Fifi Only that the folk who show in Sydney (30+ years in the breed) have often said this in passing. From memory they say ut will still show the mix from the breed recreation. These are folk I would think know what they are on about but I dont have anything factual. If you havent heard it then maybe there is more to it?? Enquiring minds and all that. Meea

Not heard that before Meea, I only mean purebred parantage recording for pedigrees and import / export, not testing for x-breeding. I'd love more info on this if you have it. fifi

Not a very practical plan. I am nearly always the only dog of my breed. No help needed there! It is the breed in front if me I need the count on - can be an hours worth if sleep of they all turn out! See my famous car park dash when they dont!

I wld happily look online if we knew where. Perhaps if they told us in tge gazzette?? ' show updates on DOL/FB/Ozshow whatever. Just an idea.

Here in NSW we get a breakdown more often than not and more recently it will appear online somewhere. But not always. I know the info must be provided to the judge ahead of the show so the extra step of providing it to us punters in some way surely isnt too onorous is it?? Lots if other show info gets online - amendments etc. ?? Just puzzled.

Me too. I have taken to leaving their Rogz harnesses on for that very reason. I gave had flashing lights on their backs as well that way it doesnt hide in their coat!

These suggestions put the onus on the competitor - how about the steward who should be controlling the ring. Being forced/encoraged into the ring without regard for the speed of the dog in front. I have a running dog who has to go in after a teeny breed and often have to ask for a bit of time so as to a) give my dog an opportunity to run as he should and b) Not freak out the littly in front. Cudos to judges who split by the group by speed.

Blowing out is not a setting. You just plug the hose into the exhaust -blow out the dust (best done outside!) and off you go. I have been able to do this on every vac for years. Probably not on an upright if thats what you have but works on any barrel.

I hv big hairy whippets (aka deerhounds) and every male over 25 years has peed on every coat they owned. *shrug* Edited to remind myself that the itsmeg jimjams seem to make it thru ok.

This!! And a raincoat (doggie!). Best investment I have made. I have a dog with an absorbant coat too and use to hate the wet (bring back the drought......) the coat has solved it for us. Meea

I abandoned midway as well. No options for sensible healthy knowledgeable food management. Just made me cross as I wondered what poor animals the researcher is accountable for. *shrug*
