I joined cause I knew I wanted to get a dog in the future, and wanted to do alot of research before i buy one, pure-bred was the way to go and no better to come and join dogzonlone. Now i got beautiful 4 month old rott.

Just curious if anyone recommends any mobile franchises that deal hydrobath/grooming around the Brisbane area. That use good products and a groomer that will listen on what you want with a decent price tag.Or even a retail shop front? Might come in handy one day. Even though i prefer to wash my pup myself most of the time

I prefer the ingredients in adult formula, add more protein by mixing mince or yoghurt etc for calcium, and double the amount for pup with the adult formula.

How do you guys store your dry food? in the same bag or in cereal containers?

Yeah it does smell alot better than Nutro.

Julana delivered the product this morning here in Brisbane. Loved the product, packaging and price. She even gave me extra 1kg for free for the price of 5kg since I didnt ask for sample. My rotty pup is enjoying it. Cant wait till he fully gets off Nutro and into BH.

yeah when i scratch at his skin little flakes come out.

His on beef mince and Nutro, Milk. Still using what breeder has giving him. I think its more with the bathing as his been good on his food.

Ok so my 13 week old rottweiler has the dandruff. I told my father not to bathe him too much as he needs his natural oils in his coat etc, but he has bathed him today using warm water bucket using a cloth. We use fido puppy shampoo. Now I noticed when I got home his coast has got more flakes than last time. Not sure if he rinsed him well enough too. My father has a tendency to wash him cause he dislikes the dog smell lol. I'm not due to see the vet in another 2-3 weeks. my father wont be washing for him a while now since he is shocked about the flakes getting slightly worse. I know im going to use different shampoos in future aloveen,oatmeal etc. Is there any remedies for flakes to go away.

I was in similar position when i got my rott pup chico. 1st time dog owner, didn't know how really hard it was to raise a pup, first night was so noisey, than slowly got better bit by bit. But that first week we had second thoughts as a family if we should keep him. But so glad that we didn't. after 2nd week with 8 week old pup he just got better and adjusted. taking him to puppy pre school, made me a proud owner of a dog, especially rottweiler breed. Now I regretted even thinking of returning him to breeder. So try to resolve your living arrangements with neighbours, try different training methods, using toys,treats etc, never give up cause it does get easier down the road, unless you really have to pull out and let him go, see what options you have.

My rott pup was in a smiliar situation, his first day out in preschool. he was scared of the other dogs and was chased. Lucky it was only 3 in our class. But i expected it from our pup, it worried me at the start, but the trainer re assured that some pups get alot with others easyier than other pups. Trainer controlled the situation when he was being chased, was only for a short period of time with the free play. He was sitll taking treats, through the class. He was just abit timid with other dogs. The next class he bonded straight away with the 2 other pups in class, he was a whole new dog..he was use to them. I was so happy. Since than he hasnt had any problems with other puppies. Just be confident in your dog, loose leash when meeting other dogs, give him GOOD treats when training,

there are alot of dog clubs who have puppy school but only allow pups who had there 2nd shot which is 12weeks+ age. Better attend one who accepts below that age yeah?

I'm planning to take my rott pup to puppy school asap. At what age should i take it? His nearly 9 weeks of age, already had his vaccination and due for second one on the 30th. I plan to take it to Teamwork Obedience at Carseldine, they use a open field on campus, is that location ?

I only got a anti slip water bowl and a wire crate for my pup so far, what kind of toys you guys purchased? I'm thinking of getting alot of kong products, as they are usually trusted and safe, im scared one day they might choke on something, so looking for the good reliable products and not just giving anything to my pup to play with.

Havent owned a dog yet, but will soon in few weeks time. and will be getting a rottweiler pup. from my research and talking with the breeder, I wont be desexing, I might think about it after when the pup is 2 yrs old, but if there isnt any problems with its behavior or health than there is no need to. The breeders had bred many rotts in the past and recommends us not to do it unless there is a health issue, all his dogs are tamed and never had problems with other entires and from other buyers. I say let them have their natural systems inside them and lots of obedience trianing.

Ive only got the crate, there a shopping list on what to get? Still researching on different items. What collars/leads did you decide to get.
