I wouldn't pat the pup if he is tense while he is eating either... too risky. You don't want to escalate that issue to a bite. Maybe ask your breeder for some advice too. ETA: Snap Perse beat me to it

I don't think this is normal behaviour for a 8 weeks old pup. Where did you get your pup from? But, this is a behaviour I will try to fix quick smart. Contact Steve k9pro and talk to him about it but till then, I will suggest you give this a go.. Triangle of Temptation

 I have the treat pouch still around my waist. I'm always finding dry dog treats in my jackets pocket. Sometimes I'm sitting outside at the park and I will have dogs coming over sniffing my jacket pockets and I get weird looks when I take out a treat and ask the owner if I can give it to their dogs...

Introducing Ripley, The Newest Aussie On Mainstreet.
W Sibs replied to Gayle.'s topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh he is beautiful... he looks likes birthday and christmas all came at once for him!!! -
Did she get the puppy interstate?

Just play with the dog. I truly believe that you just playing with the pup, you're really relaxed, happy and just enjoying being with the dog... they will sense that. Play their games like join in their zoomies, play tug, go hunting with lizards with them.. Also training is a good way to bond with a dog.

Following On From Huski's Prong Collar Thread
W Sibs replied to Staranais's topic in General Dog Discussion
Which is the same problem with all tools, I'd be much more concerned with the mis-use of a Halter than a Prong. I feel the same. I don't support the ban. Yes. I've used both tools (not on my dogs). I cringe when I see people mis use the tools (or any other training tool). I was at the park once and I had to show the guy how to fix his prong collar to fit it on his dog properly and put the check chain correctly on this other dog... -
it was an accident...

Em doesn't like it when I rearrange the furniture either... she walks around a little confused for a while. then, again, she often looks confused :S

6wk Siberian Husky. Is His Weight Normal?
W Sibs replied to ArchieTheHusky's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yeah, I think you have a big boy on your hands there!! I don't think he looks overweight either. Did you get to view his parents? Were they big? -
Both are very handsome I do love Leo's eyes...
-
Charlie was an accidental finding and probably the best fine ever :D He is a CKCS x Shih Tzu, and at that time I was looking at either getting a CKCS or Shih Tzu. I wanted an easy breed after owning 2 Siberian huskies When it was time for another pup, I had to get another small breed dogs and I love Spitz breed. I fell in love with Japanese Spitz. I will probably never show a Japanese Spitz though (personal reasons) but I really really love the breed.

What Plans Do You Have In Place To Care For Your Animals
W Sibs replied to Tilly's topic in General Dog Discussion
If you where killed or seriously injured and couldn't care for your dogs - do you have plans in place for the care of your animals? Mr CW get them if I died. If I was seriously injured, Mr CW will look after me and the dogs But, if he wasn't around, my family will look after me and the dogs. They will be with me because they will probably be a huge influence on my getting better (even if it's mentally and emotionally). If you are renting - what plans do you have in place if your current rental becomes unavailable and you can't immediately find a place that will allow you to have your animals with you? I'm blessed that I have a lot of great friends who will help me out if I was in that situation. Mr CW and I don't live with each other, and we are always welcome to stay with him. In fact, Charlie and I were homeless for a few weeks when I was between houses and we stayed with him (also make me realise that I can never live in an apartment again) If you needed to evacuate your house for a period of time (days or weeks) - do you know what you are going to do with your animals? Same answer at the question above -
sooooo cute!!!!

Dogs have different growls to express themselves. Emmy is a growler and you definitely know the difference between play growl and not play growl.. but you also have to look at body language too. But, I agree with everything Poodlefan suggested.
-
Mr CW gets them.

Emmy is a very soft dog. A firm NO can really really upset her. But, she's not clingy like your girl though... she likes checking up on me, but she doesn't have the need to be with me 24/7. Do you crate or pen her? Have you taught her to be on her own? You have to be strong! Don't give in to her puppy dogs eyes. Em is also huge on routine and rules. As long as she knows what's happening next or what she is allow to do and not to do, she is quite happy.

Got mine from here too! I did get a mat for my crate too. But, it was more for cleaning purposes... if the mat gets dirty, I throw it in the washing machine instead of getting in the crate and cleaning the bottom of it.. does that make sense?
