I have a 3-legged cattle dog who is about 2 years old. We don't know how or why the leg came to be amputated - he was like that when he turned up at the pound. We have two other dogs - a kelpie and a JRT x tentie - and the cattle dog runs faster than both of them. He only has one speed, and that's a million miles an hour! He moves as freely as a 4-legged dog. The only time it ever becomes an issue is at bedtime. He knows when it's time to go to bed, so he starts dragging himself around the lounge room! Couldn't possibly expect a 3-legged dog to walk all the way doen the hallway to his bed Most nights I just end up carrying him!

When our border collie was young he would try and have a go at any living creature that wasn't dog or human. He hunted and killed rats, mice, birds, and tried to get lizards, cats etc. He mellowed greatly in his old age, to the point where when we got chooks, the dog and 3 chooks were often found sharing the dog's dinner from his bowl at the same time! He didn't mind one bit. Sadly neither dog nor chooks are still with us, and there is NO WAY I'd trust any of the dogs we have now near a chook.

Dr Davies is absolutely brilliant. Our now-passed away kelpie Max spent the last 14 months of his life making regular visits to him. He was caring, compassionate and honest at all times. Highly recommended.

My kelpie didn't want anything to do with the dog door, despite seeing the others race in and out when they pleased. For a whole year he wouldn't have a bar of it, so I gave up trying to teach him. Then one day I'm sitting in the lounge room, and in he comes with no encouragement whatsoever. Must have just decided he'd have a go at it! He spent almost that entire afternoon just going in, out, in, out constantly. Was pretty funny! Now he uses it whenever he pleases.

They were also flimsy. I've got 2 of those in the 36" and hate them, the Whippets are the only one's that use those. We had the same problem here. One of the 36" ones we bought has started to break and fall apart. However we also bought a 24" one from the same company and it is of much higher quality. We recently bought a new 36" crate throuh deals direct and it is much sturdier.

The restaurant in question is my local Thai restaurant, and we go there quite a bit (although I may go elsewhere after reading this). The staff have very little English and it can be hard just to place your order, let alone trying to get any other point across. Nonetheless I think this situation is absurd, and it might be time for us to find a new Thai restaurant.

Our kelpie is Chesney- named after the country singer Kenny Chesney. Our little foxie x is Sandow - you would have to be a rugby league fan to get it. Chris Sandow is the little guy on the South Sydney Rabbitohs team who likes to tackle the big guys, which is exactly what Sandow has done since the day he came to live with us. Our border collie (who passed away just last week) was Dallas - named after Dallas Winston from the movie The Outsiders.

Thanks Gracie Monsta, I fully accept that. I ended up at the clinic after being unhappy with our previous vet at Henley Beach Vet Clinic. My experiences have been great, but I fully accept that those of others may not have been. If I ever had to go through the hassle that Fevah has obviously experienced, I wouldn't hesitate to move my dogs elsewhere. At the end of the day, we all have our pets' welfare foremost in our minds, so we all do what we think is best.

Just to add to the love-fest I too can strongly recommend Dr Condon. Absolutely fantastic with our dog.

Oh, and for what it's worth Fevah, I am extremely sorry to hear about the traumatic experience you suffered with your dear old dog.

No no no no no no. I've said it before, I'll say it again - they do NOT know their stuff. I know its open later and all that, but it doesn't make up for expertise. wire, I live in Glenelg too. I've been vet hopping. I can not speak highly enough of Dr. Nick Male at Marion Small Animal Hospital, 827 Marion Rd, Mitchell Park. We will have to agree to disagree. When our dog was diagnosed with some quite serious kidney problems, they were spot on with their diagnosis and advice. Our dog ended up seeing a specialist at AVSARC on Magill Rd on a regular basis, and he spoke very highly of Fulham Gardens Vet Clinic,and the advice/treatment etc they had offered. Fevah, everyone has different experiences I suppose, but just like you I have tried many many vets. Right now I see no need to take my dogs anywhere else. Don't just snipe at me, two other posters agreed with me so I have no idea why you decided to single me out. I went through a very traumatic experience with my old girl and they had absolutely no clue, I finally got so frustrated I went to my previous vet that lived an hour away from me, he told me the problem within a minute, gave me the medication needed and she had a heart attack after the visit before we got in the car and passed away. He even let me ring my parents who were overseas at the time, and let me stay and cuddle her and bawl and grieve until I felt strong enough to drive home. This was after a week of going to Fulham, day after day, they even made me take an x-ray even though the problem was clear (no, not to the everyday pet owner, but should of been damn clear to a vet). She was old and in pain and someone should of had the guts to tell me to put her out of her misery, like my old vet did when I finally took her there, but the Fulham vets I saw (and yes it was more than one) didn't seem overly concerned, probably because she was an old dog so who cares right? So, yes, our opinions differ - greatly. Relax Fevah, nobody is sniping. Our opinions differ, that is all. Yes two others agreed with you, but the many others that are there every time I take my dog in (weekly at present due to an ongoing problem) agree with me. No big deal, I have my opinion as do you. It happens, so no need to be so sensitive because we don't agree. For the record, my dog is almost 15, and Kylie doesn't seem to think his welfare is a case of "who cares?"

Fulham Gardens Vet Clinic on Tapleys Hill Rd. They have recently moved to new premises about 500m north of their previous location. We have been taking our dogs there for 5 years or so, and have found them to be fantastic.
