Blue Fairy, let me know if you want to re-sell it I'm not sure what size to get for a cavalier but I guess the small would be a good idea for when she's a pup?

Thats what we do too And my kids know dogs can't eat chocolate so are really good and all chocolate go in the fridge, which makes it safe from the dog, Mum not so much

I can commiserate with you on the frustration, not nice is it Last year (about November I think ) I started contacting breeders etc. but live in a state where there arn't really many Cavalier breeders and I think my timing was wrong (as in just before christmas) as I got hardly any reposnses to emails/messages left on voicemails etc. Even the Cavalier Club didn't get back to me, was very upsetting HOWEVER I have now met a lovely breeder who will hopefully be having a litter in June so fingers crossed there is a baby there for me (provided she doesn't have a litter of all boys LOL) so there is an end in sight ;) Fingers Crossed your happy ending will happen soon too ;) Jodi

Both good points However I am only getting a small breed (perhaps 7.5 kilo's as an adult) and the collar I bought is mainly for puppy training in the backyard to get her used to wearing a collar. I will of course get a "proper" collar for when we go out as cute as my breed is they can be a bit "clueless" LOL and need to be properly restrained :-) Owning a Lab I have lots of experience with the need for proper restraint ;) Jodi

Just quietly RCBG - I got it at the Reject Shop I figure I can buy her a "proper" one when she get bigger although she won't be wearing one very often anyway, only for walkies

I recently saw a pic of a Border Collie cross MINIATURE Dachshund, I felt so sorry for the poor little thing. he looked very much Border Collie coat but in a Dachshund body I just keep thinking how horrible it would be for the poor little tike to have the BC instincts and be physically unable to do anything about it becuase of his little legs, I mean I admit I don't know much about Dachshund's and their limitations etc. but they can't be anything near physically like a BC right?

Hi everyone BF, I went through a stage of considering a pug but there were a few issues so I decided against a pug, although the breed I have chosen comes with it's own issues (heart problems and anal gland expression being on the list ) LOL. Pugs are gorgeous though so lots of piccies are a must and I hope to meet the little one in RL one day this year, LOL I am "laybying" my pup I trust the breeder explicably and won't be going through anyone else, I'm first in line for the two litters she has coming up and if nothing eventuates there, I'll just wait a little longer Jodi

Thanks, I PM'ed you back, LOL I am getting a pretty "popular" breed and even then I am getting a pup from interstate as even though they seem to be extremly popular everywhere else, SA has bugger all breeders of Cavaliers, LOL Jodi

I am a little worried but my breeder has 2 bitches due to come in season next month so hopefully one of them at least gets up the duff Knowing my luck though they'll both have boy litters

Hi everyone :rolleyes: Hope it's ok if I join you, I have been lurking for awhile but have finally decided to post I am hoping this year to add an new additin to the fur family, I am hoping to get a Cavalier King Charles baby in August, breeder has 2 bitches that are due to come in season in April and I will have pick of the litter (after her of course) so hopefully there will be a little girl in there for us Just hoping the 2 bitches don't have entire male litters I am taking it slow in buying the puppy parafanalia (spelling?) but have so far purchased a crate and 2 puppy toys Didles, I am so sorry you are going through all this heartbreak, it must be devestating for you and your children Jodi

I'm not Jodi . . . but suggest that there's a story about a dog fighting ring stealing dogs, and the police being unwilling to investigate. Include a sad story and a number for people to call if they have information. That would boost readership in the local fish wrap :D and might actually help the situation. Someone else may have better suggestions . . . I'm not an expert . . . but this does sound like a cast that needs public attention. Yep thats what I meant, sorry should have elaborated my first post :D
