  1. I went to a pet food shop last night, to get more Eco Pet and talk to two of the people that work there and the manager. Long story short, I like to make friends. And they explained this yeast thing to me, but I don't remember it all..
  2. Hey there, I have all my dogs on Advance, I believe Advance and Optimum is owned my the same company, correct me if I am wrong Doler's. 3 of my dogs ADORE Advance dry kibble... But they are food piggggggs. The other one gets Advance every morning, and eco pet in the afternoon cause she doesn't do the whole keeping weight on thing. ;) I love the way my dogs (all of them) look on Advance, and act (lots of energy like the breed should have). I once fed Supercoat, to one of my dogs, and she looked terrible, and got itchy skin... :D Back to Advance we went. Basically, whatever your dog looks/act well on is a good food for it... Some dogs do well on Pedigree, some on Advance. Each to their own.. There is some stuff, yeast I think, at pet food shops, you add a cup or so to their food and in a few weeks they will eat anything, apparently. I'm going to give it a try next time my fussy dog doesn't want to eat. :p
  3. How old is the puppy JulesP? And i it the BC in your profile picture?
  4. Thanks JulesP! There is a Petstock near me. I went in there about a week ago, and it looks like they are closing down... Its so empty! Thanks for everything guys. I ll be keeping my eye out for a freezer! April has put on a bit of weight, still a long way to go though!
  5. I love the smell of Eco too JulesP. Haven't smelt or purchased the Prime stuff yet, but will next week. Will be spending HEAPS on dog food... :D 2 big bags of Advance, Eco Pet and some Prime... Jebus!
  6. She was trying to teach him how to do it but gave up and watched him (becuase I was sitting on the floor trying to take a photo there was nothing better to do) :D Good girl Echo! You look after that little man!
  7. I agree with all of that.. I love watching mmy crazy dogs do zoomies in the morning, over nothing. I've got my own foster failure too. A gorgeous 10 month old GSP, the old owners live in Clayton! In a 3 bedroom house, with 3 children. When they dropped this boy off, we spent some time talking about him... Well, as soon as they saw my backyard they said it was huge... ;) Its an average sized yard... And I already have two other Pointers in it. Beats me what their yard looked like... Not to meantion, the father/husband was getting dragged everywhere by this dog... I love this dog to death, he is an angel here. They bought from a breeder, but I don't think they did their research... Yes, he did come from a breeder, they gave me his pedigree papers.
  8. Sory to hear arawnhaus, youmust live far out? So many places near me sell it, but I only buy it from the one place (this shop doesn't sell animals). I might have to start looking into a freezer, hey laneka.
  9. Love the smile on Echo's face! Poor bob boy though! He looks so sad, but I love how Echo is sitting there watching him! Archie is so cute!
  10. Thats what I used to do at the last place I worked. I would do that too! If I had a freezer spare! 4 dogs, and 5 people in this house. Not enough freezer or fridge spaace for us all!
  11. First photo I can knock out blue, and lemon! My dog's colour is classified as a lemon and white... She looks sad there, but she just doesn't like being stuck in my room with me. The other dogs are in the backyard with bones, toys, etc. Next is EEK! Third is my little man and a card. Fingers crossed it goes in order, if not I'm sure you'll understand what is what.
  12. Hey JS. I think you mean Pointeeblab. Good photo though JS!
  13. Lots of hugs for you groupfive. Your boy was a sweet and gentle man, and gave everyone who knew him lots of smiles and laughs. He was a very lucky boy to have you, and you were very lucky to have him. He's been on my mind all day, nothing can compare to the way you must feel right now, but you did the right thing.
  14. I'm the same! I have always LOVED bigger dogs. Mum wouldn't let me have a GSD or Rotty, so I got a Pointee, and now love them just as much! With that said, dad had a GSD at that point in time, and a Labardor! OMG! Two nasty breeds! ;) Sorry, had to add that. As much as I love the Pointees, I would still add a GSD or Rotty to the family.... If I had property!
  15. Very sorry to hear groupfive! My heart goes out to you, same with my OH and family. We are all hoping for a recovery, and am hoping all the best for you and your boy.
  16. Thinking of you and your boy, have all day. Hoping he recovers somewhat for tomorrow! And has a speedy recovery all together!
  17. Thanks for that! Glad to hear about your boy and how is on it! ETA: Its a bit of a drive though... I'm in Sunbury (other side of the city)
  18. Glad to hear his body is responding, he seems like a real little fighter who just wants to go home. And by the sounds of it, he's going to be home. Still thinking of you and your boy groupfive! Edited for bad spelling
  19. You would also have to take into consideration, a number of people are actually scared of either big dogs, or dogs in general. So stories about dog attacks on humans and other animals tend to build up this fear even more... Take my mum for instance... She used to be scared of anything bigger then a Staffy... ;) She was always saying about how she would get the family a BC, but came home with a malt cross... Well, a year and a half later, I wanted a Pointer, and a bitch came home.. This cured her fear a little... Then, a year and a half after that, a second Pointer bitch... Then, 3 months later, a GSP dog. Needless to say, she isn't scared of my guys any more. I know the feeling, I was had a lady yell at me while I was walking my GSD dog at the beach... Mind you, she was just sitting on the grass, and my dog and I were walking on the sand, dog on a lead, and she just had to yell out... ;) My GSD was the sweetest thing, such a great family dog... I still miss her. I have spoken to a vet in my area, apparently the Labrador is the breed he puts down the most for biting someone. :D I couldn't believe it. In all honesty, if Labs and GSD were as nasty as people believe, then they wouldn't be used as guide dogs, true? The GSD has a bad name because they have been, and still are used as guard dogs, same with dobes, rotties, etc, etc, etc. All we can do as either owners or admirers of these breeds is try to inform others of the positives of owning this breed.
