I'm yet to meet an aggressive cocker - looking at my two I struggle to think how either of then could be anything other than sweet (if not a bit sooky lol) I think CL is right, when cockers were extremely popular and the dog market was saturated with them, less importance was put on quality, and more on quantity. Today's cockers are different. There is emphasis put on quality (although there are good and bad breeders everywhere!)

Hi all - i'm posting on behalf of friends who are looking for a rental in Brisbane. There isn't much out there are the moment through the usual channels. They both work, have fantastic rental history, and have a one year old boxer. Preferably the East Side (they are currently living in Carina, and would prefer this side of town still!). I think i know the trainers you are referring to, they are mine as well. They went through so much research and medical treatments & tests.... it was horrible

Nudgee, the Spit & the Wynnum Esplanade are great - but i like our local dog park at Carindale (Meadowlands Rd). We have never really had a problem there, and it's nice and close to home

lol i have to laugh - I just googled the meaning of Molly, and apparently it means 'bitter' - which is so apt right now - she is getting so cranky at the tiniest things - especially when Beanie annoys her! Beanie is so named because of the bean bag he loved sleeping on as a pup at his breeders.

our kitty has a 'less is more' approach with the dogs. They exist in harmony - but very much separately. She won't go close enough to the dogs to go through the doggy door at the same time is them. We were back at work today, and she stayed inside. You would think something like this would be more accessible and available - i'm sure it isn't a unique situation!

thanks all! I wonder whether the US ones are the same sizes as the Australian ones? I found information that says that you can reverse the magnetic ones, but you just need to make sure they are protected from any harsh environments.

i thought there were sensor ones too - but they all just seem to advertise that they keep unwanted animals out - so i'm not 100% sure that the sensor is on both sides?

well, the day has finally arrived when our cat figured out the doggy door, and took herself on a field trip in our backyard... I know that you can get magnetic doggy doors etc, but they are designed to keep animals out, not keep certain animals in. Are there any doggy doors that actually work this way, OR, crazy idea, but could you install the magnetic ones 'backwards' so that it keeps certain animals inside? Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

cockers love to make a roo roo noise when they are excited or want your attention "a-roo-roo-roooooooo" from what i have seen - this is a very typical cocker sleeping position.......lol

Wouldn't actually agree with this. In my experience, Cockers have always been on the higher end of the energy scale and not always reliable with children. Ellz - i was just speaking about my experience with my two. I compare them to our friends dogs eg. boxer & border collies, and then my OH's mums maltese, and i would definately place our cockers in the middle of the two spectrums.

would a cocker be too small? I would definately say my two are medium energy. Also great with kids Needs to be ok with grooming though!

As per the title, i want to know if any DOLers have any recommendations of canine study courses. I'm not doing it for a particular reason, but would like to further my knowledge a little bit more - am interested in first aid, husbandry, psychology etc Obviously would need either correspondence or online courses I have been googling and found the Aust. School of Petcare Studies - anyone know anything about them? Thanks in advance!!!

Me: work in shipping Molly: she would be a socialite and photographic model - she is very photogenic!

My girl despises them as well - but she's sneaky - she will hold it in her mouth for a little bit, attempt to chew them, then plop the melted, saliva covered bits one by one on the floor. It's a struggle, but she ends up eating all the little bits in the end - and then refuses to talk to me for the rest of the night. She used to eat them no worries - same with any other tablets. She just really hates these!
