i shouldn't be shocked that it's going to be expensive. But, I am a little I've never had a dog with HD before. Charlie is my a lot of first! When we were first told he had HD.. it was the same time they found the back/spine issue. But, we were told it was a mild HD. No mention of surgury... back/spine issue was more important. But now with his back sore.. we are thinking that it could make his HD worst? I won't know for sure what HD surgury he will need till 2nd February, when I talk to the specialist more. But, have to see how well his back is before any final decisions on when/if he gets the surgury. I don't think there is anything they can do for his back now, only hoping that he will heal itself.

I'm not entirely sure... Charlie has HD and the specialist said that he will need surgury to fix it. But, they aren't doing anything till they sort out his back... but lately, his hips are starting to bother him more. I just got curious to see how much it would cost roughly.

Hey all, just wondering how much will a HD operation roughly cost?

Charlie walks around while he poo... but he has to sniff out a really good spot to do it though. sometimes this can take a while.

i feel bad for the kid... she never had a chance. is this a face of a dog that can hurt someone? -
OMG... I took Charlie to the shop tonight, as we were in front of the shops. Charlie and I went for a little stroll, then a little girl with her family was heading towards us... Charlie (who was on his leash) slowly went towards her to say hello and the mum was yelling 'baby, that's a dog. run run... it's going to bite you' and the girl screamed and ran away while the parents and grandparents were laughing amused at the reaction following her. Me: My dog doesn't bite The mum: It's funny when she runs like that. Me: You're teaching her how to be scared of dogs by doing that The mum: She loves dogs.

True. If you find a place... there is no harm in calling them up and asking if it's pet friendly. Some will say no straight away, and some will ask about the pets and stuff. then ask the real estate people if they know any pet friendly rentals around there. good luck Nush!! Exactly... I'm about to put my house on the rental market and I don't plan on advertising it as pet friendly. However if the right tenant comes along who happens to have a dog I would probably say yes provided they have pet references. Where about Macka?

Charlie is a near perfect dog... Biggest work with him was picky eating... things were going well, then he got sick. And, it was important that he had to eat with medicine, so for a while I had to handfeed him. But, I don't do that anymore and it's easier because he loves his BARF and all high calcium diet He still won't eat dry food for the bowl. It still get scattered on the floor for him to eat it. I got great advice from people on DOL with that issues. Thanks. ;)

MM (aka Cyn.. still getting use of your new name!): I think there are days where he still need his crates, but not so much. We still need to bring the crate with us wherever we go. For just in case situations. One minute he can be walking and then next he will stand still and he doesn't want anyone touch him. Kelpie-i: You gave me an idea. I think I will start monitoring his crate usage. When I'm at home, I will put the crate away so that he can forget about it. He still has his mat where he can go rest on when he is tired. I will bring the crate down when I see that he has had enough. Is this a good idea? I came home today.. my sister said he stayed in the crate all day. I ignored him, and within a few minutes he came over to say hello. He was rewards with a lot of praises, kisses, cuddles and liver treats He is now in the backyard watching the sky. He helped me do the wedding in the garden too..

I know some puppy classes will let puppy enrol as long as they have their first shot. Charlie started puppy school at 10 week and yet to have his second shot. They will recommend you to wait till the pup had their second shots because taking them to parks or public place to socialise your pup though. As a pup, you can always carry him around to shopping and car rides or whatnot, so your pup is familiar with traffic sounds, people coming over to pat it and gush over it.

Yeah... my dad said the same thing We still take him out to the park with the crate too. Only because we don't know when he can be sore again. It's very unpredictable. I've been tougher on him when he is in his crate now, I leave him alone and don't pay any attention to him. Although, he will still try to whine when he wants attention... if boyfriend's brother is over.. OMG.. my fella can really put on a show!! We are all starting to ignore him.
