Charlie has been groomed before and he is really placid and easy going. Just paranoid that the groomer will lift him up the wrong way... There was a place.. but I'm not happy with them ;) they don't listen to instruction well... and he came home with a mild yeast infection, because they left his ears damp also the cut his little mohawk he use to have...

Thanks Clyde! If isn't so close to Christmas and I had some free time to travel up north, I would take you up on the offer about you teaching me how to groom Charlie for sure!! ;) Although I'm scared of cutting Charlie's nails though.. My next opinion was going to the vet so they can shave him off...

I need to take Charlie to the groomers he is in desperate need to get a fur cut and nail trimmed. Also, I don't want him to look so patchy anymore ;) My question is, Charlie needs to be carefully handle due to his sensitve back and my paranoia.. I was wondering if groomers will come out my way so I can keep an eye on the grooming and do the lifting? I know dog washers do house calls but, is there such a thing as a groomer house calls?

If he does that, I'll take him back inside, but within 30 seconds again.. I will take him straight back outside again and spend another 10-15 minutes outside again or till he goes to the toilet again. Of course, praise him senseless for doing his business

That's awesome!! congrates!!

A ribbon or a hankie...

Charlie started to do this when he got sick. We think it's because he has a sore back and his back legs can't hold in that position for a long period of time?

How Does Your Dog Singal He Needs To Go Out For A Wee?
W Sibs replied to Snowball's topic in Puppy Chat
The sliding door is always open for Charlie to go in and out. If they door is close, he will sit in front of the door and whinges till someone opens the door for him. If that doesn't work, he will sit there and bark very loudly. -
Interesting read. Charlie's furmum is a purebred CKCS. Charlie's furdad is a purebred Shih Tzu. So, that makes him a mutt. A very very very cute mutt though My old house guest was a Maltese x Shih Tzu.. he wasn't all that yappy either. Only when he got excited he would bark. His bark was loud, but I think that's cause he was deaf and can't hear himself. He was a handful, but i blame that on his owners.. they didn't train him.

that is adorable!

With Charlie.. when he is sleeping or snoozy. i would to touch him everywhere.. give him massages, I will play with his ears, legs, paws and around the face. He got use of me touching him all the time, and I used the brush on him. Now, he is happy to let me groom him awake or sleeping. Although, he usually falls asleep while I brush him.

sooo cute!!! from the look of the video.. you're going to have a handful there doesn't matter though, cause she is soooooo cute!!!!

Charlie was about 4-5 months when he started lifting his leg to pee but he does both. At the moment, he squats.. (it hurts when he lift his leg up). He was desexed at 6 months, and still lift his leg to pee afterwards.

I have to admit that I didn't give Charlie a bath before his biopsy, but that wasn't planned. This is the first time that he is not smelling the best. I can't give him a bath till after his stitches come out. He gets frontline every fortnight and heartworm tablets every month.

1. Socialise/training 2. Set rules from day 1. 3. Take a lot of pics (and post them on DOL! ) Importantly.. just enjoy your puppy

really? first time I heard of this. Most dominant dogs I know are high energy kind of dogs. Charlie is very mellow kind of fella and also laid back. His tail is low of the time in training. When we have to stand and listen to the instructor, he is known once or twice to lay down and fall asleep in class

Well, after dog sitting an 11 years old dog who's only diet is rice and vegetables... what i noticed about him was that he really stinks, he has really bad teeth and breathe, he wasn't lively and he didn't look good. after a month staying with me and me adding meat into his diet, he starting to have more energy, looks better and doesn't stink so much. coming home for a specialist... she says dogs have to have meat and bones in their diet!!

You know that it isn't really a good habit for you to get into ..... the scattering of dry food. Can encourage picky eating if the dog realises that if he refuses a meal that it doesn't matter because there will be SOMETHING available for him anyway. Far better to remove the meal completely and not offer it until next meal and then he'll be good and hungry and far less likely to knock back the next meal. And another reason for not scattering food or leaving dry food down all the time is that you run the risk of encouraging rodents. Yeah. But, it's not a lot. He has fun searching for his food in the grass
