months to teach Z that because he'd never learned it as a puppy (I got him at 2.5 years old). I'd be focusing on this before I did anything that even resembled agility or flyball. As someone once told me, there's no point in putting up the scaffolding of a house if it's foundations can't hold it there - it might look more like a house with the scaffolding up but it'll implode without the foundations. luvlottie x5 me x6

When Did You Get A New Furry Family Member?
W Sibs replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
When I left my dogs with my ex, it took me about 18 months before I got Charlie. But, that was more because I didn't have time, energy or room for another dog. I felt kinda lost without a dog. Charlie came at the right time :D -
I'll be going to the Sydney one

10 hours drives.. - Lap - At the floor of the passenger side - Booster chair - Small crate - Backseat with harness But mostly sitting at the passenger side floor (I layed out a blanket for her). Charlie was a 20 minute drive, he slept on my lap all the way home.

Omg! The Crate Is Massive! Where Do You Keep Yours?
W Sibs replied to Aztec Gold's topic in General Dog Discussion
2 crates are under the window in the living room side by side. Another crate is placed beside the entertainment unit (Charlie likes watching us watch tv). The other spare crates are put away in storage. -
 Emmy loves watching Flyball on Youtube with me. She does her cute head tilts as though studying the jumps and runs, and sometimes barks with the dogs to cheer them on.

I really want a Toller. How about getting another GSD? Kelpies are awesome too. TerraNik's kelpie, Revan, he loves playing rough.
-
that's the same as me. I like other animals but I probably never own anything but dogs.
-
sooooooooo cute!! as usual, awesome pics :D love them :D
-
i generally like all animals. I have a bigger love for dogs though. Not a fan of live chicken at all. I admire birds from a very very very far away too.
-
are you getting another dog?
-
Depends, I guess. What are you looking for in a dog? What kind of temperament are you looking for? I've meet some really awesome GR but, then again, I've also met some real nutters too. My 5kg dog has a huge personality..

I'm so sad to hear this I really enjoy reading about Benson and your crew. RIP Benson

Charlie: He likes big stuff toys that's bigger than him. He likes beating them up and then snuggled to them. He loves hankies and ribbons too. Or anything Em is playing with at the moment. But he doesn't tug, and his favourite game is "search"... he likes games that he uses his nose. Emmy: Any toy that's soft, furry and she can tug with. Squeakers is a must but not necessary. She also like cardboard boxes.

I'm soooo sorry to hear this. RIP Emma

No plan on desexing my aunt's dog. Not my place to do it or organise it. The dog won't be good in a boarding kennel. Lots of fear issues, but he really likes me. He is my shadow. I normally don't mind having him around, but it's just bad timing that my neighbour's dog went into heat and unfortunately he is not desexed. It's only for a week and I'm just tired, so I'm whinging.
-
I have no idea why my aunt's dog is not desexed. I've suggested it to her family before and they said they will, but never end up doing it. i have no idea why my neighbour's dog is not desexed either.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Maybe post this up in the Health section?

Some ideas to keep pup warm: - Get her PJs or make her wear a coat. - There are heated pads you can get for her too. - Hot water bottle or heated wheat sacks. - Get her a sleepy bag - Igloo beds helps too.

It's great to hear that the owner is being responsible and trying to help out by taking his dog indoors when he can. Unfortunately if a dog in your care escapes your yard and enters your neighbours yard it would be your responsibility not his as it is your legal responsibility to keep dogs in your care or ownership contained in your own yard. Although I presume he would have to take you to court for damages regarding his bitch being impregnated as council could not do anything about that What breed is your Aunts dog? Do you think it could jump the fence? He is a mutt x mongrel... I dunno. He is a weird looking dog. I think he has Maltese and poodle in him but other stuff too. I'm not too worried about him jumping the fence, but more worried that he can hurt himself trying
-
Yeah. I'm being more careful with him. He gets crated every night, he gets pen if I don't have time to supervise him. He is let out in the backyard when I go with him. When I'm at work, she's inside her house. I usually give the neighbour a holler when I'm home though but they know when they hear my voice because I talk to my dogs a lot.

he is real protective of her, so i think it will be alright. I was wondering, if something did happen... who's fault would it be?
