  1. ;) Haven't had a look in this thread for a while... wow! there are some pretty extreme brags to start off the year! Congrats.... EVERYONE ;)
  2. I'm very very behind in this thread, but I'm just going to share today's photo, because Jess' cuteness needs to be shared ;) 044/365
  3. Who uses/has it? I'm tempted... Is it worth it??
  4. Hi and Welcome! Your dogs are adorable! Good to see someone the same age as me on the forum :D
  5. Thanks for the replies ^ I think I'll spend most of today watching turtorials
  6. ;) I'm glad I downloaded the free trial before buying it... if I'm getting no where once the trial is up, I don't think there would be any point in me buying it!
  7. I think you can edit photos on Picnik through Flickr. At the top of your photo, you click 'actions' -> 'edit photo in Picnik'
  8. I'm going to re-word what I said... I would pay more for a puppy from imported working/performance bloodlines. I wouldn't pay more for a certain colour/marking/gender within the same litter.
  9. Firstly, I'm gonna say, I'm hopeless when it comes to editing... I don't usually have much of an idea on what I want the photo to look like and just fiddle around until I sort of like what I see. Lately, I've been using Photoscape. Last night I downloaded a free trial of Photoshop Elements 9. I've only ever used it once before, in art class to do some digital colouring, but that's all. And basically I just have no clue even where to begin! So what I'm looking for is some basic tips and tricks to get me started. Surely I can't be the only one slightly frighten of PS ;) Are there any helpful sites that might help me out?
  10. In Border Collies at least, I wouldn't want to get a puppy from a breeder who charges more for certain colours. I think it shows that they are in it for money... A 'Lilac' coloured puppy wouldn't cost anymore to raise then a b&w puppy, under normal circumstances. Not a fan of breeding for candy colours anyway.
  11. Imo, a working bred puppy should have the same, if not more socialization then a pet puppy toys will make them soft.. what a lot of crap quite sad really.
  12. You can make collages with free programs like photoscape and picnik
  13. I've lost track of everything I call Jess ; Jessika, Jessie, J, Spazz, Snook, Snooki, Feral, Weasel Dog, Skitz, Skitzo, Pyscho, Tard(face) .. ;they're the most common :D. Bailey gets; Bay, Bails, Roger, Rog, Rogey (and random insults from time to time ) eta; forgot two :p
  14. Way to go, Willow!! Good luck finding your friend a breeder :p I once spent ages convincing a friend not to get her puppy from a pet shop, contacted breeders and everything for her. She seemed to understand... Well that lasted a whole 5 minutes, she caved after seeing cute puppies at a pet shop :D
  15. And the thing with that DSO is this......Were you happy with the service? Was it want you wanted with your furkids? Did you feel you got value for money? If yes, then that is great. It is your money and you spend it how you wish. This year I have shopped around to find a good deal for my budget and for my dogs. Yep, I'd say I was very happy with the service. I've been going to the same vet since both dogs were puppies, they are always treated well and always get treats and cuddles from the nurses. Never seemed rushed and usually have a good chat with the vet. :D
  16. I don't really have any experience with registered breeders. My current two dogs are from BYB (didn't know any better at the time) which I totally do not support now. I think I feel guilty for supporting the byb world in the past, that now I'm super paranoid about finding the 'perfect' breeder. However, Jess is my heart dog and I don't regret getting her at all. When I was about 5 years old my parents got our first family dog from a 'registered breeder' (I use this term lightly because I'm not 100% sure). Our dog had a million health issues throughout her short (6 year) life, most hereditary problems I assume, and we later found out (through another breeder in the same breed) that her breeder was really dodgey. So that has left my parents in a sort of against registered breeders mind frame....
  17. Both dogs just had their vacc's/check up.. $180.
  18. Dogs 101 And various Animal Cops/Animal Precinct type shows!
  19. I've never really though how dog friendly Adelaide is! I don't know what to compare it to! There's plenty of parks and beaches where dogs are allowed and I often see people at cafe's with their dogs. I guess it is quite dog-friendly then! I've never had a problem with someone telling me where my dog can and can't be. I wish you could apply for a permit or something to take dogs on public transport though.. that would be great for me!
  20. I'm hopeless at keeping up in threads... Week 3 Week 4 Week 5 Week 6
