I'm quite shocked at the opinions of some people on a PURE BREED dog forum. Makes me worry what the general public are thinking.

Lure Coursing In Adelaide - For Non-greyhounds
Tay. replied to jacqui835's topic in General Dog Discussion
Argh! Bummed that I'm only seeing this thread now! This is something I'd love to get into with my Border Collie. Will definitely keep an eye out for this thread for upcoming dates! :D -
I failed on day 2, . So I'll just watch from the sidelines Lovely photos all!
-
I should probably give it a go too, been so lazy with my camera lately! And Oh my, Zora is gorgeous!
-
Amazing!!! Love those eye shots too, now I wanna see what my eyes look like up that close!
-
Thought i'd come back and see what my goals were - and looks like i've done all I need to for the year We finally got our CCD title, i've started competing in agility and even have a qualie, and i've started more herding!!! We also joined a flyball team and have our first comp in the next few weeks :D A big congrats on your CCD title, Murve - was the weekend for it :D :D You and Lottie have done very well Beth ! Flyball too, what can't you do!? ;) (Oooh, that rhymed :p)

Kind of finished two goals already So to that I'll add: -GD title -have a go at pairs In April Jess got her JD and this month she got her AD and CDX. Need one more leg for her GD. First trial in agility excellent will be on the 9th of July. I haven't been entering opens, entry fees without extra runs are bad enough And we've sort of started the bases of UD training. Not too bad for half way through Love reading about goal accomplishments Just realised Jess has completed a few more goals, with 2 legs towards both her JDX and ADX and she had her debut run in ADO last weekend (was kind of a train wreck run, but oh well!) Games goals are still incomplete because I haven't been able to enter any games trials

Lovely! Do you mind me asking what lens you were using?

Difference In Herding Breeds For Dog Sports
Tay. replied to aussielover's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
It really depends on the lines which the dog is from. There is a huge working/show line split between some of the breeds listed. A lot of Aussies I see in agility are quite heavy dogs so they are a lot slower then the BCs/Coolies/Kelpies etc. But same goes for some Border Collies too. I have relatives with Kelpies and when comparing them to Borders the Kelpies seem more stubborn, dominant, wanting to do their own thing. But that might just be the individual dogs Not my BC, she's people obsessed . But she chooses her canine friends carefully. -
Absolutely gorgeous! LOVE the first one!
-
Do Border Terrier people refer to their dogs as Borders too? When people refer to "Mals", Malamute or Malinois? Oh the confusion! It does annoy me when people refer to Border Collies as "Collies". To me, Rough Collie = Collie, Smooth Collie = Smoothie, Border Collie = Border, BC. I think my Border Collie is listed as a Collie with the council and maybe even the vet. Arghh.

I prefer certain colours over others, but I wouldn't choose a puppy just because I liked it's colour. What I don't like is seeing breeders breed dogs just to produce a variety of colours and not taking anything else into consideration. Especially when the colours aren't even in the standard. I started listing the BC colours I liked most, then I realised I was pretty much listing them all But I do love black/whites, blue merles & tri-colours... oh and the chocolates! In Goldens, I love the middle shade of gold (not cream, not red), what I don't like is the really white dogs.

Very Clever Especially For New Dslr Owners
Tay. replied to Kirislin's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Very cool -
Dont upgrade for the sake of upgrading. Is there something you want to do and your camera cannot deliver? I think I want something a little faster, for better action shots. Also higher picture quality would be nice. But I seriously think I have much to learn before upgrading and I do love my 1000D (mostly :p). I was just curious to see how long it took others to upgrade

Be sure to share some photos soon ;)

Random question, what lens do you use most? For me, definitely the 50mm 1.8 (I did a quick search, hope there isn't a thread like this already )

thanks for the replies all ^ ahhh, I dunno!? Thinking a new lens before a new body!
