  1. Take a deep breath, relax and take one day at a time. Enjoy each day with your dog fully, instead of worrying about him. You worrying about him over things that is useless and silly, you aren't going to fully appreciate what you have with him now. Not to mention, it's exhausting and emotionally draining...
  2. Me too!! This thread is  Em only rips up cardboard boxes...
  3. Yes, of course, that's because I've socialised them with other dog and let them be dogs
  4. Yeah, because, to me, that's just bad behaviour.
  5. both my 2 are desexed (male and female) and they still mark, but they are only allow to do it outside. if you don't want him to mark, you have to let him know you don't (by either Growl or No or however you make him stop doing something you don't want him to do)
  6. Both my dogs are singleton... no litter mates to play with from birth. Emmy (my younger one) was put in a litter of poodles that were a few weeks older than her at 5-6 weeks old, so she more doggie than Charlie. Charlie thinks he is people He was basically hand raised by people, although he had the sweetest and nicest mum!! He will always choose people over dogs (I don't mind it) but I had to make sure that he knows how to act/behave around dogs. My brothers dogs do not read or understand doggie behaviour at all!! I didn't think it was possible, but now I do. I have to say it's amazing watching them.. they don't play or interact like normal dogs do. A lot has to do with bad manners and they aren't trained though. One example...Emmy is sleeping. Beagle goes up and tries to play with her. Emmy gives a warning growl and turns her back at him. He doesn't get it and pounces on her, she arks up and seriously tells him off. He runs off scared but a minute later I see him going back to Em again to play... I grab him by the collar and put him in a crate (while muttering 'Dude, do you have a death wish going on or something?')
  7. Awesome pics Shell!! (love the watermark too :D ) I love that Daisy is serious..
  8. Yeah, I really do believe some dogs forget how to be dogs. Humans takes that away from them.
  9. Muzzle is a great thing Can you train your dogs Food Refusal? We had in the past a few dogs that died of rat poisoning and my dad trained all our dogs food refusal. They are only only to eat what the family gives them. Took me a while to trust people feeding my dogs too after those experiences.
  10. Definitely seek a professional for help.
  11. Determined little thing (This is something Charlie will try to do )
  12. There is a good vet across the rd from aldi... I forgot the vets name and street name (been years since I've lived in that area!)...
  13. Yes. I'm very paranoid about things like this.
  14. Very very salty water. didn't know about the peroxide. i'll keep that in mind.
  15. Charlie doesn't mind walking in the rain but it's when he comes inside and realise he is wet that he throws a hissy fit and then gets all sad. He will sit on the towel and give me really sad eyes, and when i bring the dryer out, he literally runs to it and stands there while I dry him... he is really pathetic sometimes
  16. Classic ones: - Husky were bred to kill cats - Feeding raw will turn them feral and make them wild - If a child/person get bitten by a dog that dog saliva will give them dog like traits (eg.. they will howl and stuff. oh, and they will always like their steak rare) - Don't ever have to train Lab... give them a year and they will turn good I find them funny
  17. I don't know about other JS but Emmy can easily hike all day if we let her but she's 7kg though. she's condition for it because we go camping a lot and often take her hiking.
  18. Well, there is only 1 colour in Japanese Spitz :p I normally have a preferred colour when I want a pup (I've always like light colour dogs), but it always comes down to temperament and if that pup will fit into my home life/lifestyle. At the end, I'm going to love this pup regardless what it looks likes or colour it is. So, no, it's not important to me.
  19. Hope you feel better tlc. I love hearing about your dogs.. they sounds so amazing
  20. Oh Emmy is a growler. They are better than whingers (I have a whinger too) She growls eating a very yummy food, growls when she plays, growls before she goes to sleep, growls when she wants attention... It's normal.
  21. Nawww.. the scarf and hat, that's sooo cute!
  22. Take pup out, give her 20 minutes to do her business, if she doesnt go, bring her back inside and within 2 minutes coming in, take her straight out again. It's like they are outside and forget to go because there is things to distract them, once they go inside, it's like they remember they have to go and will go.... Praise and rewards like mad when she goes outside. Ignore and don't react if she goes inside. Be consistant about it. She is still young. Pup have no control of their bladder till they are 6 months old.
