  5. OMG. Though, I was down at Marion last Thursday and there were no puppies or kittens in any of the glass cages (@ Pet's Paradise). Don't know what's going on there, hopefully it's closing down :D
  6. Another vote to desex here :D for reasons already stated.
  7. I never used to put Jess in stays when she wasn't passing, but I did on Saturday thinking she'll stay since it's homegrounds. But nope, little witch dropped in her sit stay, not once but twice! So no more non-qualifying stays for her!
  8. I do watch his show sometimes, I guess I agree with SOME of the things he does, but the rest of it is just plain weird. Most of the time it just seems like the dog doesn't get any praise at all, it's just a correction for doing something wrong, but do something right, the only reward is not getting another weird correction. One episode there was a dog who was extremely scared to go walking in the city (which is where they lived). Cesar's idea to fix this was to tie the end of the dog's tail to the leash (with the other end clipped to his collar), so his tail was high in the air as he walked. I really don't see how this worked! Another episode he was trying to 'train' a dog to like swimming in the pool, solution? Force her into the pool. Just saying, that would scare my dog even more...
  9. No brags from me again, Jess did a lovely novice recall in open today ! Argh! Most of her ringwork was really messy but somehow she got some decent scores Well done to Seita and Ella, that's great news!! And congrats ness too :D ^I did see some very nice work from a certain Toller out there today
  10. At least she got an open quallie, ness ! Apparently qualifying is too much to expect from Jess Nice work in UD too!
  11. Not much of a brag from me today. We had a double obedience trial, Jess entered in open (which is her second open trial). AM trial, she didn't do COP and PM trial she didn't do DOR. Both trials she lied down in sit stays!! Seems she doesn't wanna drop when she needs too, but will happily drop when she's not meant to! But apart from stays, she passed all exercises, but just over both trials! funny dog, we'll try again tomorrow I guess!
  12. Woah $100 a trial! The most I've ever spent on entries was $64 and that's over a two day trial!
  13. I think Flat coats are more bouncey but I don't know for sure. Slow to mature I've read? They didn't want a super energetic dog right? Well from what I've heard 'oodles' can be hyper crazy energetic so they really really don't suit there needs at all.
  14. Challenging? I find it challenging to live without her! Mine has never, ever tried to escape. Ok, yep she is constantly analyzing/reacting to every tiny movement, but I wouldn't describe training her to be a frustrating experience (most of the time ) ETA: Oh and there was something about chasing cars all the time... uhhh what? My BC much perfers tennis balls rather than automobiles
  15. x2 My retriever loooves this and it keeps him entertained for ages! Both my dogs sleep most the day, then play fight a bit, sleep, play, sleeeeep!
  16. So I've been thinking for awhile about getting a SLR, probably not 'til next year at least, but I want to do my research I've been looking at reviews and things, but I want a DOL opinion What's a good SLR to start out with?? (There's bound to be a similar thread around here some where....)
  17. Is it just me, or do all of the working line dogs look healthier?
  18. Me too, and in every one so far I have preferred the working dog over the show one. Yeah same here!
