How Can I Find Out Who Bred My Chi
W Sibs replied to crazyboutdogz's topic in General Dog Discussion
Depends how old the puppy is... when I first got Moose he looked exactly like he does now that he's desexed. Just meat, no veg. ETA - Oh I see the Chi is 5 months. Moose had balls by 5 months. I would safely say if there's nothing there he's been desexed. haha.. my aunts chi's were all showing by 5 months too! -
How Can I Find Out Who Bred My Chi

go to the vets. ask them to scan him about the microchip. you will know if he is desexed or not.. just have a look If there is nothing there.. he is desexed -
Because I don't exactly know how to deal with all this! I was told that if I need a second opinion, then I need to get Charlie's medicial papers and xrays to bring to other specialists. I realise now how things work, it makes sense and less stressful! Although, I do want copies of Charlie's xrays. Just so at home, I can study it myself. I'm weird, I like looking at xrays.

Ok. Thanks all for the replies and help. You learn new everyday.. i didn't know that about xrays!!

My Dogs Have Killed A Snake And Eaten The Head
W Sibs replied to Chocolate's topic in General Dog Discussion
Omg that is horrible. My dog would die. 1. Because I don't have $1200 in my bank most of the time 2. Because my daily transaction limit is $800 so even if it was in there I wouldn't have immediate access. Thats really frightening Most places do take a deposit straight up. As long as you are paying them something.. Oh, i forgot to add Chocolate.. I'm glad your dog is getting better -
What I want is to have easy access to Charlie's medicial papers and xray... I'm not leaving the specialist office, I just want second opinions and other people to look in Charlie's case. Is that the wrong thing to do? Well, I know these guys are very interested in Charlie's case. They even suggest that I offered Charlie's body (when he dies) to them so they can do more research on him. We never had to sign papers about xrays at all. This is all kind of new to me.

Dogs Barking At Each Other When We're Not Home
W Sibs replied to benita's topic in General Dog Discussion
During the day they're outside with a doggy door through to the garage. When we're home they're let into the house. It never seems as though he's barking to come inside though, only at her. Unfortunately we don't really have the space or means to seperate them. If they are inside, when he barks at her, the neighbours won't be bothered as much.. LOL Maybe you could take him out longer on the walk without her. He might have a higher energy level then her? so you have to work on him more. After the walk, have a quick training session with him alone before you leave. Basically, just tire him out more. -
Interesting... We're not changing specialist or vet... we just want to go out there for second opinions. they have no idea what's wrong with charlie, so we want to go somewhere else to see if someone else does. more people working on this, the better.
-
that's what I thought. if i want a copy of the xrays then it should be mine.
-
that is so weird.

At the moment, the boyfriend and I are trying to get all of Charlie's medicial papers and xrays together... but the people at the specialist place says that they can't just give it to us. They can transfer Charlie's file to another vet/specialist, but only if the other vet/specialist agrees on it. Is this how it works? We were thinking about going to the specialist place to have a talk with them on Saturday about it or will it be a waste of time?

Dogs Barking At Each Other When We're Not Home

I was going to ask you, if they have access inside the house? Do you train them separately? Or, are they always together? Can you leave them apart during the day? -
Positive Thoughts Needed For Dear Porridge
W Sibs replied to MissMolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've added Porridge in my prayers. My thoughts are with her and you. Sending healing vibes too. She's gorgeous! -
Say you have a family emergency? Which is technically true because Jessie is your family.

Another quick update... I got a phone call from the specialist yesterday. They want to put him back on medication (human mediciation that is use for people who has Osteoporosis).. it's a tablet that he will have to take once a week (knocks the poor fella out for the day though). for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the medicine and if I did, i probably won't be able to spell it. I'm in two minds of giving him the tablet or not. Due to the fact that I'm not sure if it's worth making him sick for the day, when they AREN'T sure if this is making him better or not. I feel like they are giving him this, so they feel like they are doing something? I dunno. His calcium level has gone up.. so that's good news. Still waiting for his vitamin D test to come back though. We are in the process of gathering all his medicial papers and xrays to get second and third opinions.

Sorry to hear that Jessie isn't feeling well. The panting, pacing and the hot head is what we notice first about Charlie when he first got sick. It's an indiciation that he is sore/uncomfortable somewhere. Definitely a vet visit. ASAP.

Charlie gets fed twice a day. Whether he eats when he gets fed is a totally different story. If he had a big day, he will eat a lot. If he had a lazy day, he won't eat. He is one of those dogs that will actually stop eating when he is full. He has gone a few days without eating... despite me putting food out for him.

That was beautiful tribute. RIP Rocco. (i shouldn't of read that at work...)

(i know i will get flamed for this ) Charlie doesn't wear the collar at home. He gets to run around the house "naked" Charlie has two collar.. one for training and another one for walking and doing outdoorsy thing. I started training the day I got him. Everyday for 3 sessions of 5 minutes, I will put on his training collar for him and we do basic sitting, dropping, stay etc. The collar never once been an issue with him. I put it on him, and he knows that something good is going to happen. He knows that he will get treats or he gets to go for a walk or he is going to go somewhere!
-
I pretty much take Charlie with me everywhere from the moment I got him (8 weeks). Still do I didn't take him to the beach or dog parks till he was fully vaccinated though. He was in puppy school when he was 10 weeks old, so he met other puppies to play with. Also, my family has dogs and I knew they are fully vaccinated, so he would have play dates with them.

Who Wants To Share Their 'doggy' Credentials?
W Sibs replied to MsBex's topic in General Dog Discussion
Always had dogs. I don't remember a time when I didn't have one!! There was a period after I broke up with my ex that I didn't have a dog for 18 months.. nearly damn killed me Growing up though, we mostly rescued dogs though. My dad either founds strays or go to the local pound to bring home. Although, we did a German Shepherd Dog, she was a failed police dog, that my dad simply fell in love and kept. She was an awesome dog (despite having a little DA). I had 2 huskies with my ex (they are still with him).. they were a introduction of spitz breed for me. They really did keep me fit, those 2! Charlie is my first (and probably only) small dog and also puppy I've ever owned. So, learning puppy things and small breed dogs is quite interesting for me. Learning new stuff every single day. I'm going to do a Dog Training course this year. Something I've always wanted to do but never got around on doing it. Also, I want to get into rescuing but I have to wait till my life is back on track before I can start doing that.
