Is It Common For The Price Of Pups To Go Up Depending On Demand?
W Sibs replied to Fleuri's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've talked to a few breeders and I reckon about 8 out of 10 them will charge more for a show dog then a pet dog. I thought it was common and normal Also charge more for male then females too. -

Hey if you live in Sydney... I can bring Emmy over and our dogs can have a play date..
-
First off, wake up and some play time Emmy: Come out and play!!! Charlie! Come out and play with me!! Charlie: You gotta be kidding right? She has to still learn that Charlie is not a morning dog Then there is serious TV watching time Charlie is taking a quick nap because Emmy didn't let him have his extra sleep in Then they must fight over the pig ear Charlie is guarding it with his dear life... then got tired and bored Emmy is fast... she stole it from him while he was sleeping After a day of play it's time for them to say good night!

Ouch.. i hope you get better soon. Do you have to lay on your back or your tummy? Can you hire a dog walker?

It's very very important to know the health of the pup's parents before buying the pup. I learnt that with Charlie. The specialist and vets kept asking us about his parents health, and the person we got Charlie off, didn't know much either. Having answers like 'Oh, i don't know' and 'have no idea' and 'N/A'... doesn't help anyone to help solve Charlie's problems. Made things a little bit harder, really.

Emmy is awesome :D So happy with her.
-
Wow.. that's awesome!!

I told them nothing is 100% but it's safer due to the fact that they will meet the pup's parents and have better clue on the health of the pup's parents. Instead of leaving those boxes unticked.. (like i had to do with Charlie).

Charlie tries to eat and lick morning fog/mist... then gets upset when he doesn't get it.

... I showed them Charlie's medical history notes (which is a little novel) and all his bills They are accountants so they calculate all the bills, and worked out that it's much much cheaper to buy from a registered breeder. Two friends of mine having been interested in getting puppies, and they keep asking me questions. They are to lazy to talk to breeders, thinking it's hard work etc. They just want to get a puppy ASAP... they don't care if it's from a pet store or byb (they won't rescue) After a long and frustrating discussion, I thought I will get them where it would hurt and that's their hip pocket... I pulled out Charlie's medicial history notes, and took out all the medicial bills that I've paid and then told the ongoing medicine I have to get for Charlie. It freaked them out! Safe to say, they are now strolling through DOL for proper breeders!!

How To Lead Train A 9 Month Old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Pup?
W Sibs replied to Purple Diamond's topic in Puppy Chat
Hi, How long have you had her? Emmy doesn't like the leash at first.. she didn't know what was going on. I put the collar on her and the leash and let her walk around the yard and house with it (total supervision, of course)... she is still in the clingy stage, so her wanting to be with me more was enough motivation for her to follow me around the house with it. After a few seconds, she was fine. She likes walking around the house with the leash in her mouth (the boyfriend always praise her for being so smart and walking herself!) Every time we leave the house (even if it's to get mail).. I will put the collar and leash on her, because I want to show her that collar and leash means outing. She is starting to get the picture. I hold up the collar and leash now, and she runs to the front door. Charlie and Emmy does not wear collar when we are at home. They get to run around the house naked -
With my pups... they they aren't allow to go greet anyone at the door (much to my boyfriend's dismay). They have to sit and wait on the rug and wait till I say OK. Charlie is really good at this and Emmy is a working process. We all ignore Emmy (who is a jumper) till she calms down. Emmy gets the sit but we are working on the stay. You can use a leash on your pup when people are coming in. Get her to sit nicely... then let the people in. Once they are in, ignore her hyperness and get her a pat when she is settled down.

OMG!!! i'm in love!!! seriously, how cute are they all? -
Haha... they are likes toddlers, huh?

At 8 weeks they sleep a lot... as they grow older they will stay up more. Emmy is a Japanese Spitz and she is one of the busiest pup ever. But, the first week I got her... she spend a lot of time sleeping. She and Charlie sleeps all day and are up and about playing for hours at night... (with quick naps in between).
-
awww... that is so sweet!!!
-
That's normal, puppy are like babies, they need to have a lot of sleep.
-
That's terrible and so uncaring!!!
