  1. Hi all Just popping in to bring you all some jaffas and chippies so you can enjoy your chosen DVD tonight. Hoped for more news from down the hall, but I expect they are busy looking after Jed, maybe there'll be some tomorrow. Might just sit down for a while and take a load off, it was a busy day of housework today, then I'll toddle of and relight the candle.
  2. Nope, I haven't read beyond your first post BB, so forgive me if I'm on a tangent, but... By your reckoning I should pack up all my dog related activities and take up knitting? Btw, yes my dog is a herding titled 'desexed' female. But I don't have any intentions of ever being a breeder - best left to those with the time, resources and know how - rather than a dog enthusiast like me. Oh and on that, just because a dog has a title, doesn't mean it should necessarily pass on its lines. I love my girl to bits, she's sharp as a tack, highly trainable, but her skin issues are just too overwhelming to ever consider using her as breeding stock. I think I know where you are coming from though, its a great shame that more of the really good breeding dogs don't have titles in working/sport disciplines, particularly those that show off the original 'job' of the breed. But realistically that isn't always possible, nor does everyone have the same interests. Edited because I was having an illiterate moment.
  3. Lovely result for you and Tango. It put a real smile on my face, I love seeing my dog out and running free and now you can too.
  4. Thank you Toohey for passing on the positive and encouraging news. Most of all, thank you Jed, for putting up such a strong fight. Little Cocker Spaniel sized steps will bring you all the way back to us.
  5. Ha! I work at the head office for a large bank, that isn't going to happen anytime soon. But I do work from home regularly and they are my favourite days. Good long walk in the morning for the both of us, then work, then sometimes a private obed lesson for us both in the afternoon (or a visit to the dog park), followed by more work for me. The funniest though is if I'm on a teleconference at home and Bronte decides its play time. Apparently the Collie voice travels really well over the phone and she always gets a few laughs. Many a time I have finished my call sitting on my front step as its the only way I can get away from her and her LOUD bark.
  6. Just popped in all to say hi and have a wine with you all. Jed, we aren't here to rush you, you take your time, we are patient people, heck we have dogs, we have to be patient. Speaking of which, ah Bronte, please let go of the Newfie tail, its not a drive toy for you to shake and defluff. Off to check my candle is still burning bright.
  7. Lovely pics. Look at those little coffed scrolls all rolled up together :D
  8. Oh this is heartbreaking and I'm sure nothing I could say would make you feel better, instead here's one of these :D Phoebe is now running free and happy with all of our previous hounds, in the most beautiful doggy land ever. Best of all she's watching over you, your parents and Bella to keep you all safe.
  9. Finally made it after a day of bed rest and finishing my assignment. Very pleased for positive news on Jed, this is really great. Now I'm going to cuddle up with the Collie, with Newfie fur over my feet to keep them warm and watch telly and stress that I haven't done my assigment right. Oh, just going to relight candle before I sit down...back in a tic.
  10. I have to admit, I'm thinking about building a house in a few years time and already I'm trying to decide if I have an extra bedroom as the 'dogs' room, so I can have it set up properly - and I don't even breed.
  11. In the spare bathroom, aka Bronte's bathroom, with one of those plastic hose attachments SecretKei had a picture of. Wash my dogs outside - never! She'd pack her bags and walk.
  12. Runs off to measure treat pouch...yep, its the regular size. I have one of their waterproof pouch socks in it too as a liner. I can get 200g-250g of Four Legs treats or chopped up Four Legs roll in there. That generally does quite a long training session if at club. If I don't use them all in a short morning session, I just put the pouch, poo bags, spare house key and all in the fridge for the next walk. RS - I use a lot of soft/wet treats, not really suitable for pockets. Well I guess you could use them, but blarggghhhh, might be smelly later.
  13. If anything happened to my Blackdog treat bag I'd be devasted, its awesome. If you are doing lots of obed or training in any discipline where you use treats, then they are fantastic. Other I've seen are fiddly, or way too small, don't sit right or the dog can easily gets its snozzle in them. Blackdog pouches rock! But that sounds like it was incorrectly priced - if you want one, you can probably get it cheapest from their site direct, scratch that, I just read SecretKei's post properly - great prices!
  14. Secondly (and should have been in the previous post): Ok... Bronte and the cat have a wicker and wood three drawer tallboy in the living area for all their toys, its quite a nice bit of furniture actually - but cost a bit. Dry food, additives and treats are all in the pantry on 'their' shelf. Shampoos, conditioners etc in the spare bathroom vanity next to the bath. Medicines etc either on top of the fridge or in a snap lock container at the back of the pantry. Meat and bones are in 'their' freezer in the laundry. Collars, leads, training pouch on hooks in the laundry. (I only have three collars and two leads - clearly I'm lacking in this area, but I'm a traditionalist and like all black or all brown equipment, apart from Bronte's herding collar which is red for boldness.) Towels, extra blankets etc in a laundry bag in the spare room. Two car crates and bulk dry food in the garage. Two house crates in my bedroom. Ah, yes I hear you, I only have one dog, why two crates - planning for next puppy, VERY excited and I love to plan ahead.
  15. Firstly - TLC you have a major collar and lead fetish but very cool.
  16. Popped in to see if there is any more news since yesterday, lovely to see the new flowers, candles and supportive faces around the room. So many different doggies too. Have to go and finish an assignment, but will see you all tomorrow, and I'll be hoping for more news about a further improvement in Jed's condition.
  17. Just popped in to see if there was anymore news, see who was still awake and step over some of the furkids to grab some yummy snacks. Sleeping at home tonight cause I'm still sick, but I've left some new toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes on the table for you guys to grab in the morning so you will feel normal after sleeping on the couches and floor with the Newfies, Border Collie pups (where's the sleep?) and all the other furry friends. Have a good night everyone, and Jed, you have a peaceful night filled with positive dreams and watched over by that lovely butterfly angel that Harminee brought for you.
  18. Just popping my head round the door jamb of the waiting room to see how Jed is and I'm pleased to hear the encouraging news. Have to shoot off now to light another candle, but I'll pop back later with Collie for you to cuddle.
  19. Lovely thoughts everyone, the waiting room is starting to fill up. "Oh look, a 1996 copy of Family Circle I haven't read."
  20. Right, I definitely have to get onto shots of Bronte and I together, I don't have many at all. And I really really want a nice heeling shot of us both, showing that focus and connection too - that would be my prize photo. Tokkie I Ringo.
  21. Awesome 'guilt' face, as in, he's gulting you. It would of worked on me, I would have changed the uggs for runners and been on two walks already if he was giving me that face.
  22. Love her white apron, she's purdy!
  23. Thanks guys, this was the sort of info I was looking for. With them being so hard I figured they'd have a long life and I have a plastic tub I can put them in too, so this may work well.
  24. Reviving an old thread here as I'm looking at 2x2's and 4x2's. Anyone know how long a 10kg box would remain fresh for?
  25. Yay! I know many of those pups, and that little Bronte, she got a red ribbon on the day. We aim to be as clever as Lotus and CM at the next fun day. Thanks for posting them CM. I'm trying to remember the other Brittany's name, but its escaping me too, was a boy though.
