Urgent Assistance Needed In The Wagga Area

Good idea! I can help out with another night boarding too -
Yes. Males are a quicker easier surgery. Thanks, that's what I thought but wasn't sure.

Have you tried Gladesville Vet? Is there a price difference between male and female dogs getting desexed?

Sorry to hear about your situation. The main reason I'm looking into getting a pup from a registered breeder is because of health. I need to know the health history of the pup's parents and all that. Then, again, I know that there is never 100% guarantee but knowing that both parents are all healthy, is better then not knowing. As for the HD, my CKCS x shih tzu has HD. He didn't when he was a puppy but it developed (the same time when he became sick). No vets with operate on him to fix it (due to his back) and I don't want him to be operated on. How bad is your pup's HD? What has the vet say to managed it? Charlie is on Metacam (anti inflammatory) when he is sore. We go on walks and I've started to let him practice his swimming in the bathtub (he is very little)... he has a heat bed for winter (although he always end up on the bed under the doona with me ).

Interested In..dogs With Disabilities..
W Sibs replied to redangel's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
They just need a lot more care then a normal dog, that's for sure, but eventually it just becomes part of home life. They accept their condition pretty quickly, so we have to do the same. As long as we treat them like dogs, give them their required exercise (physically and mentally), give them a good diet and a loving home... what more can we do? What more do they need? Charlie is a really happy, secure and confident dog. Despite having a rare illness that effects his back and sometimes his right back leg. -
That's awesome!! I've been reading your post and talk about major improvement. Well done :nahnah:

What Flea/tick Prevention Do You Use?
W Sibs replied to GoldenWei's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I use sentinel spectrum for fleas and worm prevention. I will use frontline if there is plans on going camping, but seriously considering getting Comfitis. people has told me that it's better than frontline. -
Me too. I always said I would never have another Golden and definitely never a male one yet there is strangely a 10 month old siting in my backyard.

I don't know the answer to that one. It's a little bit overwhelming isn't it?!

SBT123: Ohh.. I understand now. I, seriously, don't mind waiting. If that give the breeder some peace of mind to keep them till I get the pup desexed, then so be it. I have no hidden agenda or anything. She trust me enough to let me take the puppy entire, then I should trust her enough to send me those papers. at Poodlefan and SecretKei I rather do sports with my dogs though but who knows what the future brings ;) I always said I NEVER get another small breed dog. I'm going to get a Japanese Spitz. I always said I NEVER get a female dog. Looks like I may end up with one. So...
-
Seriously? They are gorgeous!! There will be a lot of photo regardless on what my decision will be (but i'm leaning on getting is if she is awesome as what the breeder has been telling me!). Pity we can't talk you into the show ring yet. ;) Me or SecretKei?
-
The pup will be on limited register for sure.. but she is not giving them to me till she has proof i've desexed them.. or something like that. Is that what papers you mean? Because, there are a lot of papers involved!!! ;) this can be confusing. I know, I get to choose the name on the registered and everything too...

Fair enough. My concern would be about desexing so young.. I'd be prepared to bargain to avoid it. My thinking exactly ;) Both of us had to compromise with this situation.
-
There is no way I would ever agree to that. Too many things can go wrong. I know. But, I was going to get her desex anyway. I have no interested in breeding or showing her. I would want to get my pup desex before she gets her first period too (seriously, i don't want to deal with a female dog on heat). I've talked to some vets about desexing pup early and they assured me that it doesn't change or effect the dog in anyway.

Me too! When I told people that I was planning to get a Japanese Spitz, they asked me straight away if I was breeding her!! (after they googled what a Japanese Spitz was!). Kinda got me nervous. She rarely sells her pup undesexed, but she likes me and said that the puppy is on hold till I come and see her on the weekend, and decide if she will be right for my family. If so, I will be signing a contract saying I will get her desex no later than 5 months and she is holding onto the papers till I get the puppy desexed (and give her proof that she has been desexed) :D
-
They are my usual vet!! I had a talk with them and they usually won't desex before 6 months. But, if I do decide to get this pup.. then I will go in and have a chat with them more about it and explain the situation. Thanks :D
-
You might like to contemplate why CW. I totally understand why they won't, and I respect that :D It's all good. I know and understand everyone view on desexing puppies at young age :D If I decide to get a puppy this weekend, it's part of the agreement I have with the breeder to have the pup desex before 6 months. 5 months the latest. I respect her wishes and understand where she is coming from. This pup's mum came into season earlier then some too. Also, I don't feel comfortable in my new area with a lot of dogs around to have a pup in heat. Although my house and yard is as secure as they come, I've seen dogs do incredible things to get to a bitch in heat!! I also have a desexed male dog at home who also goes funny over a female dog in heat.. and he is DESEXED!!! I seriously do not want accidents. I'm just planning ahead and working things out

MM, Thanks!!! I use to live in Newington and now I live in Ryde. Concord and Homebush is very near me! Some vet clinic won't desex puppies before the age of 6 months.
