What Would Your Dog/s Prefer...a Big Meaty Bone Or A Walk?
Tay. replied to fainty_girl's topic in General Dog Discussion
even my food obsessed golden would take the walk!! -
I had a bullmastif who loved home improvement shows While I was watching TV at my friends house, as soon as a dog (even a silent dog) came on TV, her Lab jumped off the couch and starred right at it. So funny!

well... that's annoying!!!

Is there such thing as an Ag CH2 or higher? Like if a dog gets their Ag CH again after they've already got it. I ask because in the US (AKC), the record number of MACH's is 27! And the biggest surprise is the record holder is a papillon! http://www.harbornet.com/folks/rellis/MACHLISTSort1.pdf

Do You Use Jealousy To Your Advantage?
Tay. replied to raineth's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I wish my girl would get jealous when I'm giving my boy a bath, but no, she goes and hides ;) If I'm training Bailey with food, Jess couldn't care less. As soon as I get out a toy for him, she starts screaming. -
Well said ;)

;) Too confusing for me

Didn't really want to start a new thread for this question, so I'll pop in here Does anyone know what the competition length/height of the see-saw is?? I'm going to try and make one over the summer (or I should say, get my dad too :D) ETA -- never mind! I found it :D

I sort of thought I wouldn't do goals for next year, because I want to not care if Jess passes of not, as long as she's having fun (in agility, she's having almost too much fun though!!) but I gave in, I like goals Jess -CDX title -Start Utility training *undecided* -JD title (only one more leg!) -AD title -Leg(s) towards JDX, JDO, SD, GD -Finish teaching the bloody see-saw then.. -ADX + ADO trials Goals for me would be to not get so nervous in the ring, focus on the good more than the bad and to better my crappy agility handling!

Like other have said, I'd let the breeder help choose off topic a bit, but does anyone else have an issue with litters of puppies being described as 'batches'? ....

This would be something I'd love!! Not really sure what I'd pay for membership, $200-300? If there was something like that around I'd probably pay more because it's actually there

what about a simple; *prefix* Regal Nala *prefix* Queen Nala (I googled the name meaning, it said something about queen lol) I'm no good with names!

WTG TerraNik and Abby!!! Nice score!! :D Bummer about Jedi's stays... hope there's video of his beautiful work Jess thinks she's too good for obedience, I mean, why stop when doing retrieve on flat when you can just auto-finsh? saves much more time.. *facepalm* ah well, nice scores in everything else, silly pup.

How We Got Started Competing In Dog Sports....
Tay. replied to ness's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Really interesting thread :D I had always loved dogs but really hadn't had much to do with training until we got Bailey (Golden Retriever) when I was 11. I trained him tricks and when he was about 8 -ish months my dad took him to dog club for obedience training (as I was too young to handle him [club rules]). When our other dog Lily died, we decided to get Bailey a friend, who turned out to be Jess (Border Collie), who is my first dog. I took her through all the grades at dog club and ended up in the trialling class. In May '09 we started trialling and she now has her CCD, CD and 1 leg towards her CDX. I started agility training with her at home, then went to a club afterwards. After re-starting her agility training this year, we entered the agility trialling world in Oct. She now has 2 legs towards her JD. And that's how my addiction started off! -
Different/unusual Breeds In Dog Sports
Tay. replied to huski's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I've seen border collies in agility It's the weirdest thing to watch -
Congrats on Kenzie's JD, ness !! Way to go AD and your pups! No brag from me this weekend ... Jess is currently searching for a new handler, as I made a total mess of her jumping run! And just missed out on a quallie in agility, one bloody knocked bar :'( But this was the first trial I didn't have a feral dog in the ring, she was quite controlled, I just messed up

I'm thinking I might just enter to have a bit of fun for the end of the year, ah I don't know, decisions decisions!
-
I'm much more bonded with my girl. But her bitchy-ness towards other dogs gets annoying, but my boy just loves everyone.
-
Quick question. Is gamblers and snooker a lot easier once you get out there and have a go at it? I've read the rules and I think I get it (just not 100 %) and I'm quite tempted to enter a games trial next month. So basically what I'm asking is, should someone enter a trial if they don't understand it 100%? I'm thinking to fully understand it, it's best to actually have a go, but I'm not sure
