Tips And Tricks For Giving Dogs Their Medication
W Sibs replied to Pepi's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Just down the throat. Bad mummy though... I don't give treats afterwards. Just a kiss on the head and that's it. -
I got a question... have you taught your dog not to use the stairs? I did with Charlie. So, at the bottom or on top of the stairs, he knows he has to stand there and wait till we pick him up to go downstairs? He expects to be picked up. (then, again, Charlie has never cowered from me before)

ohh.. if i win, i know who i will like to give the ticket too

Sorry to go off topic but I find this sentence absolutly HILARIOUS.... Im married and my OH and I still always use the words YOUR dog and MY dog. We got our kids 5 days apart while we were living together so technically they are both of OUR dogs.... Its funny thou cause when ever they are being naughty they are eith HIS dog or MY dog... Never OURS Its always YOUR dog is doing that, MY dog never would do that, YOUR dog is the trouble maker... hehe... Sorry By the way I agree that your BF needs to set boundaries. You will prob find that both dogs flourish with them, aswell as make you life easier.

Sounds like you and your boyfriend has to sit down together and work out some kind of plan on how to deal with this problem. If you are unhappy with the situation, you have to talk to your boyfriend. Even if he doesn't think it's a big deal, still got to talk about it. If you guys are living together, then it's both of your problem. It shouldn't be "His Dog" or "My Dog" situation. It's both of your dog. Is he on any flea treatment? If he has fleas, then I advise you to give him flea treatment and fumigate your whole house, because the other dog might get fleas too.

nice. gonna mark that on my calander!

don't feel bad... I step on charlie's tail all the time so much so that I end up giving his tail a stylish cut.
-
He's learning "stay" for each time I need to pick him up. Other than this cowering he's a really outgoing little boy and often beats my other dogs up....the daxi is his favourite target! My aunts chi's are fiesty little things too She has 4 of them..!

i have a little dog... i kind of give him a heads up when I want to pick him up (i say 'stop') and he stands still and wait for me to pick him up. He even prepare his body for me to pick him up. I only pick him up when we use the stairs too. Our cuddles are down on the floor or bed

I will let you know! Yes, I plan to work in the industry after. It's something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I have great plans for the future

First time is always the hardest... next time, you know how it is and you can relax more on your next adventures. We take Charlie camping and he if off leash if we are going for walks. When we are at camp, he is tied up or penned. Even though he has really good recall, it's just safer that we do this for him... (we are scared we will drop something on him or someone trips over him). First time we went... Charlie just stayed IN the tent.. especially at night time. He didn't want to come out. sorry about the scary eyes

If you have papers and that your dogs are registered and chipped, photocopy the papers and write a letter to them.

Just fun and curious.. Charlie and the boyfriend have the same personality... both very cool, calm and collected. Very tolerant too (they both have to put up with me) The boyfriend says that Charlie can be demanding and bossy towards him... like me.

Maybe This Has Been Discussed Before....
W Sibs replied to Kelly_Louise's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hmm... I've never seen Charlie react to a dream like that. He twitches and stuff... but I like to make up little stories on what he is dreaming. But, lately when he is sleeping now, he is in a deep sleep and he lays very very still... sometimes I have to put my hand on his belly to see if he is still alive! My problem with him is his snoring. Him and the boyfriend are in competition right now on who can snore the loudest.. -
It depends... Charlie likes meeting new dogs but he doesn't necessary want to play with them, it's as though he just want to say hello to them and that's enough for him. He likes playing with little puppies though... and once in a while he will play with other dogs, but most of the time, after meeting them, he is happy to leave them and continue on his way.

Dogs Barking At Other Dogs At The Dog Park
W Sibs replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion
It's bad behaviour.. both dogs and owners who encourage it. I ignore the dogs and owners if they do that. The park I go to, it's big that we can walk away. Charlie isn't allow to bark at other dogs, so that is why he whines instead He isn't allow to play chasing games either... he is allow to sniff hello to dogs, bounce around a bit.. and then we say our good byes and head somewhere else. -
the boyfriend has to sit down because he was laughing so hard at both his brother and me..

this is the first time ever

What does it mean when a dog marks you? dominance? Or did he think I was a tree or something? he seems like a friendly but over excited dog. I was at the dog park with Charlie.. there was a lot of dogs and people around. Everyone was having a good time, till this dallie turned up. he was rushing towards a lot of other dogs, barking and trying to play with them. Charlie wanted nothing to do with this dog (way to energetic for Charlie's liking, i reckon). That dallie also marked the boyfriend's brother and 2 little kids in the space of 10 minutes! The owners were apologetic about it, but when one of the parents told them to put the dog on the leash (it's obvious they had no control of their dog).. they got nasty saying it's a dog park and their dog has every right to be there. By this stage, I walked away trying to find water to wash off dog pee off me... haha.. i forgot to add, that i was just sitting on the grass playing with the dogs. dallie rushes forward, sniffs me and then peed on me. i luckily got away quickly or else it wouldn't of been my foot he marked >_< it would of been either my body or face.
