  1. That is so rude! I had a lady telling me that Charlie is the most funniest dog she has seen (in a rude way) and I asked her if she looked at herself in the mirror lately (in a rude way). We left it at that.
  2. RIP Jake for you and your family
  3. Oh.. I love APBT!!! They are gorgeous I use to own a APBT x. He was such an awesome dog. I will probably never own one again but I have a great admiration and love for the breed. I have yet to meet an unfriendly APBT
  4. Thanks guys. He is pretty amazing. He cracks me up every day... so full of attitude, he is too smart for his own good and despite being little and only got half a spine... he can be so full of himself!
  5. Yeah. There are times where I know he is frustrated that he can't do what he really wants to do (like run after Emmy faster!) but that's easily solved by distracting him with something else. I'm looking forward for summer because I'm going to let him swim more. He is faster in water than he is on land...
  6. Well it's warmer now and Charlie is being more active. He spends a lot of time outside now hunting lizards, doing some weeding for me and just generally being his usual self... it's very good to see. This winter has been harder for him but he survived it (especially with lots of heated pads, beds, blankets etc). I'm going to get flamed for this but I no longer walk him on the leash. He walks way too slow for the leash now (he speed is slower than 1km/h) that it's not needed (also, there are times where I end up accidentally pull him and that kinda hurts him). He has a solid 'Stop' command and he can't walk far (50m is his limit). If I walk Emmy and Charlie together, we walk with the stroller. We start of in Charlie's pace (he has to work for his stroller rides) and end up walking Emmy's pace the rest of the way. He was put on diet and now lost half a kilo and he seems happier with the lost, despite giving me hell when he was on the diet  He goes to specialist yearly now for xrays (Yay!). He still on metacam and he gets that about 3 or 4 times a week. Other from that.. life is very sweet for Charlie
  7. Far out! Not sure what else to say but just live each day to the fullest with Amber. She is very lucky to have you in her life.
  8. Firstly, go to the vet for a check up. If she is going outside and do nothing and do it when she comes in. You know there is a routine, so take her in and within 30 seconds, take her straight outside again. Like others have suggested, I will advise to use a lead too so you can lead her to the area you want her to do her pees and poos.
  9. Most of the time: female - spay male - desexed But, I do often say that Charlie has no balls and Emmy had a hysterectomy.
  10. love it! (your comeback, that is) What an idiot
  11. Same. Especially if I'm not going to be around a lot. It will ease my mind that they are with people I can trust and be safe, then be at home all stressed out and dealing with dogs they don't like. talking this with experience i have when my bro and FSIL comes with their beagles... my 2 really dislikes them.
  12. Yay Amber. Hope she keeps getting better and better
  13. Oh, I had to come on here before bed to check how amber is doing Sending you lots of hugs and Amber healing vibes!!!!
  14. I often take Charlie and Emmy to cafes and no one has ever said anything. In fact, they bring water out for them. Charlie usually just goes to sleep under my chair and Emmy sits under the table. Talking to a cafe owner and he said that 90% of his customers are dog owners and bring their dogs.. it's good for business.
  15. If you want your dog to sleep on the bed with you, just let them. I don't think where dogs sleep is important to pack structure either. But maybe you can make them work for it, like they aren't allow on the bed unless you invite them on. You make them sit, get yourself settled in bed and invite them in bed with you, or something like that. The thought of Em not sleeping in bed with me is just too weird for my liking! Maybe you should see a dog behaviourist to help you with dealing with your anxious dog.
  16. RIP little girl. Fast recovery to the mum. Such a tragic.
  17. Ohhh... you gotta meet Charlie. Master of all whingers!! He whinges, groans, bark at everything!!! I seriously believe he loves the sound of his voice! He is not shy expressing his feelings to anyone.
